Do you ever find yourself squinting at achievers in awe and disbelief wondering how they seem to get so much accomplished while you wallow in an endless sea of to-do’s hoping God will add just a few more hours at the end of your day. It can be difficult to juggle your responsibilities as a husband, father, brother, son, friend, coworker, entrepreneur...the list goes on and on, but your energy does not. Simplify your list. Join the movement and begin prioritizing what’s right for you not what’s left behind.

It’s been a minute—and we don’t take it lightly that you’re still here with us. Truly… thank you.

In this episode, we catch up a bit—talking about an upcoming business trip to Cancun (yes, maybe too much YouTube research), and a recent project in Columbus, Mississippi that turned into a story worth telling… just not today.

Because something else took center stage.

Recently, while sitting in an airport, I started noticing something I usually miss—the people. Not just faces, but stories. Emotions. Burdens.

The single mother managing three kids on her own.
The couple sitting in silence, worlds apart.
The man who just hung up the phone after hearing news no one wants to receive.

And it hit me… how often do we move through life completely consumed with ourselves, blind to what others are carrying?

In that moment, I felt led to do something simple—but powerful: pray. Not for me… but for them.

This episode is a challenge.
To slow down.
To see people again.
To step outside your comfort zone and consider the lives happening all around you.

Because everyone has something. And maybe—just maybe—we’re meant to care.

This week, we take a nostalgia-soaked detour back to the 80s — because nothing says “holiday spirit” like stumbling across a beloved childhood show suddenly streaming on Prime. One minute you’re scrolling, the next you’re eight years old again, wearing questionable fashion and eating cereal straight from the box.

Then we shift gears into Thanksgiving mode: the excitement, the chaos, and the age-old treasure hunt of locating the family’s fine china — you know, the plates that only come out once a year, wrapped tighter than a government secret and hidden somewhere between hope and hazard.

Expect surprises, mild frustration, and a few “why do we do this every year?” moments… all part of the charm of a holiday feast.

And finally, we land where every good Thanksgiving story should: gratitude. For the people around us, the stories behind us, and the grace that carries us forward — even when we burn the rolls.

Tune in, laugh a little, nod knowingly, and walk away with a heart a touch fuller (and maybe a craving for stuffing).

...A few of the issues I address in this episode -

  • The 80's, and a very special show
  • Sourcing the good china
  • The many frustrations and joy of hosting
  • A different kind of attitude

Some memories don’t fade—they just smell like bacon grease and sound like laughter from the next room.

There’s something about the sound of an iron skillet in the morning—the hiss of batter meeting bacon grease, the smell of hotcakes that could wake the whole house. Mom always said they had to be golden on the edges, not too thick, not too thin. Thanksgiving meant those hotcakes, the long drive to Grandma’s house, and the dining room table that somehow fit more people—and more stories—than it should’ve. And somewhere between second helpings and laughter, that one movie would come on. The same one we watched every year. It wasn’t the holidays until it did.

...A few of the issues I address in this episode -

  • Really good hotcakes recipe
  • The Iron Skillet
  • What Mom said about hotcakes
  • Thanksgiving traditions
  • Off to Grandma's house

In this heartwarming episode of Prioritize, I take a walk back through the early chapters of life — when the world was simpler, and the lessons came from family, not from headlines. From soccer fields and fishing trips with Grandpa to the unforgettable day I got my first Chinese throwing star (don’t worry, Mom survived), these stories remind us how deeply the roots of faith, family, and fatherhood run.

I share a few laughs, a few lessons, and some honest encouragement for every dad out there trying to do it right — not perfectly, but presently. Because being a father isn’t about having it all figured out; it’s about showing up, leading with love, and teaching your kids what really matters.

Pull up a chair, take a breath, and let’s talk about what it means to Prioritize.

In this episode, I discuss memoirs of a recent stay in a distant hotel and the many nuances between today’s stay, that of 2019 and before, and even a few family vacations as a kid and their unforgettable Overnighters in a so-called “hotel”.
The hotel experience has changed over the years. Back in the day the staff at a hotel provided us with VIP services - fresh linen, clean beds, taking out your trash - It made us feel important, valued, like an executive. I have had many bad experiences at different hotels, but we can't blame the staff entirely. Guests have changed along with the times and so has their lack of gratuity.

Thanks for listening! I'm glad you're here!

This is the last part of the podcast...broken into 4 different parts: Prioritizing the debt free journey.

On this live episode we take a guest from the audience along with some q's about debt -

This was recorded on a live platform called - Wisdom (it is a podcast platform) and was done so with a sub-par Microphone...kindly excuse the lack of quality sound. I am trying out different equipment for when I am on the road.

We walk directly into debt while deluding ourselves into thinking it's just this one credit card, it's just an emergency, it will just be this one time, and before we know it...we are in debt up to our eyeballs, scrambling for what little money we have in attempt to make ends meet. We have to much month left at the end of our money. This and the next few podcasts to follow are about sharing our debt free journey with you, how we did it, why we did it, and easy steps you can follow beginning today.

Thanks for listening! I'm glad you're here!

They're out there...and everyone has them. From certain movies we only watch this time of year, to cooking, to baking, and sight-seeing and more...Christmas traditions abound from generation to generation and are enjoyed by many the young, the old, and even the middle aged. In this episode I chat about a few of our favorites, how they came to be, and offer a suggestion or two as to how to make this upcoming season (or next Christmas) "one for the books".

As a young man you work hard, and perhaps you are blessed to find a wife, create some kids, and make a family. Being a Husband, Father, and provider can sometimes take a toll on anyone. Here's to you and hoping this puts a little fuel in your gas tank after a long day, or after a treacherous year. We've seen the pitfalls and the valleys and we know how to "DO" but quite often the "being" gets looked over, overshadowed by all the things we are told we need to "DO". Merry Christmas!

We had highs, and lows, and a lot of things in between. It was the celebration of our 25th Anniversary and we did so in Jamaica. We lived it up in paradise, but reality smacked us square in the face on the trip home. From arriving to the airport in Montego Bay, to timing, to Newark, NJ, and finally on to Detroit. Getting home proved far more difficult than it was supposed to be, and I discuss how it all went down and what I learned from it in this episode. After many long days at the office and long stretches of work with little to no vacation...can we go back to a simpler time? The Twilight Zone would have called it "A Stop at Willoughby" where a man can slow down and live his life fill measure, where kids walked around barefoot with a fishing' pole over their arm. Been "B.U.S.Y." lately? Too "busy" to take a break? Take a load off? I am guessing like myself and many others you probably are a high achieving list-crossing get-it-done type of beast, and sometimes, like EVERYONE...we should take a break - set down our To-Do lists and realize that if we don't get everything done...life seems to continue. Perhaps if we took a much-needed break, we could then finish our lists in fine style with fewer mistakes, and thus requiring less of our time and we could actually enjoy the day. In this episode I discuss a few key tips in setting go, and prioritizing rest along with the many physical health benefits, you will find some mental health benefits as well when you not just begin...but finish the week with some good self-health care.

Over the past year and a half, or so...or perhaps even more, it has become increasingly difficult to put the right things into perspective and, speaking for myself and many others whom testimonies I have heard first hand as they describe the problems in their life, which sometimes appear to be more of molehills than mountains...our focus could use a little more elevation - like for example - a September 12th type elevation when we assembled together as a nation with singular focus and many other insignificant problems seemed to fall by the wayside in light of an ever present enemy and we bonded together, our neighbors became friends, our differences were overshadowed by our concern for our fellow countrymen and I remember it felling like we were together in concert, in song, almost like a United States. That was many years ago and it is ever so evident that division has crept its way into the fabric of our society as we fall prey to or invent new ways to divide us as family, as neighbors, and as a country. May I offer some encouragement into a different direction?

Father's Day is right around the corner. A time reserved to recognize Dad for all the hard work and sacrifice he has done to protect his kingdom and provide for his family. Not everyone gets to be called "Dad" as that is a title reserved for those special men who step up to the plate investing into their children and loving their wife as Christ loved the church which shows a fantastic picture for their sons just how a man is to treat his bride.
Dads certainly aren't perfect, but we do what we can do, when we can do it. Here in this episode I share a few thoughts on Father's Day, serving my family, and what it means to be a Dad. I also share one of my favorite stories of our eldest growing up.

You guys got some graduates out there? Gotta pickup some grad cards and some cash from the ATM in celebration of a culmination of years of parenting and hard work. Parents, grandparents, extended family will be coming in from all over to help celebrate a very joyous occasion, that of your child crossing the stage and collecting a degree/diploma/MBA for which they have worked and strived so hardcore years on end. Today we discuss a few feelings about such things and an upcoming party for one of our own kids, our last in fact, is about to cross the stage and it's never an easy thing to hug your grad goodbye, but this was our youngest and last son, so perhaps a little more difficult.
We talk a little about the many things it took to get there, the expectations from Dad during the process, and what may come out of the whole thing. Join us in lamenting over the void, but cheering on our son in this episode.

Graduation season is upon us. This caused a time of pause and reflection for me as I looked back on several fond memories with just him and I as well as things we all did together as a family. Mother's Day is here, or nearly here...are you ready? Prepared? Got your things together? How do you celebrate Mom on her special day? (as if she only has one)
I have 2 special ladies in my life, firstly is my Wife, and then Mom. I discuss a few of the many qualities (probably too many to mention in one episode) concerning both ladies in my life.

That thing which we gentlemen look forward to and yet freak out, cringe, and break out into convulsions, panic attacks and a cold sweat at the thought of being rejected once we stick our necks out and "pop the question".
There seems to be a great deal of pressure surrounding the vary act of the proposal, where it takes place, at what time of the day, and how expensive was the rock? These are all items I discuss and to a greater benefit debunk in today's episode of Prioritize.

Have you ever heard of this word? Phrase? Zig Ziglar-ism? Life throws some pretty tough stuff our way on a daily basis..dare I say hourly basis, and sometimes I just feel like quitting. Quitting the job, the diet, the podcast, the vision, the debt-free journey, quitting trying to quit smoking, quitting this "thing" that we're trying to do because it gets really challenging. Ever feel like you just want to pack up your bags and call it a day? The goals you wrote down, committed to, told everyone about back in January? Still got 'em? What do you recall doing with your Dad when you were little? Little league? Basketball? Soccer? Throwing the frisbee in the backyard for an hour or so? I have some fond memories of time spent with my Dad when he closed down his work and purposefully spent time with me.
It's one thing for us to say we're gonna spend more time with our son, or take our daughter out for a date...it's a whole other thing for us to actually prioritize the action over the words and intentionally spend time with our family members. No one ever said it would be easy, but everyone says it is totally worth it.

Over time things in the bedroom and have a slight tendency to become mediocre...if not worse. Speaking to the gentlemen who have found their bride, and over time the intimacy has become...less than...in this episode I have some suggestions which have worked for me and several others, and I believe they would do wonders for you as well.

This is less about toys, lube, and technique and more about creating the atmosphere which many psychiatrists would explain through familiarity has become a place of contempt with clutter, work, TV, and more which does nothing except distract from each other...rather than add to the relationship. That is really the basis for this episode as I suggest a number of proven ideas which will up your intimacy game, flipping it on its head, and starting fresh.
