In 2012, Brian Carpenter, or Carp, as he’s known, did what relatively few people have accomplished: he thru-hiked the entire Appalachian Trail — all 2,200 miles of it. Carp felt a stirring towards both nature and challenge, and he followed that stirring to it’s almost illogical end. Quitting his job and leaving his wife behind, he spent nearly 6 months in the wilderness on a journey that would shape his life for years to come.
