It has been two years since we last heard a message from our multi-year series in the Book of Acts. Well, we’re back to it this Sunday! Finally! As we pick up the action (Acts is a narrative history of the inauguration and spread of the early church), we will be looking at Acts 11:1-18 which is a recap of what happened in chapter 10 when The Apostle Peter received a crazy dream from the Lord and then Gentiles showed up at his door fulfilling the vision he had seen. In the passage this week, some Christians were having a hard time believing what had happened because of their traditions and preconceived notions of what the church ought to be. The Holy Spirit challenged that head on. It isn’t hard to see how that applies today. How will you and I handle it when God pushes up against our comfort zone? I’m eager to look at that with you on Sunday.Series: The Acts of the Apostles (Chapters 11-16)Todd DugardMessage: 28 – They fell silentHarvest Bible ChapelText: Acts 11:1-18October 29, 2023Proverbs 17:28When God is at work, I will…Expect the unexpected (v. 1-15)Three Pentecosts in Acts:Acts 2:4 Jewish PentecostActs 8:14 Samaritan Pentecost;Acts 10:44 Gentile PentecostJames 2:1Look to his Word (v. 16)Salvation is given by God, it comes through listening to the message about Jesus, and it involves the reception of the Holy Spirit and baptism.Eckhard J.
