SOLAR MONEY SAVINGS
Last year I was paying to first $300HKD of the electric bill, this year I only pay the first $150HKD.

July/Aug bill - $157. Saved $143 (+ 150 compared to last year).
June/July bill - $155. Saved $145 (+ 150 compared to last year).
May/June bill - $72. Saved $218 (+ 150 compared to last year).
April/May bill - $60. Saved $240 (+ 150 compared to last year).
Mar/April bill - $93. Saved $57 (+ 150 compared to last year).
Feb/Mar bill - $80. Saved $70 (+ 150 compared to last year).
Jan/Feb bill - $42. Saved $110 (+ 150 compared to last year).
Dec/Jan bill - $101. Saved $49 (+ 150 compared to last year).
Nov/Dec bill - $147. Saved $3 (+ 150 compared to last year).
Spent $907HKD on electric Since Nov 2018 ($115USD)
Saved $1785HKD on electric Since Nov 2018 ($228USD)
From the $1785 saved since November 2018, $1350HKD from lowering my contribution ($172USD) and $435HKD came from using the solar battery ($55USD)
Costs broken down:
1,960 (250USD) panels
2,140 (273USD) panels
3,913 (500USD) battery
Total - $1023USD to recoup
But so far I’ve paid off $230USD from $1023USD in ten months. The initial projection was to pay everything off in 4 years.
YOGHURT MONEY SAVINGS
$800 a month ($100) was the normal amount I’d spend on store bought yoghurt. I bought the Level yogurt maker for $855 ($112).
August yoghurt cost me $1008HKD ($129USD)
September yoghurt cost me $450HKD ($58USD)
For 2 normal months assume a maximum cost of $1600HKD for yogurt. These past two months it has been $1458HKD. While only a saving of $140HKD, the next month will the second full month of making yoghurt on my own with further refinements to the process. I expect to pay off the yoghurt maker in two months.
