What would you tell your past self regarding being a friend. If you had the ability to go back in time and tell yourself anything regarding friendship what would you tell yourself? Would you tell yourself to be more patient, to be more present, to love more or even speak less? I'm sure we all would love to tell ourselves a lot of different things. In this episode we invite Brad Sundberg as a guest to share his thoughts on this hypothetical scenario.

In this weeks episode of Full Send Living Ethan & Nate discuss how generosity changes lives. Everyone should be more generous because everyone is rewarded when we care for other people. Generosity not only impacts the person being helped but it also greatly impacts the person being generous. Studies have shown that when people give to others they experience what is known as the "Giving High" which is when the brain experiences a rush of reward hormones (dopamine, serotonin and oxytocin) when someone blesses another person. Giving can not only change others lives. It can change your own!

Send it this week by finding someone in your life you can be generous with!

In this weeks episode Nate & Ethan discuss the topic: Is the gospel always appropriate. In today's comfortable western version of christianity culturally it has become more and more common for Christians to believe that the Gospel isn't appropriate in certain scenarios. We beg to differ!

C.S Lewis said "Jesus didn't come to make bad people good. He came to make dead people alive." When we think of the Gospel we believe that it is truly good news that is meant for any environment with any person no matter what is deemed "socially acceptable." We want our lives to speak of the man who found us dead and made us alive. That good news should follow us everywhere we go!

What is worship? How do we worship God?

By recalling what the Lord has delivered you from it reminds your heart what to be thankful for. Thankfulness and gratitude are things that live in the heart of every person who is a follower of Jesus because within their heart is a river of thankfulness flowing out to the Lord because of all the things He has delivered us from.

If you ever feel like your faith is weak, lifeless and mundane it probably correlates to your remembrance of how the Lord liberated you. The key to following the Lord is looking ahead to the Freedom that Jesus has provided us while also looking back at the cages that he set us free from. It's a great dance of thankfulness and remembering how far the Lord has brought us.

What has the Lord delivered you from? We would love to know! Message us on instagram! @ethanbricker

This week SEND IT by recalling what the Lord has delivered you from and choosing to not consume any media or substance that may take away your freedom.

In this weeks episode we had the honor of having Kim Wahl sit down with us and discuss the idea of "This is my Truth".

The idea that truth is relative is a very slippery slope that can cause dangerous belief systems and a life that is built on insecurities and lies that we have called truths. Relativity is selfish in nature because it demands the rest of the world to conform to what is the most comfortable and convenient "truth" to you. Truth is not something that conforms to our situation or our beliefs. It's quite the opposite actually. We are supposed to conform to Truth. When Truth (Jesus) arrives on the scene he actually reveals more truth to us. Truth is unshakeable because it wasn't made with human hands and wasn't formed through human thought. Truth doesn't recalculate as it is the most calculated thing in existence because it is defined by the person who brought about existence itself.

This week SEND IT by getting into the word of God and discover truth. Do whatever you need to do to keep Truth at the forefront of your mind.

Kim is the author of The Complaining Cure and the co-lead pastor of The River Church in Kimball Michigan. You can purchase Kim's book The Complaining Cure and subscribe to her newsletter and blog at OneStepCloser.life. You can also purchase The Complaining Cure on Amazon and Audible.

In this weeks episode Ethan Bricker & Nate Thompson talk about the importance of rest and how it is key to being present with the people you love. Do you ever go on a vacation and then return from your vacation and you feel like YOU STILL NEED A VACATION. Rest is illusive to us so often because we can't stop hustling or planning our next thing. When we truly find rest though, we are able to be fully present with the people we love. Rest is key to being present.

This week SEND IT by taking a day to fully rest. Put a pause on planning. Stop talking about the next thing on your to do list. Stop researching the next thing you need to work on AND REST. Don't let your goals own you. Enjoy your life and rest in your accomplishments long enough to recharge to take on the next one.

We've all met someone who had a great impact on our lives. Chances are the reason they had such a profound impact on our life is because they were present and accessible to us. Mr. Rogers for instance was a man that lived this out to its fullness. When Mr. Rogers was with people they felt fully heard, fully accepted and challenged to learn his art of slowing the world down just to be present. He knew how to be present and accessible to the people he loved.

Being present & accessible is SUPER difficult. We all struggle with this. It requires you to stop worrying or thinking about the future and slowing down to be in the moment. Which is really hard because many of us feel like we are accomplishing something by planning or thinking about what we will be doing 2 hours from now. It's important that if we want to make an impact on the people around us that we slow our internal world down to be in the moment with the people that want connection with us.

This week SEND IT by slowing down and being present and accessible with people who want to engage with you.

So many of us struggle to serve others if what we are doing doesn't directly benefit us. Too many times we catch ourselves serving in order to receive something back. How many times have you served and been searching for a good feeling? You know what feeling I'm talking about. It's the feeling you get when you watch the sunrise with someone close to you. It's that thing that happens in your chest when someone says "I love you.". It's that buzz in your head when a whole room of people applause for you. It's Dopamine.

Dopamine is a reward chemical that goes off in our brain when something good happens. It's there to reinforce the feeling of "This is good." or "This feels good.". So often we catch ourselves not wanting to serve others unless we have that hit of dopamine. It's so important that we are able to serve others without needing anything in return. Yes, even a little head buzz from your brain enjoying a compliment. It's not to say that any of that is bad! It's not. Encouragement is needed. Love is needed! Gifts are amazing to receive. But you have the ability to serve well without those things.

This week SEND IT by repositioning your yes and your heart to serve well!

You can either bring a good attitude to each and every day or you can bring a bummer attitude to every day and complain about things. This year be a solution maker. Bring your best! Bring something to the table!

This year SEND IT by bringing your best to the table in 2021!

In this Christmas special episode Nate and Ethan discuss the importance of knowing Jesus as who He WAS and also who He IS. In the book of Revelation, John saw his best friend Jesus in a new light that he had never seen  him as when Jesus was walking with the disciples on the earth. He saw Jesus as He truly WAS AND IS. He saw what Jesus looked like before He came to be the savior of humanity.

John inspires us not to become bored or familiar with who Jesus is. John knew there was more beyond the veil. This Christmas we encourage you to look deeper into your heart, into the word and into this life you have been given and seek the Jesus who is glorified and sitting at the right hand of the Father right now.

This Christmas SEND IT by seeing Jesus for ALL that he IS. Don't be afraid to ask God to speak to you!

In this episode Nate & Ethan discuss how not making a decision (commitment) is actually still making a decision (commitment).

Jesus said "Let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one." in Matthew 5:37. A common misconception is that if we don't commit to doing something we are in more control and of our time. We've all heard ourselves and our friends say, "I'll try to be there" for that party or "I'll try to get that done in time." or the overly common "I'll see if I have enough time.". Unfortunately when we say things like "I'll try." we are really saying "I don't want to say Yes and I also don't want to say No. This misconception is the lie that we are able to not make a decision; when in reality we are making a very powerful decision. The reality is that when we say 'No' to one thing we are actually saying 'Yes' to something else. However, many times we don't know what that other thing is or we haven't given a name to that other thing and so we make powerful decisions with little strategy or little conviction on how it will affect us.

This week SEND IT by being intentional of what decisions you are making. Either do it or don't do it. But know what you are saying yes to!

SUB SEND IT: Decide what you are doing and then KEEP THAT DECISION. Don't upgrade it or try to find a better decision. Stay committed to your commitments.

Whether you realize it or not every single day we have to manage the three Me's in our world.

Here are the three Me's:

  1. How you see yourself
  2. How others see you
  3. How God sees you

In other words every single day you are juggling the thoughts and opinions that come from you, others and God. In this episode, Nate Thompson & Ethan Bricker discuss how to manage all of those opinions and focus your attention on the opinion that matters most; God's opinion.

SEND IT this week by asking God what his opinion is of you!

Ever said, "I just love waking up to a hot fresh cup of feedback?" Yeah.... me neither.

This week Co-Hosts of Full Send Living, Ethan Bricker & Nate Thompson discuss the importance of receiving feedback even though it can be painful sometimes. Most people don't enjoy receiving feedback. We typically didn't grow up seeking it out and usually don't enjoy hearing someone's experience of being around us. We'd rather stick our head in the sand and just pretend everyone loves us and that everything we are doing is amazing!

However, feedback is one of the most valuable commodities that we can receive. It helps us see our blind spots.  It encourages the things we are doing well. It reveals the areas that we can improve on and gives us a road map of how to get improve. Feedback and teachability is one of the best things an individual can seek out in the people that are closest to them.

This week SEND IT by asking someone you love and trust for feedback. Ask them this question: "What is it like being on the other side of me?"

The 2020 pandemic has had so many of us out of our routine. We've been spending so much time at home and disengaged from what life used to look like that we barley remember what normal is anymore. In this weeks episode co-hosts Nate Thompson & Ethan Bricker talk about the importance of reengaging with life after the covid-vacation (not so much) that had us all wondering "what's going on?". It's so easy to just continue to stay in this disengaged day to day mindset because of all that has happened this year. It's easier to stay isolated away from what your heart is longing for. It's easier to not keep pursuing your dreams. But easy never got you anything worth while!

Times may be hard but we want to call you back into a reengagement with life and community! Don't just let 2020 beat you down! Choose today to take control of your attitude and the effort that you put in to 2020 so that you can walk out of this year as a victor and not a defeated disengaged person!

How do you send it today? Take control of your attitude and your effort and reengage with life!

Of course you have! In this weeks episode of Full Send Living, Ethan & Nate discuss the topic of a 30 second sound bite determining our views on topics. Our world is FULL of media that is designed to convince us to believe a specific belief system in little tiny bite size videos, photos and posts. These sound bites have created division, increased tension and most of all created ongoing debates that don't lead to changed people. Weight is an important thing when backpacking. Take it from Ethan, don't carry hot sauce on a hike. You don't need it. It's not worth the blisters and back pain after 20 miles of hiking. Lots of small items like hot sauce add up to a lot of poundage. Be like Nate. Don't research anything and just go with your gut. It'll work out better for you!

In this week's episode of Full Send Living Co-Hosts Ethan Bricker & Nate Thompson discuss the topic of starting strong and finishing strong. Ethan & Nate give some great practical guidance on how to set yourself up to succeed in the starting phase of your project and how to continue to have the motivation to finish whatever you have started with excellence!

In this weeks episode of Full Send Living Ethan & Nate discuss one of their favorite books "Absolute Surrender" by Andrew Murray. This book is a compilation of Andrew Murray's sermons from the late 1800s when Murray would travel and speak all across South Africa as a missionary. His message is moving and inspiring! He taught that in order to be a truly free and liberated Christian it required you to fully surrender to the work that Jesus Christ completed through Christ's death and resurrection. He believed in a full surrender to God body, soul and spirit.

How do you know when you are fully surrendered to God though? Listen to today's episode and find out!

Thanks for tuning in to Full Send Living. Don't forget to Subscribe while you're here!In this episode Nate & Ethan discuss the tension and difficulty of being fully present while fully isolated at home. We've all said "I wish I had more time to read." or "If I had more time I would practice my guitar more." But then we have the time and choose something else to do instead.

It's difficult in this season of isolation to choose to be present in life and make decisions that will continue to benefit our future. It's easier to just put on Netflix, open a pint of ice cream and binge until reality feels further away. If we spend these 1-2 months just trying to escape our current situation we will miss all of the time and moments that could benefit our future and the relationships that surround us right now.

Be PRESENT in your quarantine! Don't miss the opportunity that you have right now by looking in the past at what you don't have now. Look to your future and be present with those who will be in your future! It's easier said than done but if we all take a step towards being present it will be easier for us all.

How do we Send It this week? Don't be present in all the things that have been taken away from you. Be present with all the things that are in front of you!

Jesus says in Luke 6:46-49 "46 “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you? 47 Everyone who comes to me and hears my words and does them, I will show you what he is like:48 he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when a flood arose, the stream broke against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built.49 But the one who hears and does not do them is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. When the stream broke against it, immediately it fell, and the ruin of that house was great.”

What are you building in your life that isn't on God? When God arrives at your request and things start falling apart it is a revelation that you were building your life on something other than God. Jesus doesn't want your life to fall apart by any means! He just wants you to build your life on the most solid foundation ever! Him! He is good and gracious and wants you to be happy. However, he warns us that building our life on something other than Him is like building a sand castle and hoping it will stay together when a storm rolls in.

This week send it by inviting Jesus into EVERY part of your life. Not just church. Not just with some of your friends. Let Jesus into EVERY part of your life and build those parts of your life on Him! You won't regret it!

In this episode of Full Send Living Nate & Ethan discuss the growing fear and isolation that  Covid-19 is causing. Fear makes people do crazy things. It makes you choose worry over gratitude and it makes you choose toilet paper over food.

Fear presents 3 different problems.

  1. Time - How long will we be in this circumstance?
  2. Isolation - Am I completely alone in this?
  3. The Unknown - What else could happen that could make this worse?

If we fall into only focusing on our worries about time, isolation and the unknowns we lose sight of what we are already blessed with. Gratitude crushes fear. Gratitude puts things in perspective while Fear gives you tunnel vision. This week put things in perspective and count your blessings. Don't borrow worry from tomorrow! Choose to Gratitude today!
