When talking about the Resurrection of Jesus, sometimes we like to point out eyewitness testimony, prophecy or the principle of embarrassment as good evidence. And it is. We even like to disband conspiracy theories because it’s fun…but there is a really good piece of evidence that not a lot of Evangelicals know about. Do you? I was asked to speak at the Remnant church back in November of 2021 on the Five Fold Ministry, specifically dealing with the office of the Evangelist. Remnant Church is pastored by Dave and Jenny Torres, and they are doing great things already as a new church plant. In part 1 Generation Z discussed the struggles and hardships of growing up in the church and attending a public school system. They discussed their struggles with an older generation and the fact that they weren’t prepared for some hot button issues in society like pornography, addictions, depression, anxiety and fear. They vented about what the church could do better.
In part 2, these young people will now discuss what the church did right, why they loved their youth groups, and how their parents made an impact in their Christian walk. Enjoy.
Thanksgiving of 2021 I had the opportunity to sit down with 10 young people from Generation Z (8 of them who grew up in the church - and 2 who did not) and have a discussion about the challenges of church life and influences from outside of the church. It should be noted that most of these young people attended a public school and a Christian youth group at the same time. And while some of them had different challenges, you’ll see that most of them feel strongly about similar challenges that they have experienced.
Seven out of the ten young people are family to me and I’m very proud of who they are and how candid they were Enjoy.

The Old Testament Tabernacle is a type of the Church of today. God told Moses to build the Tabernacle exactly to the specs that He told him. There were three parts to the Tabernacle - the foundation, the structures and the furniture. In today’s church, it’s the vision, the systems and the spiritual. Is your church great at all three? Remember, everything had to be exactly according to the specs that God gave Moses, in order for God’s Glory to descend into the Tabernacle with His people. This is an ancient concept, but we can rebuild it exactly to God’s specs.

1: The Gates to the Tabernacle
"Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name." Psalms 100:4
Spend some time really thinking about all the blessings in your life for which you’re thankful. You can write down a list, sing your own song of praise, or just spend quiet moments reflecting on your gratitude and praise toward God.
2: The Altar of Sacrifice / The Altar of Repentance
This is where we repent of our sins. Paul said that he died daily - he repented daily. There are no steps at this altar, we come just as we are and we repent. We spend time here working on our issues, our weaknesses and our sin which will separate us from a Holy God unless taken care of with repentance. We kill the flesh at this station.
- The Laver of Water
The priest would come to this laver and see his reflection until he washed his hands in the water.
“…to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word.” Ephesians 5:26
At this station we read the Word of God to wash and cleanse us. Read Psalm 51
- The Priestly Robes (Fruits and Bells)
On the bottom of the priestly robes that the priest put on after washing himself - were fruits and bells. The fruits represent the fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. The bells represented the Gifts of the Spirit (Word of Wisdom, Knowledge, Tongues, Interpretation, Prophecy, Faith and Healing)
We pray here that God opens up doors where we can live by the fruit and the gifts of the Spirit with everyone that we come in contact with, and in every situation.
5: The 5 Pillars going into the Holy Place
These are the names of God - Wonderful, Councilor, The Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace
Stop at each pillar
Wonderful - Thank God for how wonderful He is in everything that He has done and is doing in your life. He is the Wonder of it all.
Councilor - Pray God’s council for every step in your daily life. There is no step too small or too big
The Mighty God - Pray against false doctrines and that God reveals truth to all nations of the Mighty God in Christ. Pray against false religions.
The Everlasting Father - Here’s where we pray for those who are fatherless, for those who are homeless, for the abused, the sick, the abandoned, the kidnapped, the lonely, the isolated, the depressed, the suicidal, the drug addict, the alcoholic...we all know someone personally, someone we love going through something - and we know that they need the love of an Everlasting Father.
The Prince of Peace - Pray for peace in Israel and Jerusalem. For peace in America between political parties, races and classes. Pray for peace in our marriages and our families.
- The Golden Candlestick
At this station we pray that the Holy Spirit burns hot within us, consuming us so that we can boldly be the light of the world and give this lost and dying world revelation in God’s Word.
- The Table of Shewbread
The shewbread represents the Word of God. We read the Word again and journal. Proverbs and Psalms are good books to read here.
The table represents the ministry that holds up the Word. Pray for the ministry of Pastors, evangelists, missionaries, and the pastoral staffs. You can pray for all different kinds of ministries here including small groups, children’s and many others.
- The Altar of Incense
This is where we bring deep, broken worship before God and we pray for our families, children and spouses
- The 4 Pillars that hold up the veil
These 4 pillars represent the 4 Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. We thank God here for the truth, principles, parables and miracles in these Gospels. We thank God for salvation, grace and the cross
- The Ark of the Covenant
This is where we plead God’s mercy as we approach the Mercy Seat of God. We plead His mercy in our lives, our career, our finances, our families, our ministries
- The Pot of Manna
We pray for our daily provision at this station
- The Law
We pray the covering of God’s Word in our lives. His commandments, principles and truth - that we live by them on a daily basis
- Aaron’s Budded Rod
We pray for God’s authority and for the miraculous in our lives through the name of Jesus.
- The Angels Woven into the Ceiling Fabric
We pray that angels will minister to us and protect us from every spiritual attack. For we fight not against flesh and blood, but against powers and principalities, thrones and dominions.

The Prayer of Jabez is short and simple, but powerful. If you want to read up a little bit more on this prayer than I suggest that you purchase the book, “The Prayer of Jabez” written by Bruce Wilkinson.
The Prayer of Jabez:
I Chronicles 4:10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, “Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.
Things to do before you pray:
- Sin separates us from a holy God, so it’s a really good idea that before you get into the Prayer of Jabez that you ask God to forgive you of any sin that you have committed leading up to this prayer time. Ask him to cleanse your heart and purify your mind so that nothing comes between you and your Savior.
- Pray the Jabez prayer every morning, and keep a record of your daily prayer by marking off a calendar or a chart you make especially for the purpose.
- Tell one other person of your commitment to your new prayer habit, and ask him or her to check up on you.
- Begin to keep a record of changes in your life, especially the divine appointments and new opportunities you can relate directly to the Jabez prayer.
- Start praying the Jabez prayer for your family, friends, and local church.
- Believe that God wants to release blessing, expand your territory, influence and responsibilities, give you power to do so, and protect you from the enemy - and then be willing to respond to the supernatural and remember that God is with you.
A sample prayer to pray:
- Prayer of Blessing - Oh that you would bless me, INDEED “Father God, I pray that You would bless me with more than I need so that I can bless others. I pray for more provision, that You would equip me to give generously to others and meet their practical needs in Your name. I ask You to give me greater spiritual gifting so that I can strengthen the Church and be more effective for the Kingdom of God. I pray for an abundance of wisdom and discernment so that I can point others to You and make decisions that honor You. I ask You to help me grow in understanding of Your truth and Your heart for people so I can do my part to bring Your Kingdom to earth. Help me keep Your generous blessings in perspective, so that I never become self-serving but stay focused on using what You’ve given me to serve other people.”

In Medicine, a Placebo is a harmless pill prescribed more for the psychological benefit to the patient than for any physiological effect. In other words, the Placebo may help to a certain degree in how we feel mentally about something - but there’s no real meaningful help, healing or cure with the Placebo. True repentance is not an emotion…it’s a decision of the mind that then gets carried out by your will and applied to your life. The Prodigal Son had a change of mind that he applied to his life when he went running back to the father. Judas only felt remorse and shame for spilling innocent blood, which then lead to his suicide and not a change of mind and will. Repentance is a decision and not an emotion. Enjoy.

In between the 39 books of the OT and the 27 books of the NT is a white blank page. That white blank page represents 400 years of history. It’s called the 400 years of silence. God stopped communicating with His people through the prophets. But even though God was silent, world history was not.
