Our beliefs about ourselves started forming in early childhood. Some are no longer useful to us now. We can identify them, recognise they helped us survive at the time then move forward with creating new ones that make for sense for today. We can do all that without railing at ourselves, our beliefs or our parents and others whose words and actions were the stimulus that led to the beliefs.
