The Boston suburb of Brookline adopted a new health measure that prohibits tobacco or e-cigarette sales to anyone born on or after Jan. 1, 2000. The measure went into effect in 2021. While Brookline’s rule cracks down on youth tobacco use, it essentially also bars any future generations from purchasing tobacco. It may be clever but is it legal?
