Each year Bathurst’s young state sporting representative are helped achieve their potential through the Bathurst District Sport & Recreation Council’s Junior Sports Grants. The awards are presented to young athletes to assist in meeting the costs of representing their sport at a national level.

Attached are some of the interviews from the 2026 BDSRC junior sports grants ceremony when Bathurst’s young emerging sports stars are presented with their Grants.

The attached interviews introduce some of Bathurst young achiever, it is important that our young state representative meet the Mayor and the Awards Sponsors as they will be ambassadors for the city while representing NSW.

These Junior Sports Awards are greatly appreciated by our cities aspiring local athletes and we thank the sponsors Bathurst RSL Club, Unity Bank, 2bs 95.1 FM and Bathurst Regional Council; the awards introduced in the 1990s with more than $500,000 awarded to local junior athletes to represent with pride.
