It takes approximately 8 minutes for light from the sun to reach the earth. If the sun went dark right now, what would you do with those last 8 minutes? No heroics, no trying to save the world, just normal people grappling with their impending extinction. This play explores 8 different viewpoints — from doctors to ex-lovers to estranged brothers — for their final 8 minutes of certainty, of safety, of light on the earth.
Welcome to the behind the scenes world of "Love in a Hot Tub", the hottest reality dating show about one man looking for love with 25 women in one hot tub. Through this play, we follow up and coming producer, Jennifer, as she navigates her job and manipulates the women contestants to create great tv, but in doing so, she creates a great enemy in 'Blonde Woman' who is a lot more than she seems to the average viewer. This play explores reality dating television and its effects on how women perceive and compete with one another using subtle tactics of emotional manipulation. It also explores the question of what exactly it means to be "looking for love."
