Dr. Scott and Michael talk all about what the concepts of PRI are. The Postural Restoration Institute or PRI, as they refer to it as, is this institute in thought process about how breathing affects our body's balance of position, and how these affect our anatomy, our neurology, our physiology. They discuss why our bodies aren't really built symmetrically and how this can affect us as as humans that need to do movement to survive. They go into some of these common asymmetrical patterns due to our breathing patterns, and how these can change us from just surviving and getting by, to becoming a thriving athlete. In this episode Dr. Brett Scott sits down with Ted Bezemer, PT. Ted invented the Axio training tool, which if you have ever had shoulder pain or still dealing with a nagging shoulder injury, the Axio trainer is something you should definitely look into getting! It's a very simple and effective tool for rehabbing virtually any type of shoulder injury and getting you back into training.
Ted is a physical therapist that's been doing PT for 27 years. He's a sports clinical specialist and he's been a strength coach for nearly 30 years. He is also a orthopedic clinical specialist sports specialist, PI certified and has a Certified Strength and Conditioning speciality certification. Some of you might be familiar with body blades, and a lot of banded exercises and stability work; the Axio is something that kind of puts all of that in one where we can start in a fairly simple level of achievement and then improve as we go on and make those exercises harder and harder.
During this episode, Ted explains how one could use it for a lot of lower body and core exercises and training as well. In this episode Dr. Brett Scott sits down with Dr. Sarah Vose, PT, DPT . They talk all about trauma and how it affects your body movement, lifestyle and wellness. Dr. Vose is considered a physical therapist, but also a trauma informed practitioner and has a very unique practice. Â People have many unresolved issues that they can't get to the root cause of after going through scans or even blood work.Â
Dr. Vose takes a very different and more holistic approach in her practice to try to get down to the root of one's ailments. Â She does things like visceral manipulation, which is looking at how the organs function to it, how they play into your systemic health, maybe systemic swelling, inflammation, and so forth. Â She also does cranial sacral therapy, which is something of a unique practice within the physical therapy fields, as well as Somatic Emotional Release Therapy and neural system manipulation.Â
Dr. Vose also works with and sees a lot of patients with food sensitivities, leaky gut,  autoimmune disorders, concussions. She has also written a book titled Meathead, Unraveling the Athletic Brain, she might also be heading into outer space and as a candidate for a mission to Mars as an astronaut with NASA.

In this episode we have Strength and Conditioning Coach, Nick Barker with us discussing Strength Training Post ACL Injury.Â
After an ACL tear, people go to PT and at about 80% recovery they get let go and they are on their own to get back to training. Nick and Brett talked about gradually increasing activity levels and getting someone back to doing what they love post ACL tear. They discussed what training should look like, what people are missing in their training, things we typically see as Physical Therapists and strength coaches, and what you should be looking for & focused on once you're about 9 months out from an ACL tear.
We know the stats on ACL tears aren't great, one in four typically end up re-tearing them. So there is a major piece missing in the whole rehab to performance spectrum of getting these ACL tears better! This episode is for people who have a torn ACL or have torn it in the past, and coaches and trainers who help their clients post ACL recovery and rehab.Â
