This episode features a conversation with the One Utah Summit top three Startup Pitch finalists: Poly Platform (first place and people’s choice), Dental Dash (second place), Jipe (third place), and podcast host Pete Codella, Go Utah’s communications director.
Poly Platform is a smart-city civic engagement platform that serves as a one-stop shop for municipalities. Dental Dash, a product of Woobie, provides gamified workflow automation software with training for dental office staff. Finally, Jipe is an entry-level job search app connecting GenZ job seekers to employment opportunities.
The Startup Pitch was a partnership between the summit organizers, Utah-based VentureCaptial.org, and Weber State University's Hall Global Entrepreneurship Center. Contestants went through a sorting process based on the materials they submitted, then mentorship with industry experts, and finally were selected to compete at Gov. Cox’s One Utah Summit for cash and in-kind prizes totaling a value of $60,000.
Hear from the three Startup Pitch finalists about what inspired them to start their companies, why they participated in the entrepreneur challenge, the lessons they’ve learned as a business person, the most significant challenges they’ve faced, and much more.
