Microtonal choral music is exciting and intense! Robert Lopez-Hanshaw premiered a piece in 72-tone equal temperament featuring the Tucson Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, “vokas animo,” which we talk about here! We explore techniques to train the average choir in singing microtones, out of contexts that use guide-tracks or expert performers. Discover why we need more repertoire that accomplishes this feat.
