Florian Meindl is a multi-talented and multi-faceted artist, who is renowned for his technical prowess. Producing for over fourteen years, Florian has become known for his deep, grooving powerful techno. His productions are characterised by his love of analog, which represent his true signature sound. 2006 saw the inception of Florian’s label FLASH Recordings. The label showcases Florian’s musical vision, reflects his taste and gives him tracks for his DJ Mixes. A platform for artists that Florian likes, FLASH has had over 130 releases already including tracks from Heron, Electric Rescue, Jamie Anderson, Alignment, Hans Bouffmyhre & Avgusto. In May 2015 Florian released his second solo album ‘Collide’ to critical acclaim. The album was clearly influenced by Florian’s transition from producing almost entirely digitally for thirteen years to recording mainly analog jamming sessions and editing the end results after on the computer. The technical aspect is integral to Florian’s musical journey that he takes the listener on. His talent lies in enabling the machines to speak and groove, to connect with them and create sounds and patterns. In addition to solo releases and numerous collaborations with international artists, and remixing the likes of Hot Chip & Royksopp, Florian is busy with his sound design brand Riemann Kollektion and Riemann Modular which is his new studio gear company specializing in Eurorack Modules. As a DJ, live performer, studio producer and sound designer, Florian has over the years established an impressive producing base for himself in his Berlin based Riverside Studio complex with an exciting hardware set up including Modular Systems, an analog mixing desk as well as classic machines like Roland 909. After fourteen years of international performances and production, Florian has developed a special connection with his analog equipment, letting them speak for him in music where words just aren’t possible. His third album will be released in February 2017 in combination with a worldwide full analog live act tour.

In order to see someone elses perspective on his latest album "Nonlinear Times", Florian commited two of his favorite Techno producers and gave them total freedom on what they would do with the tracks.
Iconic Industrial Techno producer Black Asteroid, who is one half of the critically acclaimed MOTOR on Chris Liebings CLR Recordings and well known for his releases on Electric Deluxe, delivered a trend setting remix of "I Know The Kick" with Electro influenced industrial beats and electric guitar injections. Bryan Black aka Black Asteroid definitely knows the kick!
Jeroen Search, who recently released an impressive album on Len Faki's FIGURE Label, delivered two remixes for this EP and was able to isolate the essences of the original tracks and weave them into his very own, classic and confident interpretations. "Dimension Slip" got a hypnotic and deep treatment, whereas "Surrealist" was taken far away from its original direction into a jacking club tune - maintaining the scifiish, full of suspense feel.

We were always living in nonlinear times, but a significant cycle is coming to an end so we are noticing a growing number of severe changes and happenings caused by the nonlinear nature of things. For human beings it's difficult to imagine exponential growth despite it surrounding us in almost every aspects of life. In music one can find such nonlinear increases or logarithmical declines in the core of sound creation itself, namely in envelopes controlling levels, texture and frequencies. But also in real life in the rise and fall of popularity, in viral news or in the development of music technology. Utilising his sound pallet comprised of modular synthesis and electronic instrumentation, Florian Meindl highlights these resonances of thought and exploration with a sonic statement of his current vision around electronic music in the form of his 4th artist album.

The live jam character can clearly be felt in the first two tracks Metaphysics and Holomorphic Function. Florians original Bell's Theorem has a deep melodic structure. With Denise Rabes interpretation, the track is contorted through some serious distortion pedals and broken beat to match her dark take on the synth line. The outcome is an impressive piece for one of those never ending nights in concrete walled rooms with oversized loudspeakers.

Florian Meindl's third album "Time Illusion" saw him diving deep into the analog music production by using modular synthesizers and vintage gear as well as performing those machines at exclusive live shows. This EP brings together the analog world and the digital editing and processing possibilities to form a unique blend of both methods. "Metroacid" is carried by a challenging polyrhythmic acid-line, which is lifted to another perceived pitch by a pad cadence, which disappears apruptly after its purpose was fulfilled towards the end of the peripatetic breakdown in order to leaving the room needed to unfold the full potential of the acidic sequence, which errupts unexpectedly and creates a wild peak in the last third of the track and transitions into the elegant outro. "Hidden Populations" represents Florian Meindl's deeper and somewhat softer side with surrealistic designed synth melodies woven into hypnotic drums. The Argentinian Techno producer Flug transformed it into a slightly more systematic and dense construction which stands out with its vigorous beats, making it a super-playable track.

These last 12 months have seen him tour his live show, where he has showcased his flair for live performance with some heavy equipment including his Eurorack Modular System. To remix Time Illusion Florian has chosen three artists that he admires for their unique take on techno music. Lucy, responsible for the curation of the highly respected Stroboscopic Artefacts imprint, Sigha renowned for his modular system performances and productions on Token and Blueprint and up and coming Netherlands duo TWR72 who have been continuing to put out fresh and gamechanging releases on their label Float Records. The Lucy remix spans on a whole A side with 45 rotations per minute and opens a window in a yet unknown dimension of expanding effect drones which takes the listener on an extraordinary trip of its own. He took the opportunity to weave the breakbeat from the original composition into a straight-clocked rhythm while giving the harmonic content a new unheard surreal depth. This track has got the potential to suck the dancers minds into a strange journey and yet keep them on the steady rhythm. Sigha's interpretation of "Frame Of Mind" manages to be heavy and soft at the same time with industrial noise movements and mystic synth sequences emerging and disappearing. The beauty in this masterpiece lies in the balance between the sweet harmonic content and the pounding beat construction, which keeps moving and modulating until the very end. TWR72 deliver a perfectly working and grooving DJ weapon, which is highly playable in all sorts of situations. They perfectly manage to incorporate the key elements from the original into their very own signature sound. Florian Meindl surges ahead in 2017 as he returns once more to his home base FLASH Recordings. He has been locked away in his studio and is now ready to unleash his new album ‘Time Illusion’. With these album sessions Florian has created a special collection of analogue focused tracks which will be released on a double vinyl album and digitally in the Spring.
Amalgamating his array of impressive hardware, he has refined his sound and crafted a selection of tracks that demonstrate intricate knowledge and mastery of his analogue equipment. His aim was to find the right balance between musical depth and sound design while interacting with the hardware.

Florian Meindl is to release a new solo EP on the 11^th of December. Set for release on Florian's established label FLASH Recordings, it is his last solo EP of 2015. The multi-talented and multi-faceted artist Florian Meindl is renowned for his technical prowess, and over the years has established an impressive producing base for him himself in his Berlin based Riverside Studio complex. The EP was produced using Florian's collection of hardware gear which gives it's warm and organic but punching sound. The title track 'Harmonographic' is the theme of the release, connecting the geometric artwork with the sound of the music. After fourteen years of international performances and production, Florian has developed a special collection with his analog equipment, letting them speak for him in music where words just aren't possible.

The second issue of Tiptop Audio Records attests to the labels attitude towards developing a nuanced sound set to become a standard for production. The line-up for Tiptop Records includes big names of a scene now described as Modular Techno, which consists of a fast growing group of artists interested in expanding their compositional techniques through modular synthesizer systems. The vinyl format is a testimony to the labels dedication to produce music in a physical form. The result is a?four side, double LP packaged in original artwork (including a special poster) by Italian artist Matteo Giampaglia, with handmade lettering by Caterina Scardillo. It is an invitation to a territory of oscillations, and?a trip of 10 (+ 2 extra digital) tracks that reconsiders the concept of sound design applied to electronic club music.

Florian Meindl returns to his imprint Flash Recordings in LP format once again with ʻCollideʼ. A connection of analog sounds and styles, Collide takes the listener on a dark techno journey including collaboration with studio wizard Jamie Anderson from the UK. Released on Florianʼs established label Flash Recordings, the LP follows in the musical footsteps of previous releases: deep techno embodying Florianʼs musical vision with minor chords meeting rough organic analog drums. Florian is an artist renowned for his technical prowess, and over the years has established an impressive producing base for him himself in his Berlin based Riverside Studio complex. With an ʻimpressiveʼ hardware set up including Modular Systems, an analog mixing desks as well as classic machines Roland 909. “I collect studio gear and records but I'm not an excessive collector. I use the things rather than to pile them, all the hardware in my studio is used regularly and if I don't need something anymore I see it and invest the money in a new thing I want.” The album has been clearly influenced by Florianʼs transition from producing almost entirely digitally for thirteen years to recording mainly analog jamming sessions and editing the end results after on the computer. The technical aspect is integral to Florianʼs musical journey that he takers the listener on. His talent lies in enabling the machines to speak and groove, to connect with them and create sounds and patterns. “I patched sounds from scratch with the modular system and shaped them in a very unique way so the workflow already gives me a more personal sound and possibility to shape it with my taste.”  After fourteen years of international performances and production, Florian has developed a special collection with his analog equipment, letting them speak for him in music where words just arenʼt possible. The nine track LP will be released in all digital stores on the 18th of May as well as in Florian's Facebook shop in the format of a limited to 100 units 8GB USB Card, which also includes the high-resolution studio master, files in 24bit.
