Lex joins the show to tell us about his life in the world of track and field! He lost his vision at 8 years old and had a hard time coping with it from a young age. He was able to find mentors and others who believed in him and his capabilities to the point for bringing him around the country to compete while still in high school.

Jon joins me to talk about his rowing career and how this whole crazy thing got started! After walking on at the University of Pennsylvania, Jon was able to start training with elite athletes on the Schuylkill River. He missed out on the 1984 games by a slim margin but was able to make it there in 1988.
Jon retired from the sport, but got the itch again in the early 90s where he gave it one more shot to go to the games!

The lovely and wonderful Leslie Maxie joins me to talk about her Track and Field career! She started at the young age of 6 when her older cousins and siblings started and didn't stop until the Olympic games. She ran her first half marathon at 7, set her first World Record at 17, and made the Olympics at 21.

In our first episode of 2020 we are honored to have 4 time Olympian Kris Freeman on the show! Kris was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 19 and was told he would never make it to the Olympic Games. He sought out other opinions and was able to find a doctor willing to help him control his disease enough to make it to the games...4 times!
After Kris's retirement from the US Ski Team, he decided to try his luck in another endurance sport. Kris is now a professional triathlete running Full Ironman Triathlons.

The amazing Sage Donnelly joins the show to talk about her living her life out of a Canoe and a Kayak! Sage has been in in a kayak since was 2 years old and her resume reflects that. She is a multi-time national champion in Freestyle and has been competing internationally for a few years, and considering she is 19, it's been a big portion of her life.
Sage was also diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 3 and then celiacs and hypothyroidism later in her life. While she has been crushing it on the river she has had an extra obstacles that she has been able to overcome with ease!

Chris retired in 2012 from his sport, but he was able to find himself and understand what it takes to be a top level athlete. The amazing and wonderful Madisyn Cox joins the show to tell us about her life in swimming! Madisyn crushed it in college at UT-Austin swimming for the Longhorns where she won 12 Big 12 Championships. Madisyn went on to win multiple international medals including a Gold at the World Championships.
In 2018 Madisyn tested positive for a banned substance and was subsequently suspended from competition for 2 years. There was a long legal battle (which is currently still going) about how this substance got into her body. Many things were tested from contact solution to water but unfortunately nothing was found and Madisyn lost. After being suspended for 6 month, they finally found out where the banned substance came from and Madisyn was allowed to compete again.
Hearing Madisyn's experience is a great story in perseverance and continuing to fight.

Roald Bradstock, the Olympic Picasso, joins the show to tell us about his incredible career in sports and the arts. Roald was dealt a poor hand from the start needing to overcome multiple ailments as a child, but he grew passed them and to multiple Olympic Games.
He has represented Great Britain and the United States in his years but has not made the Games while training in the United States. He is shooting to be the oldest athlete ever to qualify for an Olympic Trials.
Roald has practiced the arts for his whole life and it was a dream of his to combine the two things he loves the most, which he now has the opportunity to do!

Our first Rock Climber ever joins the show! Kyra Condie joins us to tell us what it's like for her and the rock climbing community to know that it is an Olympic sport for at least the 2020 Games and potentially further!
Kyra talks about growing up and why she loves rock climbing so much. She also talks about how she got into the sport living in Minnesota with very little mountains to think of. Kyra describes the multiple disciplines of rock climbing, how the sport will look in the Olympics, and how her training has changed since she learned the Olympic format. The absolutely incredible Maddie Bowman joins the show to tell us about her dominance in the skiing world. Maddie won the first Gold Medal awarded in the inaugural event for Women's Halfpipe and has won the most Gold Medals in women's skiing at the X-Games.
Maddie tells us how she got so good, things she struggles with, and her favorite Medal she has won (of which there are many). She also tells us how she stays motivated with the constant expectation to win.

The fantastic Joanne Reid joins the show to tell us about her story and path to the games! Joanne comes from a family of Olympians so it was understandable that she had aspirations to go, even though it's in a different sport. Both her mother and uncle have won medals in Speed Skating, with her uncle winning 5 Gold Medals.

The amazing and talented Kaleigh Gilchrist joins the show to tell us about what it's like being a two sport athlete with Olympic aspirations in both! Kaleigh lets us know about her time on both teams, the understanding from each on how she'll be competing, and what she needs to do to be successful in both.
This is the first time Surfing with be in the Olympics so she's obviously interested in representing us in that, but understands it'll be difficult to do both.
She tells us about how she actually left USA Water Polo thinking she'd never play again, but the sport came calling so she had to prove herself again to the pool and her team.

The amazing Keturah Orji joins the show and lets us know what it's like being one of the best in the world at something! Keturah is a Triple Jump Champ and is even the American Record Holder at the event.

Monica Abbott joins the show to tell us all about her life from the Olympics in 2008 to getting back to the Games in 2020! As many people know, Softball was taken out of the Olympics after the 2008 Games but was recently instated into the 2020 Games!
Monica let's us in on her story, being a softball lifer, and being on the team both times making sure to grind through and coming out the other side! The 2008 Softball team lost in the Gold Medal Game to Japan and is now excited to come back and try again.

Kevin Bickner joins the show to talk about the ski jumping life and how much time he spends overseas. Ski jumping is a very popular sport in Europe, so he spends the seasons there so he can train and make money! Kevin almost randomly found ski jumping and then went on to become the American Record Holder for longest jump. A very incredible turn of events!

Darian Stevens joins the show to tell us about her story and path she took to go to the 2018 Olympic Games.
She has lived an incredible life, one which I would not be capable of living, and has taken the most out of it. She missed the 2014 games at a young age by a single spot but was fortunate enough to make it the next time around. Of course in between was a well worked 4 year period.
