22nd May 2018 will be a year since the MEN arena terror attack.
We are looking to raise money for the Red Cross: UK Solidarity Fund to support victims of terrorism.

Skils are off to Knowsley safari park and Craig wanted to know all about it, so he created a show.
Hope School Joined The Buzz Pod team to put on a show about the things we like to do at easter time.
Nicola and Ben did a fantastic job interviewing and recording the day at Transition 2017.
We attended the Freshers Fair at St John Rigby College last week.
We spoke to many students all about their summer and choices for college.
We found out alot of interesting things, go ahead give it a listen :)

We went out to Britain In Bloom on the 8th of August for the final judging of the best projects in the country.
We managed to interview many of the participants and had a fantastic day.
We would like to thank everyone that came for an interview with us and a big well done to the Wigan borough for being such a strong community working together to keep our town beautiful :)

Sandra and Elizabeth worked hard to get some great feedback recorded from the garden party at the new Tanfield property in Hindley.
The Wigan Word Web is a pop-up creative heritage project designed to capture phrases and words that are distinctly Wigan before they fall out of common usage and memory. We asked people from the Borough think about the words they use with their families that others outside the town may not understand... From 'clemt' to 'jackbit', people wrote their words down on card and pinned them to the Wigan Word Web. The SKILS Buzz Pod team then invited people into their recording studio to talk about the words and phrases, and what they mean. How many of these did you already know?

The Transition and beyond event hosted a big range of different adult services that gave school leavers, individuals looking to change their services and others the information they need to make informed choices for their own futures.
We asked some questions to people attending the event and let people share their thoughts with us.

Today the students worked together to set up the microphones and see all the different equipment being put up.
After we talked about our favourite topics and recorded them for you to hear :)
We had so much fun getting to know the guys from Oakfield who got a taste of what they can get up to with The Buzz Pod.

We had a discussion group about the things we do and think about at Christmas time.
We talked about the lonely people who may not have anyone to speak to at christmas and that we should just call on a neighbour and say hello if we know they're lonely.
