At Mission Church, we are desperate to experience a movement of Jesus in The 10, in our lifetime. As we find and follow Christ, we want to help others find and follow Christ.
We envision the day where Mission Church is known not just for where it Gathers, but as communities of people helping people find and follow Christ in schools, neighborhoods, workplaces, gyms... wherever your two feet take you. The kingdom of God has come. Therefore, we must Go to our city for His glory!

In our last episode, we defined a Missional Community. Missional Communities are how we, as Planters of Mission Church, organize to Help People Find & Follow Christ in the neighborhoods and networks where we live. Last episode we focused on the family portion of the Missional Community definition and this week we are zeroing in on the missionary part.
In our last episode, we covered what a Missional Community is and what it isn’t. Today we want to tease out a bit of that 3-part definition of a Missional Community and what it means to be a family. More specifically, how a healthy family shares a path and process.

Today for our Partners listening, we want to really get behind the three values we talked about in episode 003; Gather Differently, Grow Intentionally, and Go Missionally. Our dream is for all of us to embody, especially our Partners, and speak plainly to why it is important to know your relationship to the Church. Does the church have more for you, and do you have more for the church?
Today for our Partners listening, we are talking about something that’s really important and in a lot of ways decides the activity of Mission Church. They are what keeps us aligned to achieve that mission and vision. Those are called values, and we have 3 that Partners rally behind.
In episode 001 we started with the 'why' - a Mission. Every organization, every church needs one, and we said how lucky for us, the Church, that Jesus gave us ours in the Great Commission. For us here at Mission, we translate that into our mission statement - 6 key words - Helping People Find & Follow Christ.
In episode 002, we’re going to continue the conversation and look at what comes after the 'why' and that is around the "where' - which is the Vision.
A mission statement is also known as your 'why.'
Simon Sinek, 10 years ago now, famously said we need to start with why. Why? Because so much will change around us in the life of Mission Church - so what won’t change? This is our mission. When you start anything, even a church, your first question should be “great, but why?”
That answer points you in a direction.
At Mission we have 3 core values:
Gather Differently
Grow Intentionally
Go Missionally
Why do we have these values? What do they accomplish? They help guide your growth spiritually. They help us move specifically.
You might be thinking, "From what to where?"
Well, let's get that answered!
Because God is Servant, we are Servants; right? But what does it look like for us serve as God the Son, Jesus Christ served? What does it look like for us to serve like Jesus served?
Perhaps it's because our barrier to declaring the love of Jesus isn’t our belief that it would benefit those we are serving as much as it is a barrier of fear that we won’t know what to say to those we are serving?
Maybe?
Since, well, forever, God's mission has been helping people find and follow Him; to bring them back into perfect connection with a Father that loves them unconditionally.
And yet why is it so easy to push God's core attribute of 'Missionary' off to the side? Keeping real busy doing stuff at church and with other Christians to distract God, posting pictures from our devotional times to throw him off - hoping maybe God will forget about His plan.
Except that he won’t because it’s who He is.
A Missional Community is defined as a family of missionary servants helping people find and follow Christ.
As we Go Missionally as family – as we Go and imitate God, we Go and extend to others what's been extended to us.
Because God is family. We are family.
