LM, Episode 1250, (Remaster 249, 7/22/20), I’ve Lived Long Enough
Our grandson, Kai, used to like to play football games in our backyard, just him and me and he wanted me to do the play by play. “Second and 8, the boy goes out for a slant pass, yes, first down.”
One time he dropped the ball, “Oh, no, he was wide open in the flat and he dropped the ball. It looked like he tried to catch that with his elbows.”
Kai goes, “Papa Kent, you can’t criticize me for one mistake.”
He drops the next pass too. I say, “How about two?” He did think that was funny.
Later in the game, out of the blue, he asks, “Do you think the captain of the Titanic thought, ‘I’ve lived long enough.’”
I go, “I don’t know what he was thinking, but I was thinking that when you dropped that second pass.” He thought that was less funny.
Thank you for listening and always remember laughter matters.
