The 2024 NFL Draft ended up being an exciting one for many a Minnesota Vikings fan, as two potentially franchise changing players fell to the Vikings, at least to a point where they could trade up without using next year's first round pick! JJ McCarthy is the future Vikings quaterback, and Dallas Turner fell to 17, in which Kwesi made the big move from 23, to land the elite pass rushing linebacker!

This has turned out to be one of the most fascinating free agency periods in Vikings history. We say good bye to Kirk Cousins, but hello to a younger, faster defense. There now a strong possibility of a blue chip Quarterback heading our way come draft time, as the Purple are clearly building up trade chips.

Super Bowl LVIII was a great game, but the ending felt oh so familiar and oh so predictable. The 49ers gave away numerous chances, and Steve Spagnuolo proved he's the best defensive coordinator of all-time.

Championship Sunday was a tale of two halves, one that sputtered away, as the Ravens kept shooting themselves in the foot, despite playing much better in the second half, a lot like this year's Vikings. The 49ers on the other hand, mounted a 17 point comeback, as it appeared the Lions were on their way to their first Super Bowl, only to see San Francisco come "roaring" back with a 27 point second half, as the Lions' "Roar" was not restored in the end.

Baltimore ultimately crushed the Texans in the second half of their game, whereas San Fransisco finally woke up in the fourth quarter to oust the Packers. The Lions outlasted the Buccaneers, reaching their first NFC Title game since the 1991 season. The Bills looked like the better team, and had home field advantage, but blew so many opportunities, especially Stefon Diggs, who really let his team down time and again, not to mention another "wide right" horror show, in a game that Bills fans are going to be kicking themselves forever.

The Minnesota Vikings indeed finished what was the 2023 Season with a 7-10 record. This season started with mistakes, then the injuries set in, followed by poor decision making after a pretty nice mid-season run. At the end of the day, failure after failure reared it's ugly head pretty much throughout the year.

Merry Christmas Purple Mafia faithful, on this Christmas Eve special edition! Nick Mullens has skills to throw the football, and is a gunslinger of a QB like fellow Southern Miss. Alumni Brett Favre was, but the mistakes are so much more often and so egregious, that people might wonder what he's on out there. The Detroit Lions would go on to win their first Division Title since it was still the Central Division in 1993!

After a fairly uneventful first half, things looked awfully promising when the Minnesota Vikings built a 17-3 in Cincinnati. Just as quickly, the tides would turn, with questionable play calls, and not using the proper advantages that were given by the Bengals run defense.

Another putrid showing by the Minnesota Vikings offense, wasn't enough to get past Brian Flores defense, as the Vikings somehow hung on to win 3-0 in Las Vegas. Josh Dobbs was ultimately benched in the fourth quarter in favor of Nick Mullens, who likely will be the starting QB going forward.

The Joshua Dobbs rocket science experiment appears to have been "Scrubbed", as suddenly our NFL Offensive version of a rocket scientist decided to force the fore mentioned quarterback to play completely out of his strengths. What did this change of plan get us? A 12-10 loss AT HOME to the last place Chicago Bears.

God bless him, but Alexander Mattison has hurt this Minnesota Vikings team this season, time and again, with dropped touchdowns, weak performances, and momentum changing/back breaking fumbles. It's time to move on to Ty Chandler, as it could just have easily been Cam Akers just a few weeks back. Either way, a change needs to be made, there have been too many demoralizing performances.

Josh Dobbs, and the Minnesota Vikings offense was incredibly impressive, creative and not afraid in the first half of the game. The second half was the polar opposite for whatever reason, along with the fact that Dennis Allen is a more than capable defensive coach, and the Saints defense is legit. Thankfully, the Vikings defense, along with Brian Flores were up to the challenge, and staved off the New Orleans momentum in the second half.

After Jaren Hall's impressive start and unfortunate concussion, Joshua Dobbs took over after being a Viking only since being acquired in a trade just four days prior. Things looked rough early for Dobbs, but just as quickly, the 28 year old spot starter got more and more comfortable in O'Connell's offense, and ultimately lead the Vikings to a gutsy win in Atlanta!

Monday Night was the feature presentation of 2023, at least so far, as Kirk Cousins, Jordan Addison, and Cam Bynum showed up to play, along with many other valuable pieces of this Vikings team. The fore mentioned Purple took an early lead, and never relinquished it, with a thrilling 22-17 victory over maybe the best team in the NFL!

Time and time again this year, it feels like Minnesota Vikings fans are victims of a cruel prank. Opening drive to the one yard line? Pick Six. First play of the game? Fumble. In a game that the Chiefs almost wanted to lose, the Vikings offense continued their maddeningly inept overall play, and "came up short" yet again.

Funny how when the Vikings finally generate SOMETHING of a pass rush, and another coincidence, Marcus Davenport finally plays in a game, they actually win a game. Albeit, against one of the worst teams in the league, with a rookie quarterback, but without that pass rush, the Vikings might be 0-4.

The Minnesota Vikings are already a minus six in the take/give in a mere two weeks, which is a pretty good reason they are 0-2. As well as the Vikings appeared to be playing, especially defensively, there's only so much you can do, when you give the ball right back, time and time again.

For the first time in a least 20 years, it's safe to say that a Minnesota Vikings head coach, out dueled Bill Belichick! The Patriots, despite playing very well for over three quarters, and looked like they might win this game, were undisiplined way too often in this game, which cost them dearly.

Reality set in early and often Sunday afternoon, starting with the strip sack of Kirk Cousins, and it felt like the Vikings never recovered. The Dallas Cowboys don't wear pinstripes, but they sure seem like the do versus the Vikings of late, shades of the Yankees dominance over the Minnesota Twins.

There is something different about this Vikings team compared to so many others. They literally just win games, whether pretty, ugly, scary, or an epic battle of "Can you top this?". It's becoming more of we hope it never ends, and this team ultimately reaches immortality when the time comes in February. We certainly hope so, and we shall soon find out, but we know for sure that this team is for real.

The Minnesota Vikings just keep finding ways to win, in games they would not have won last year, or frankly, not in the last few years at the very least. Kirk Cousins returned to Washington for the first time, and was heckled with fans trolling Kirk's famous "You like that?!" line at him, as the Commanders were beating the Vikings by ten. Thankfully, Kirk and Co. got the last "You like that?!" in this one.
