As if opiates were not already a big problem in Massachusetts with an estimated 18,500 opioid related overdose deaths reported over the last 11 years, there’s a new addictive sweeping the state. An animal tranquilizer called xylazine is now being commonly found in various street drug cocktails. Dr. Bertha Madras professor of Psychobiology at Harvard Medical School and director of McLean’s Laboratory of Addiction Neurobiology joined Jordan to discuss.
