How do you know when you’re tethered?

Today, I share a story today of a realization that came to me while walking in a Portlandian snow storm.

The cultural, societal, relational, and personal tethers we hold are not always visible to us. Like the snow that lands on a spider’s web, sometimes it takes an event or question or shift in perspective for the tether to reveal itself to us.

Often, we find that the tether has been there for a while. Or it’s a recurring tether that keeps popping back up.

I hope this episode gives you a few things:

  • Comfort - That you aren’t alone in your experience.
  • Validation - That your experience with a tether is real and unique.
  • Acceptance - That it’s okay for tethers to be there. They get to exist. You get to brush them off. They get to come back. Allowing this can be a magical shift.

What did you think of this episode? I’d love to hear!

XO Jen
