Dr Simon Walters - senior lecturer at the Auckland University of Technology - whose research areas include children in sport, athlete centred coaching, coach development, and sideline behaviour, talks to Jason Pine about North Harbour Rugby's decision to ditch representative rugby programmes.
Dr Walters says the research both in New Zealand and abroad points to this being the correct decision, especially if we want to keep kids in sport for longer.
