Boston Mayor Michelle Wu announced that veteran Boston police officer Michael Cox will become the new Boston Police Commissioner. Cox was serving as the chief of police in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and will return to Boston to build a better department, increase community engagement, and ensure all police officers have the support and tools necessary to effectively serve the public. Cox outlined in his acceptance speech that his top priority is to get police officers back out into the community to re-establish trust and get direct feedback from the citizens. Dan spoke with former Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis who was on the five-member search committee for candidates.
