Instead, we need to encourage the saints to receive a burden from the Lord to pray for the spread of His recovery so that the Lord may lead them to migrate to new localities in the move of His Body.” (Witness Lee, The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1981, vol. 1, p. 384, Living Stream Ministry)

As believers who love the Lord and who are standing for His testimony, we must not be ignorant of the schemes of God’s enemy in his attacks on the church. In order to help educate and inoculate us against such attacks, the co-workers in North America have released a series of articles on ShepherdingWords.com, which exposes the stratagems of the devil.
This week we have a narration of the article titled “Encountering Opposition.” This article addresses an unpleasant subject - being confronted by those who speak against us - and a surprisingly pleasant way to respond to them. This is not a set of instructions on how to defeat opposition, but an admonition for us to realize that those humans who oppose us are not our enemies. We should approach them in love and take the Lord Jesus as grace to empower us to not be offended by their speaking. Further, we should pray for them and seek to minister something positive of the truth to them.
May the Lord supply us through this speaking and equip us to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand (Ephesians 6:13).

“For if you forgive men their offenses, your heavenly Father will forgive you also; But if you do not forgive men their offenses, neither will your Father forgive your offenses” (Matt. 6:14-15).
“And his master became angry and delivered him to the torturers until he would repay all that was owed. So also will My heavenly Father do to you if each of you does not forgive his brother from your hearts” (Matt. 18:34-35).
This week we conclude the series with fellowship from brother Ron Kangas responding to questions from working saints during a conference held in the Northeast of the United States in September 2019.
“Moses, the man who was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians and who was mighty in words and deeds (Acts 7:22), was now a little shepherd in the wilderness, a defeated and dejected man. One day, in the midst of his disappointment, God came. God appeared to Moses in a vision of a burning bush, a bush that burned without being consumed (Exo. 3:2, 16). Moses was surprised and turned aside to see this bush. It was as if God was saying to Moses, ‘Moses, you must be like this burning bush. Do not burn by yourself or act by yourself.’ ” (Witness Lee, Life-study of Genesis, p. 189, Living Stream Ministry)
This week we continue the series with fellowship from brother Ron Kangas responding to questions from working saints during a conference held in the Northeast of the United States in September 2019.
The subjective experience in dealing with the flesh is completely related to the Holy Spirit. A very major and basic work of the Holy Spirit dwelling in us is to work into us the fact that Christ has crucified the flesh on the cross. In other words, the work of the Holy Spirit is to have the cross on Calvary wrought into us to become the cross within us. Therefore, the subjective experience in dealing with the flesh is being executed by the Holy Spirit in us. (Witness Lee, The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1953, vol. 3, p. 376, Living Stream Ministry)

“Wives, be subject to your own husbands as to the Lord; For a husband is head of the wife as also Christ is Head of the church…Husbands, love your wives even as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her” (Eph 5:22-23, 25)

Dear brothers and sisters, our future is the Lord’s coming back. We are not here miserably longing for His return…We are awaiting the Lord’s coming back by daily experiencing His organic salvation… We cannot remain in the stage of regeneration; rather, we must cooperate with the Lord for Him to renew, sanctify, transform, conform, and glorify us so that God’s organic salvation may be accomplished in us for the fulfillment of His eternal economy. (Witness Lee, The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1994-1997, vol. 5, p. 488, Living Stream Ministry)

“Recently, I heard a saying that the working saints are the backbone of the church. I feel that this description is most appropriate. The working saints are the backbone of the church. The backbone is a very important part of a man’s body. In the same way the working saints are very important in the new way in the Lord’s recovery.” (Witness Lee, Messages Given to the Working Saints, p. 61, Living Stream Ministry)

“The phrase ‘living to Him’ is difficult to translate. It does not mean to live for the Lord. It means to live unto Him. To live to Him means that we and the Lord are one. It is like a wife living to her husband in the marriage life. In such a way we live a life of living to the Lord and being one with Him.” (Witness Lee, Messages Given to the Working Saints, p. 89, Living Stream Ministry)

Let us lodge in the villages.

Finally, be empowered in the Lord and in the might of His strength. Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the stratagems of the devil, For our wrestling is not against blood and flesh but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenlies. Therefore take up the whole armor of God that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Ephesians 6:10-13.

In the Old and New Testament there are warnings against bearing false witness, spreading rumors, and evil speaking. In our daily life and especially on the internet through social media, the words that we speak and write may be easily amplified. As this article warns, we need to exercise great care in what we post, “like”, and share less we inadvertently bear false witness or spread rumors.
May the Lord supply us through this speaking and equip us to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

I believe that the Lord will preserve the United States for His purpose to spread the church life from this country to many other countries on earth. We need to be burdened and ready to bear the responsibility to migrate for the Lord’s move.” (Witness Lee, The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1971, vol. 2, p. 485, Living Stream Ministry)

“The Lord will first recover the proper church life in the United States, and then He will use the United States as a central base from which to spread His recovery throughout the earth. I have no doubt that this is the Lord’s recovery. From the beginning, everything related to the Lord’s recovery in this country has been miraculous—it has not been man’s doing but the Lord’s.” (Witness Lee, The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1968, vol. 2, p. 593, Living Stream Ministry)

“Today we must prepare ourselves to be the Bride [of Christ] by taking in the element of Christ’s riches as our nourishment. Christ is the food for the church. “The Lord will search us, purge us, cleanse us, anoint us, and speak to us in our morning watch. He will accomplish much with us in a living way. Our contact with the Lord depends on our cooperation with Him. We cooperate with Him by loving Him, consecrating ourselves to Him, and standing on the ground of our consecration to contact Him day by day. The best time to read the Word and pray in a living way is early in the morning.” (Witness Lee, The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1961–1962, vol. 4, p. 29, Living Stream Ministry)

“A proper Christian life has three aspects: fighting the good fight against Satan and his kingdom of darkness for the interests of God’s kingdom; running the course for the carrying out of God’s economy according to His eternal purpose; and keeping the faith for participation in the divine riches in God’s economy. In this Paul set up an adequate pattern for us.” (Witness Lee, Holy Bible Recovery Version, 2 Tim. 4:7, note 1, Living Stream Ministry)

“Whatever one loves, his whole heart, even his entire being, is set on and occupied and possessed by. This is crucial! “A person who knows how to work will always seek to perfect others. This does not mean that he does less work. Rather, he works more than the rest of the saints, because most of his work is to perfect the saints. After he has served for three to five years, the saints can do and are doing whatever he can do. This is the way for us to build up the church.” (Witness Lee, The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1958, vol. 1, p. 131, Living Stream Ministry)

“The Lord is living and purposeful. But what is His ultimate move? To say that the Lord Jesus will come back to clear up things on earth is true… but clearing up things is not His ultimate move… God’s ultimate move is to work Himself—Father, Son, and Spirit—into us and to become our life, that we may live Him out and express Him as His Body, the church.” (Witness Lee, The World Situation and God's Move, p. 324, Living Stream Ministry)

In our spiritual experience there is a beginning, a course, and an ending, after which we experience another beginning with another course and another ending. This cycle repeats itself, and each repetition takes us forward. The beginning, course, and ending are a spiritual metabolism. This is also a law of revival. Every new beginning is a new revival and is followed by a course. When the course reaches its fullness, the experiences in that stage come to an end. Then another beginning will ensue with another course and another ending. This is the cycle of revival. (Witness Lee, The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1960, vol. 2, p. 384, Living Stream Ministry)

“If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and are not practicing the truth” (1 John 1:6).
“This Greek verb [for practicing] denotes doing (things) habitually and continually by abiding (in the things); hence, it has the sense of practice. To practice the truth is to live the truth habitually, not merely to do it occasionally.” (Witness Lee, Holy Bible Recovery Version, 1 John 1:6, note 5, Living Stream Ministry)

“Eating, drinking, and sleeping cause our physical life to grow. Similarly, our spiritual life grows by eating, drinking, and sleeping, that is, by our being revived. In 2 Corinthians 12:10 the apostle Paul says, ‘I am well pleased in weaknesses...; for when I am weak, then I am powerful.’ Paul knew how…to touch the joy of Christ when he suffered. He also was able to apply the law of revival; hence, he was always being revived.” (Witness Lee, The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1960, vol. 2, p. 398, Living Stream Ministry)

“Our work today is to perfect others to do the work themselves. We are not here to work in place of others. Paul produced Timothy as his disciple, and then Timothy committed the work to faithful ones (2 Tim. 2:2). These faithful ones then went out and perfected others. This is the way of our work today.” (Witness Lee, The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1932-1949, vol. 2, pp. 406-407, Living Stream Ministry)
This week we conclude the series titled, "The Age of Intensification," with speaking from brother Andrew Yu on service. “What is our burden? What is our responsibility? We must not just preach the gospel. We must bear the testimony of Jesus...Our responsibility is to live Christ, to bear a living witness to Him in our daily life, to know nothing but Christ, the all-inclusive One revealed in the completing ministry of Paul and the mending ministry of John.” (Witness Lee, The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1981, vol. 1, p. 354, Living Stream Ministry)

This episode was originally aired in January 2021. In this special new year fellowship, brother Minoru Chen shares with us his personal experience and practice of spending a longer period of time with the Lord at the beginning of each new year. During such a time with the Lord, our brother encourages us to practice 6 things: recall, rehearse, reflect, repent, renew, and reset. He also encourages us to gather our family together for a dedicated time in the Lord's presence and reaffirm that our household is for the Lord.
May the Lord gain our fresh consecration as we start this year and begin a new chapter with Him. "Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you." - James 4:8a

As believers who love the Lord and who are standing for His testimony, we must not be ignorant of the schemes of God’s enemy in his attacks on the church. In order to help educate and inoculate us against such attacks, the co-workers in North America have released a series of articles on ShepherdingWords.com, which expose the stratagems of the devil.
This week, we have a narration of the article titled “Quenching the Flaming Darts of the Enemy” originally published on February 14, 2022. In order to be part of God’s corporate warrior in Ephesians 6, we must learn how to quench the flaming darts of the enemy, which may come to us directly or through people who are full of their own thoughts and opinions. These darts include temptations, doubts, criticisms, slandering and accusations particularly of leading ones, all with the goal of undermining the building up of the church (Matt. 16:18). As this article explains, we can and must learn to take up the shield of faith to quench these darts (Eph. 6:16) both through our long-term constitution and daily practice of spending time with the Lord first thing in the morning.
May the Lord supply us through this speaking and equip us to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

“For the kingdom of the heavens is just like a man about to go abroad, who called his own slaves and delivered to them his possessions. To one he gave five talents, and to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability” (Matt. 25:14-15a).
This week we begin a new series titled, "Taking the Initiative," with speaking from brother Andrew Yu on being active to care for the Lord’s possessions and receive talents from Him. This is part one of message two from a conference hosted by the church in New York City in November 2015.

“We should have a budget for our time, our energy, and our finances. When people talk about budgeting, most of them consider only finances. But according to my experience, even our energy has to be budgeted. I know how much strength I have. Every day I can use only a certain amount of strength. Timewise, every week and every day we should set aside some time for the Lord. In budgeting your finances, you should offer up what you have in excess according to the prosperity that the Lord has provided you (Acts 11:29; 1 Cor. 16:2).” (Witness Lee, Messages Given to the Working Saints, pp. 390-392, Living Stream Ministry)

For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (Matt. 6:31-33).

“During our time with the Lord, we should not allow any distractions to come in. If someone calls us on the telephone while we are having a time with the Lord, we should have the attitude that since we are fellowshipping with the Lord, we are absent from everything else because we are fully occupied by Him. In order to have a profitable time with the Lord, we must be absent from everything and occupied only by Him.” (Witness Lee, The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1977, vol. 2, pp 158-159, Living Stream Ministry)

“Near the end of his life Paul wrote 1 and 2 Timothy and Titus…because he realized from his experience that there was the need for training. The training builds us up in the growth of life, in character, and in dealing with the natural disposition. Strictly speaking, it is not our nature but our disposition that needs to be touched and dealt with.” (Witness Lee, The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1973–1974, vol. 2, pp. 522-525, Living Stream Ministry)

“In order for an Israelite to serve as a priest, he had to be between thirty and fifty years old. This signifies that in order for us to share the responsibility of serving in the testimony of God, we need to be more mature and without deterioration. The Lord Jesus came out to serve at the age of thirty (Luke 3:23). This signifies that according to spiritual reality, He was mature, strong, rich, and able to maintain the testimony of God when He began to minister on the earth.” (Witness Lee, The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1960, vol. 1, p. 84, Living Stream Ministry)

In the book of Numbers, God asked Moses to number His people according to their age. In particular, God charged a specific group of Levites “to do the work of service and the work of bearing burdens in the Tent of Meeting (4:47).” Although these age groups are Old Testament types and not to be applied literally in the New Testament, we can apply their spiritual principles to our experiences in the church life today.

“The working saints are the core group in the church life today. On the one hand, Christ desires to gain you. On the other hand, the world wants to occupy you. Are you going to go after the world? “If the working brothers and sisters are to be adequately and properly participating in the church life, they need to receive the life supply continuously.
This week, we have a narration of the article entitled “Assailing the Ground of Oneness (4): Are “House Churches” Biblical?” originally published on December 16, 2019. As “house churches” gain popularity among believers, partly as an alternative to large denominations, we must carefully examine their scriptural basis in the New Testament. Proponents of “house churches” claim that there are New Testament examples of such churches within the cities of Rome, Laodicea and Colossae. This article, however, points out clearly the error of such claims by closely examining each of the scriptural passages, all of which describe how believers met together as local churches (one church in one city) and not as “house churches.” No matter the justification, teaching concerning many house churches in a city divides the Body of Christ and must be repudiated by us for the sake of the oneness among the believers.
May the Lord supply us through this speaking and equip us to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

In order to help educate and inoculate us against such attacks, the co-workers in North America have released a series of articles on ShepherdingWords.com, which expose the stratagems of the devil.
This week, we have a narration of the article entitled “Assailing the Ground of Oneness (3): Was the Church in Jerusalem a “Regional” Church?” originally published on December 16, 2019. The New Testament clearly reveals that the proper church life should be practiced on the ground of locality, where the boundary of each church is no larger and no smaller than the city it is in (cf. Acts 14:23, Titus 1:5, Rev. 1:11). Some, however, have misinterpreted Acts 9:31 and argued that the church in Jerusalem was a regional church, which has jurisdiction over an area broader than the boundary of a city. This erroneous teaching assails the ground of oneness and produces a hierarchical system in which a central church exercises control over smaller churches. By properly expounding Acts 9:31 through the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee, this article describes the biblical pattern of local churches practicing oneness in fellowship, without the existence of a regional church.
May the Lord supply us through this speaking and equip us to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
“Today the church is full of young and middle-aged saints and has many fathers also. God’s present need is for these two groups. If they are present, the new way will succeed. Without them the new way will have problems.” (Witness Lee, Messages Given to the Working Saints, p. 364, Living Stream Ministry)
This week we begin a new series titled, “Vision and Commission,” with brothers and sisters testifying of their experiences of the church life in different localities. This meeting was held during the 2014 International Memorial Day Conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

In forming a [vital] group, the first step is to get a companion. The second step is to pray together and fellowship together in order to know each other in a thorough and intimate way. After this, the Lord may lead you to pray for a period of time. After praying for two weeks, you may be ready, and the Lord may lead you to go out to visit people. (Witness Lee, Fellowship concerning the Urgent Need of the Vital Groups, p. 377, Living Stream Ministry)
This week we continue the series titled, “Vital Companions,” with additional testimonies and sharing from brother Andrew Yu on building up proper companionships in the church life. This meeting was held during the 2013 International Thanksgiving Conference in Schaumburg, Illinois.

“We should not try to always work by ourselves. We should go to others to fellowship and receive help from them. Even if we feel assured that we can do something, we should still fellowship with someone else, because there is always something new for us to learn from others. Two are better than one, and three are better than two (Eccl. 4:9-12; Mark 6:7). We must learn the lesson of always keeping the principle of the Body.” (Witness Lee, Bearing Fruit in a Living and Coordinated Way for the Building Up of the Body of Christ, pp. 279, Living Stream Ministry)

And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they loved not their soul-life even unto death” (Rev. 12:10-11).

In order to help educate and inoculate us against such attacks, the co-workers in North America have released a series of articles on ShepherdingWords.com, which expose the stratagems of the devil.
This week, we have a narration of the article entitled “Assailing the Ground of Oneness (2): Diligently Keeping the Oneness Requiring a Local Ground,” originally published on October 26, 2020. The New Testament emphatically teaches that the church is one and that this oneness should be preserved by and practiced on the ground of locality, which is the ground of one church in one city. By invoking the oneness of the Spirit and of the Body in Ephesians 4, some Christians question whether the ground of locality is truly necessary for the oneness of the church. By expounding Ephesians 4 in the greater context of the New Testament, this article shows how the ground of locality is indeed vital and necessary for the oneness of the church, enabling the believers “to keep the oneness of the Spirit in the uniting bond of peace” (Eph. 4:3).
May the Lord supply us through this speaking and equip us to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

This week, we have a narration of the article entitled “Assailing the Ground of Oneness (1): the Genuine Ground of the Church According to the Teaching and Practice of the New Testament,” originally published on October 26, 2020. There is much confusion and debate among Christians today about what the church is and how it should be practiced. This is despite the fact that the New Testament clearly portrays how the church was formed and practiced among the early believers. By claiming that such portrayals are merely descriptive rather than prescriptive, some have excused non-biblical bases of establishing churches and the practice of alternative “church” models. Some even go as far as attacking the genuine ground of the church and those who stand for it. Using numerous verses from the New Testament, this article clearly defines the church in its two aspects and the practice of the church based on locality.
May the Lord supply us through this speaking and equip us to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

"And day by day, continuing steadfastly with one accord in the temple and breaking bread from house to house, they partook of their food with exultation and simplicity of heart, praising God and having grace with all the people. "Although He is almighty and omnipotent, God can do nothing in time if man is not one with Him and if He cannot gain man’s cooperation. In this matter He has limited Himself to man’s will…Whenever there are men on the earth who choose to stand on God’s side and live for Him, He will find an outlet, manifest His power, and fulfill His will through them." (Witness Lee, The Ministry of the Word, Miscellaneous Messages, 1954, chapter 2, Living Stream Ministry)

This week, we have a narration of the article entitled “A Harmonious Coordination between Generations to Advance God’s Move,” originally published on October 28, 2021. Because God’s move spans multiple generations, the precious lessons learned by one generation must be passed down to the next generation (Psa. 78:1-7; Deut. 4:9-10; 2 Tim. 2:1-2). Otherwise, these lessons will need to be repeated, thereby frustrating God's move. Realizing this, God’s enemy Satan often sows distrust and enmity in order to cause a generational rift in the church. As ones caring for God’s interest and move on the earth, we should on the one hand discern and reject this insidious tactic, and on the other hand honor and treasure such coordination between the generations.

Because of its absolute stand for God’s interest on the earth, the Lord’s recovery is constantly under attack from God’s enemy, which often comes in the form of negative writings and speakings. Under God’s sovereignty, some members in the Body of Christ have the spiritual maturity, discernment, and function to warn fellow members to steer clear of such attacks, which are particularly rampant on the Internet. This function of the mature ones is not out of a desire to hide the so-called “truth” of a certain situation or to exercise control over the freedom of others, but out of their care for their fellow members in the Body of Christ.
May the Lord supply us through this speaking and equip us to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

“But the people who know their God will show strength and take action” (Dan. 11:32b).
This week’s episode concludes the series entitled, “The Lord's Present Move,” with speaking from brother Minoru Chen. In this portion he shares the positive history seen with Judas Maccabeus as an inspiration for our service today in standing for God's building and caring for Christ and the church. This meeting was held in October 2010 in Irvine, California.

Revelation 2 and 3 reveal that the Lord is walking in the midst of the local churches and speaking to each church according to its condition. At the same time, these messages given to the different churches are what the Spirit is speaking to all the churches as the Body of Christ. In this series of podcasts, we bring you the Lord’s speaking in local and regional conferences so that we may hear what the Spirit is speaking to all of us today.
This week, we continue with message two from a regional conference with brother Ed Marks from April 23-24, 2022 in the church in New York City. The general subject of this conference is "God's Economy in Faith". The title of this message is “The Linking Faith—the Faith of the Overcomers.”

“It is one thing to have a heart to serve the Lord; it is another thing to be willing to hand over everything. Have we handed everything over to the church? If we have not, what should we do? We all know that we should hand over ourselves to the Lord. But practically speaking, have we handed ourselves over?”
(Witness Lee, Messages Given During the Resumption of Watchman Nee's Ministry, Chapter 60, Living Stream Ministry)
This week’s episode continues the series entitled, “The Lord's Present Move,” with speaking from brother Minoru Chen on living an overcoming life and being today's Zion (the overcomers) in today's Jerusalem (the church). This meeting was held in October 2010 in Irvine, California.

“We dig the well through prayer. The more thoroughly we pray, the deeper we dig… If we want our spirit to be strong and released so that God can flow out of us, we must exercise our spirit through prayer daily. Then our spirit will be strong, and we will be able to express the sense within our spirit." (Witness Lee, The Exercise of the Spirit and the Building of God, chapter 5, Living Stream Ministry)
This week’s episode begins a new series entitled, “The Lord's Present Move” with speaking from brother Minoru Chen on the working saints’ responsibility in the church life, striving to pursue the Lord, and exercising to go higher and deeper in our prayer. This meeting was held in October 2010 in Irvine, California.

“[The third stage of the experience of life] brings us to the starting point of another aspect in the Christian experience, and this serves as a great turning point for a Christian before the Lord….it is at this stage that a Christian begins to walk formally in the way of the cross, having the experience of the cross and walking entirely under the cross. Therefore, from this time on, his spiritual walk enters into a new stage” (Witness Lee, The Experience of Life, Chapter 9. Living Stream Ministry).
In this week's episode we conclude the series entitled, “Supply, Function, and the Meal Offering,” with speaking from brother Ron Kangas on our passing through the third stage of the experience of life in the midst of our ordinary daily living. This meeting was held in November 2010 in the Northwest of the United States.

"All limitation is for our benefit….In our home, at work, and in the church, God has provided us with many limitations. These are opportunities from the Lord to smooth out our rough edges….We should not struggle to be free. Freedom will not build us up. The building work comes when we are restricted in our environment” (Watchman Nee, The Collected Works of Watchman Nee, Volume 43, Chapter 82, Living Stream Ministry).
In this week's episode we continue the series entitled, “Supply, Function, and the Meal Offering,” with speaking from brother Ron Kangas on four matters related to our learning to live a life of the meal offering. This meeting was held in November 2010 in the Northwest of the United States.

In order to help educate and inoculate us against such attacks, the co-workers in North America have released a series of articles on ShepherdingWords.com, which expose the stratagems of the devil.
This week, we have a narration of the article entitled “Should We Not Warn One Another?,” originally published on October 28, 2021. Today, many Christian teachers speak only words of comfort and affirmation while avoiding the numerous warnings that are given throughout the New Testament. If we are faithful to the Lord and His word, we shall see that these warnings are the healthy teaching that will motivate us to live an overcoming Christian life which prepares us to stand before the judgment seat of Christ, when we shall receive either reward or punishment (2 Cor. 5:10). Having been warned, we should also warn others, not out of fearmongering but out of love.
May the Lord supply us through this speaking and equip us to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

“We must deal with the problems of our heart one by one. We must deal with a heart that leans toward things other than God, an indifferent heart, a divided heart, and a heart that is not absolute, not calm, and full of worries and cares. Then it will be easy for our spirit to contact the Spirit” (Watchman Nee, The Sufficiency, Pursuit, and Learning of the Lord's Serving Ones, Chapter 9, Living Stream Ministry).
This week’s episode continues the series entitled, “Supply, Function, and the Meal Offering,” with speaking from brother James Lee on dealing with the heart to receive the supply from the Lord. This meeting was held in November 2010 in the Northwest of the United States.

This week’s episode begins a new series entitled, “Supply, Function, and the Meal Offering,” with speaking from brother James Lee on how we can be delivered from discouragement and pride in our service to the Lord. This meeting was held in November 2010 in the Northwest of the United States.

This week, we have a narration of the article entitled “Our Basic Choice,” originally published on April 2, 2021. After leading them to the threshold of the good land, Moses said to the children of Israel, “I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse; therefore choose life that you and your seed may live” (Deut. 30:19). Today, Satan attacks the church mainly with death (Matt. 16:18), which may come in the form of words that spread lies, reckless accusations, and division, and are especially rampant on the internet and social media. Therefore, we need to develop a strong sense of life to discern the source and nature of men’s words (Rom. 8:6), and choose to stay on the constricted way that leads to life (Matthew 7:14).
May the Lord supply us through this speaking and equip us to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

"When we pass through the stages of fellowship, confession, and consecration, we enter into a prayer life. It is in this prayer life that we pray ourselves into the Spirit—the essential Spirit, the economical Spirit, the all-inclusive Spirit. Then we learn how to follow this Spirit by exercising our spirit. If this is the case with us, we are really vital" (Witness Lee, Fellowship concerning the Urgent Need of the Vital Groups, Chapter 24, Living Stream Ministry).

This week, we have a narration of the article entitled “God’s Economy, Different Teaching, and the Central Line of the Bible,” originally published on March 23, 2021. In 1 Timothy 1:3-4 the apostle Paul asked Timothy to charge certain ones not to teach different things but to focus on God’s economy. Based on this charge as well as the central revelation of the Bible, the ministry in the Lord’s recovery uncompromisingly stresses the working out of God’s economy. Throughout the years, however, some have rejected this emphasis and instead insisted on teaching their own interpretations and emphases. Using a number of scriptural references, this article outlines the central line of God’s economy and explains the seriousness of teaching differently.
May the Lord supply us through this speaking and equip us to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

On the surface, the notion of reading only the “pure word” without man’s interpretation seems admirable. In actuality, however, this notion is unbiblical, impractical, and even dangerous. Using examples from the Bible and church history, this article clearly explains the errors of this notion and presents a proper and balanced approach to understanding the Bible.

Hi everyone! We hope you’ve been enjoying the Living to Him podcast!
This month marks the one year anniversary of the podcast, so we wanted to take a moment to reflect on the past year, and let you know what we have planned for this coming year.
The Living to Him Podcast began out of a burden to re-release fellowship given to the working saints, in short excepts, through an easily to access podcast format. That fellowship to the working saints, which began in 2007, initiated the burden for the Living to Him platform, and has formed the content of the podcast over the past year. We hope you’ve been nourished and enlivened by these short episodes to live to the Lord in your daily life.
In addition, in July of 2021, we began to release audio recordings of articles from the website Shepherding Words.com. These articles from the co-workers in North America touch on important matters which may not be commonly talked about, including the sanctity of human life, the relationship between Living Stream Ministry and the churches, and the distinction between God’s government and God’s grace as well as crucial topics of the truth and our understanding of the Bible.
This year, a new series will be added to the podcast. In addition to the Monday series on fellowship to the working saints and the monthly series of Shepherding Words articles, a new series will feature local and regional conferences of the Lord’s present speaking to the churches. Each conference podcast will include an entire message. We hope this brings more of the Lord’s speaking into your home, your office, your car, and ultimately, into your heart.
If you have enjoyed this podcast, we hope you would share it with your companions. May the Lord’s grace superabound to you this coming year and may we all live to the Lord as we await His return!

This week, we have a narration of the article entitled “Concerning Allegorizing the Bible,” originally published on October 26, 2020. Allegorizing the Bible means to extract the spiritual meaning from the literal words of the Bible. Some people argue that it is wrong to allegorize any portion of the Bible that is not explicitly interpreted in the New Testament. However, throughout the centuries many reputable Bible teachers have recognized that many portions of the Scriptures symbolize spiritual truths, in addition to their literal meaning. This article lays out some of these portions and explains three important principles in interpreting the Bible’s figurative language.
May the Lord supply us through this speaking and equip us to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

"By faith Abraham, being called, obeyed to go out unto a place which he was to receive as an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he dwelt as a foreigner in the land of promise as in a foreign land, making his home in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the fellow heirs of the same promise; For he eagerly waited for the city which has the foundations, whose Architect and Builder is God" (Heb. 11:8-10).

This week, we have a narration of the article entitled “Forgiveness and the Building Up of the Body of Christ,” originally published on March 31, 2021. In the New Testament, the matter of forgiveness is intimately tied to the practice of the church life. In fact, forgiveness is a crucial factor in practicing the church life for the building up of the Body of Christ. Using examples from the Word and from Witness Lee’s ministry, this article clearly lays out this relationship so that we may learn to forgive one another as God in Christ forgave us (Eph. 4:32; Col. 3:13).
May the Lord supply us through this speaking and equip us to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

"Acts 8:4 says, 'Those therefore who were scattered went about the land bringing the good news of the word.' The Lord’s move can be as slow as a wagon or as fast as an airplane; it depends on our learning to cooperate with the Lord in and through prayer. In particular, we should pray to be vitalized, to have vital companions, to have the gospel as part of our living, and to move in God’s move through migration.
Today we continue the series entitled, “Carrying out the New Way,” with excerpts taken from a time of fellowship with brother Andrew Yu on July 4, 2009 in Anaheim, California. In this episode, our brother shares practical points on how we can cooperate with the Lord for His move.

This week, we have a narration of the article entitled “Three Foundational Truths and Why They Matter,” originally released on October 26, 2020. This article clearly presents three categories of truth—the Triune God, God’s salvation in life, and the ground of the church, and why they matter to God’s eternal purpose. For decades, the teaching of these truths in the Lord’s recovery have been misunderstood and even opposed. Therefore, it is vitally important that we as God’s people would know and enter into these truths, and be equipped to defend them (2 Tim. 2:15; 1 Pet. 3:15), for the accomplishment of God’s eternal economy.
May the Lord supply us through this speaking and equip us to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

In each of the three Old Testament books of Exodus (ch. 30), Leviticus (ch. 27), and Numbers (ch. 4), God’s numbering of His people is mentioned. While each record of numbering has a different perspective and emphasis, they all have much to do with our spiritual experiences today.

He who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit….These things I have spoken to you that My joy may be in you and that your joy may be made full.” These verses show us that when we preach the gospel and lead others to salvation, our joy is made full.

We have an enemy who does not want our heart to be available to the Lord. Rather than attacking us directly, the enemy causes thorns to grow up alongside the Word that has been sown in our heart.
Today we continue the series entitled “Our Heart,” with excerpts taken from a time of fellowship with brother Ron Kangas in Anaheim, CA on January 14th, 2009. In this episode our brother expounds three categories of thorns: the anxiety of the age, the deceitfulness of riches, and the pleasures of this life, and emphasizes the importance of our exercise to turn our heart to the Lord every morning so He can make His home in our heart.

The parable of the sower reveals that God’s economy is carried out by the Triune God as a man, the Lord Jesus, sowing Himself as the word into our heart. In each account as recorded in Matthew, Mark and Luke, thorns are mentioned. These thorns signify the anxiety of the age, the deceitfulness of riches, and the pleasures of this life, all of which utterly choke the word, preventing it from growing in our heart and bearing fruit.
In this episode, we begin a new series entitled “Our Heart,” with excerpts taken from a time of fellowship with brother Ron Kangas in Anaheim, CA on January 14th, 2009. In this message entitled “Having a Heart Without Thorns,” brother Ron expounds on the different categories of thorns, and describes how the Lord deals with them in our heart.

“For the love of Christ constrains us,” was the Apostle Paul’s testimony of the powerful mighty tide that energized and motivated him to live to Christ (2 Cor. 5:14). Then I said, Alas, Lord Jehovah! / Indeed, I do not know how to speak, / For I am a youth. “In order to meet the Lord's present need, we must first recall our past experiences and vision. I believe that all of you have had some experiences and some vision in the past. Now we have to recall them….Third, we have to renew our past commitment and consecration. In the past many of us have had a heart for the Lord and have consecrated ourselves to the Lord. Now we need to have these renewed. Fourth, we need to set aside some time and specifically budget our lives. We have to set down some guidelines for our lives. Every believer, without one exception, should be such a one. As long as you are a believer, you have to realize that you should be one living to Him. We have to live to Him because He is ours and we are His." (Witness Lee, Elder’s Training Book 8, Chapter 8. Living Stream Ministry).

In everything, seek the growth in life and in all things, grow up into the Head, which is Christ. The more consecrated we are, the more we will receive... It is never too late to start, and it is never too much to get up after we fail.” - Andrew Yu (April 2008)

The way we view ourselves dictates our actions and behavior. Therefore, we need an uplifted view, the divine view, to see that as working saints we should be the core of the church. If we realize this, we will take the lead to pick up the burdens of the church, and the whole church will benefit.

In the book of Numbers, God asked Moses to number His people according to their age. In particular, God charged a specific group of Levites “to do the work of service and the work of bearing burdens in the Tent of Meeting (4:47).” Although these age groups are Old Testament types and not to be applied literally in the New Testament, we can apply their spiritual principles to the church life today.

Being Vitalized for a Normal Christian Life and Service. Sometimes when we find ourselves drifting in our spiritual life, we may want to blame the current of the world. However, the real reason we drift is because there is no direction in our Christian life. Therefore, even a small current will eventually carry us away if we do not set proper goals.
In this episode, brother Andrew Yu challenges us to get the direction of our life under control by setting waypoints and having our companions check us. This practical fellowship can help us avoid the leaking and drifting away in our Christian life.
The accompanying reading material used in this meeting is Brother Watchman Nee’s message entitled “Leaking and Drifting” from The Collected Works of Watchman Nee, Volume 21.

Being Vitalized for a Normal Christian Life and Service. In Hebrews 2:1, the apostle Paul admonished the Hebrew believers to “give heed more abundantly to the things which have been heard lest perhaps we drift away.” The Greek word for drift conveys both the meaning to leak or slip away, as well as to drift away with the current and become lost.
In this second of three episodes taken from a fellowship in 2008, brother Andrew Yu leads the reading of Brother Watchman Nee’s message entitled “Leaking and Drifting” from The Collected Works of Watchman Nee, Volume 21. Watchman Nee is burdened that believers would not allow the things of Christ to leak away. This and the original audio recording can be accessed on our website here.
Being Vitalized for a Normal Christian Life and Service. In the Bible there are three kinds of living: the living that was in Egypt before salvation, the living in the wilderness after salvation, and the living in the good land as the goal of our salvation. In this first of three episodes taken from fellowship given by brother Andrew Yu in 2008, our brother was burdened that we, as the real Hebrews or river crossers, would not get stuck wandering in the wilderness but would enter into the good land, signifying a new kind of living, a vital living.

Until you pray, it’s not yours.” In this fellowship from 2008, brother Andrew Yu challenges us to all find a vital companion in the new year and get together with them weekly to pray. “If two or three see this revelation, touch the power of Christ's resurrection, and pray in one accord, they will shake the ends of the earth—Matt. 18:18-20; Acts 1:14; 4:23-33” (Crystallization-Study Outlines—Acts, Chapter 1, Section 1).
