The story of Exodus is the story of a loving God rescuing his people out of oppression and slavery. He sets them free not so they can live for themselves, but so that they can live out what they were created for. In Christ, God is doing the same for his people. He is setting them free not to live for themselves but to love and be loved by the one who created them. True liberating freedom doesn’t come through our agency to choose something for ourselves. It comes through loving and serving the one who chose us in Christ.
