Jesus has called us to follow Him – the mark of us as believers is to become like Him. He lived a disciplined, self-controlled life and we can choose to do that as well. It will take discipline to turn the other cheek, to bless those who curse us, to love our enemies, etc. We can do it if we fix our eyes on Jesus and ask for His help, keeping our eyes on the eternal prize.
