Are you disliked by anyone? I bet there are people who simply dislike you, even if you’ve never done anything against them, simply don’t have “chemistry” or good vibes.

Get an a-ha moment and listen how the ICEBERG metaphor about conflict explains this. Would you describe yourself as ambitious? And does it have a positive or negative connotation for you?

For women, ambition is sometimes seen as a dirty word. The reason seems to go that it’s one thing to have success foisted upon you; it is another, not so “good” thing to actively look for it. If you’re a woman, saying you got lucky is fine. Saying “I deserve this, because I worked so hard to get it” is still, even in a more feminist world, much less socially acceptable. This episode will help you explore the angles that serve and how you can embrace your level of ambition to get better results. Enjoy it.

According to research from McKinsey, nearly one-third of U.S. workers will need to find new jobs by 2030 in response to rapid advancements in technology. These advancements mean that workers need to constantly be learning new skills.

“To be successful, every single one of us has to learn new skills — not just once, but throughout our careers,” says Melinda Gates.

Linkedin is an important compass when it comes to foreseeing which skills are being valued now and expected to gain value tomorrow. LinkedIn analyzed hundreds of thousands of job postings in order to determine which skills companies need most in 2019 and found that employers are looking for workers with both soft skills and hard skills. Have you ever felt like a fraud? Like you don’t deserve to be somewhere or as you were a fake? Well. I bet you do deserve to be there, and you are not a fake at all. Though this phenomenon is not uncommon. This episode will reveal what it is and how to overcome it. The Smart woman podcast aims at giving you the tools and strategies to get better results and certainly get rid of things that don’t add value like our imposter syndrome.

The “impostor phenomenon” (was first described by American clinical psychologists Pauline Clance and Suzanne Imes in 1978 as an “internal experience of intellectual phoniness” experienced by those with “outstanding academic and professional achievements. Despite their numerous achievements and accolades, people experiencing the impostor phenomenon maintain a “strong belief that they are not intelligent; in fact, they are convinced that they have fooled anyone who thinks otherwise.” Those with impostor phenomenon discount their own efforts and talents when explaining their successes, instead citing situational factors like luck, timing, or inadvertently fooling others about their intelligence.

Apply the tips I share in this chapter to face it and overcome it.
