January 23rd was the “first in the nation” New Hampshire primary, a status that NH has held for more than a century! A law was put in place in 1975 that cements that status. Despite the DNC’s efforts to change their primary calendar and prioritize South Carolina, politicians flocked to NH to see who came out on top with the voters.
