WHAT HAPPENED 

SATURDAY, APRIL 23RD-GENERAL TIRE 200 AT TALLADEGA 

Local Kart track graduates Amber Balcaen and Bryce Haugeberg took to the Talladega Superspeedway Saturday for ARCA competition.  Both drivers avoided carnage and finished on the lead lap with Balcaen finishing in 9th and Haugeberg finishing in 18th. 

WORLD OF OUTLAWS 

SATURDAY, APRIL 23RD: TRI-STATE SPEEDWAY 

Carson Macedo won for the second week in a row and third straight win at Tri-State Speedway.  Macedo outran Brad Sweet, Sheldon Haudenschild, Spencer Bayston, and Logan Schuchart to round out the top five.  Donny Schatz got shuffled back after getting in a late race skirmish but rebounded to finish 12th.

NASCAR 

SUNDAY, APRIL 24TH-GEICO 500 AT TALLADEGA 

“The Watermelon Man” Ross Chastain became the second repeat winner of the year by surviving a crazy last lap to win at Talladega.  Chastain secured his second won of his career in a car that was previously won with at the Circuit of the Americas in Fort Worth, TX.  Chastain bested Austin Dillon, Kyle Busch, Kyle Larson, and Martin Truex Jr in the win. 

Winless Chase Elliot leads the regular season points over also winless Ryan Blaney by 21 points, the other two-timer William Byron by 34, one-timer Kyle Busch by 56, and Kyle’s best buddy Alex Bowman by 59.
