Dj Drastic aka Scratch Johnson is one busy man. From producing beats, to scratching live shows, to rockin with bands, to having his own 24 hour radio station... Drastic does not stop, Nor do we want him too! Getting involved in music early in his life, he has been around long enough to know what's what, while still kickin out fresh material after fresh material!
BusTown Music spoke to DJ Drastic after his set from Skully's at the Mojoflo Mardi Gras show. We talked about Columbus hiphop, all his projects and got some golden advice for dj's and other musicians alike. So kick back and enjoy the beatscape it's bound to be juicy.
Jared Mahone is an artist who is "committed to living within the arc of the creative." That, coupled with his spirited yet humble personality truly comes out in the soulful/funky/pop grooves that he and his band create for the audience. He wants to connect with you, dear listener, and I suggest you flow with the energetic vibes. Don't fight it! And oh yeah, he's a beat-boxing fiend as well! I sat down with Jared to talk about his new record, his love for Columbus, and more. Check it out!

HAPPY NEW YEAR FOLKS!
The Evan Oberla Show kicks off the new year with a dynamic and thoughtful local band here in Columbus- The Receiver. The Receiver is an indie rock band made up of brothers Casey (keyboards, bass, vocals) and Jesse Cooper (drums, vocals), as well as recently added Sean Gardner (guitar, keyboards).
Listen to their conversation with Evan Oberla about their music, their inspirations as well as the state of Columbus's music scene! Enjoy...
The next episode of the Evan Oberla show features the psychotropidelic stylings of the doubly positive WAY YES! From their recent show with The Floorwalkers and The Receiver at The Newport Music Hall, the music wafts from their unique setup to your satiated ear holes.
They discuss their new 7inch vinyl record 'ORANJUDIO', plus more exclusively on The Evan Oberla Show on BusTown Music. Fellow BusTownites, we give you, WAY YES!
Back from his national tour with the acclaimed OAR band, Evan kicks off The Evan Oberla Show with The Floorwalkers LIVE @ The Newport Music Hall. The Floorwalkers are definitely a 'must see' dynamic band also back from a lot of touring and releasing their new album The Natural Road. The Inner Sanctum described The Floorwalkers performance as one that does not “...conform to genre and not in a pretentious anti-mainstream way.” BusTown Music describes The Floorwalkers as “simply Amazing”- and we have proof! Just listen…
Band members include:
Kerry Henderson - Guitars
Ben Meinhold - Bass
Theo Perry - Lead Guitar
Jonathan Vernon - Lead Vocals
Tom Lasky - Drums
*Nate Kremer - Keyboards & Organ
