LM, Episode 1242, 5/16/23, (Remaster 221, 6/24/20), OJ’s Bronco

A couple of years ago Ford unveiled their new Bronco on OJ Simpson’s birthday. Ford says it is a coincidence, but I think it’s in bad taste to have the first one driven off the assembly line by Al Cowlings.

What’s next, extra tight, Isatoner gloves? “Isatoner, if the glove don’t fit, you have to acquit.”

My Grandma Rowan would have loved the former President’s trail last week because she was all over the OJ trial. She knew more about OJ’s trial than she did about my cousin, Beth’s.

When Anna Nicole Smith died, Grandma watched CNN 18 hours a day and she’d call me every afternoon to tell me the news about the autopsy or paternity test, and she’d just call her Anna Nicole like she’s part of the family.

After two months of this, I’m sitting in the Phoenix airport, nothing to do, so I call her, “Grandma, did you hear the news? They dug Anna Nichole up.”

She goes, “NO!”

“Yes, they dug her up, took her to Pennsylvania, she saw her shadow, there’s going to be six more weeks of winter.”

She hangs up on me. Ten minutes later, Twyla calls, “Will you leave your grandma alone?”

“I’m just teasing her.”

“Well stop it. She’s calling here, saying how you ain’t right, saying there’s no disgrace in getting a divorce now that the kids are grown.”

Sometimes my grandma forgot how much laughter matters.
