Re·ly /rəˈlī/ - depend on with full trust or confidence
To Rely on something is to depend on it with full trust or confidence. The early church truly relied on the Holy Spirit. Peter and John healed people, Paul and Barnabas were led to Macedonia, believers came to new life in Christ. All of these feats of the Holy Spirit didn’t end with the Apostles but are still available for us today. Join us as we work through the book of Acts and see how we too can rely on the Holy Spirit.
Peter and John are arrested and confronted about their preaching, teaching, and healing in the name of Jesus. They are told to stop but they respond that it is better to follow God than follow man. Think of the pressure they were under within the culture they lived in. Currently, we find ourselves in a culture of short tempers and anxiety. We are surrounded by people who are struggling. How can we confront the brokenness of the culture and live boldly in the grace and love of Christ?
