1st Corinthians 1:
- The local assembly of churches in a city is recognized to be of those that are living holy lives and of all called to be holy even of those that struggle to enter a life of holiness and call from their heart on Jesus Christ. On such the pronouncement of grace and peace can be given. 1-3
- We are to seek that no one comes behind in any gift from God such as utterance, and knowledge that has the testimony of Jesus Christ so that we might be ready for the coming of Christ without blame. The calling of all in the church is unto fellowship with Jesus Christ. 4-9
- The church is to seek to be perfectly joined together in the same mind with the same judgment instead of being divided over issues such as who we like to identify with in leadership in the church.10-16
- The gospel is to be preached in a way that makes the atoning work of Christ on the cross effectual instead of with wisdom of words that would take away from focus on this. 17-20
- The preaching of Christ crucified is the wisdom and power of God to those who are called of God and Christ is also the very source of wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption so that we can only glory in God in Christ. 21-31
