While she was working at both companies, she saw the academic struggles of working class families that were disproportionately people of color. She believed that their little allotment of hours was not enough for them. Furthermore, she believed that the children in these families tended to have unknown learning disabilities and were almost illiterate and undereducated. Gabrielle reached a point when she realized that these families deserved more than that. A light bulb went off in her head - "I’ll start my own company!" Gabrielle’s experiences at these companies provided her with the insight she needed to excel at and enjoy tutoring, while inspiring other tutors to do the same. Dr Fenwa Milhouse is a fellowship-trained, board certified urologist. Originally born in Nigeria, her family immigrated to the US when she was a young child. She grew up in Texas and ended up at the University of Texas at Houston for medical school. After hearing a lecture about urology given by an African American woman urologist, she found her calling. She trained at the University of Chicago for urology residency. Thereafter, she completed her fellowship in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery.
She is a wife and mother of 3. She is passionate about introducing the public to the world of urology, mentoring underrepresented minorities, and diversity and inclusivity in the workplace.

Michael Tonge is a Brooklyn Native, and the son of two creatives. He is born and raised in the city that never sleeps so naturally, hustle, creativity, and intuition are a part of his DNA.
As an avid “people-watcher” since childhood, it makes sense that he studied Sociology while at Bucknell University). It was there, on campus that he began his marketing career, + launched The Culture LP. Since then he has worked in a diverse set of roles at the likes of J.P. Morgan, Giant Spoon, and the Dentsu Aegis Network before taking a role as Senior Marketing Manager at the Brooklyn Museum.
Currently, Michael serves as a partner at Launch Angle, and is the co-founder of the Culture LP. When he isn't solving complex problems for brands, organizations, and creatives, you can generally find him wherever there is the trifecta of dope music, people, and food.

We're continuing our IDEAS convo with a bonus episode with Molecular Biologist Cagney Coomer founder of NERD SQUAD a local non profit sharing STEM education with young school aged black girls in the community.
Cagney Coomer is a Lexington, Kentucky native. She received an Associates' degree in biotechnology from BCTC and a BS degree in biology and chemistry from Virginia State University. Ms. Coomer is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the department of biology at UK. In the pursuit of her science degrees, Ms. Coomer has noticed a serious lack of representation and inclusion in the STEM fields. She used this as an inspiration to start a non-profit organization called NERD SQUAD Inc. NERD SQUAD empowers girls of color by exposing them to STEM careers and mentors. High and middle school-aged girls design, develop and facilitate STEM-based activities in the community based on the careers and fields they are exposed to. Ms. Coomer has developed a number of STEM-based student and community programs, some of which have been adopted by elementary schools in the area.

If you're a Kentuckian and into comics, Justin Stewart is an MVP in the comic industry. As a creative and comic artist he's founder of Six Bomb Boards that host live public art events throughout Kentucky. Justin is the not only the Art Director for the Lexington Comic and Toy Convention but has done work for Marvel and Image. His latest published work includes art in the latest Netflix Stranger Things fan art book available Oct. 15.

Her goal is to make work that is well-crafted and aesthetically pleasing, but also deeply thoughtful and socially conscious. She is passionate about connecting art with community development and using creativity to build bridges and explore deeper questions.
