Over the weekend, militant group Hamas launched a surprise, highly coordinated attack by land, air, and sea on Israel. The assault has left more than seven hundred dead in the country. In response to the attack, Israel bombarded the Gaza Strip with airstrikes Monday, killing over five hundred Palestinians in retaliation.
