Teachers are leaving the field. Why? Let’s explore the decline of teachers while also exploring the decay of public education.
Who are the people that we listen to that inspire us or guide us into greatness? What is it about them that causes us to lend our time and attention listening to what they have to say? In the world of Public Education, we find that those who inspire or guide us are rather difficult to find. Why is that? What do these presenters lack that they leave the appetite of the established teacher still longing? This is part 2 of the topic of PD (professional development). This podcast primarily focuses on Restorative Practices in the classroom. My commentary goes beyond the PD session that I experienced on this topic, but I also visit a website that goes into more detail on the subject.
What is your plan to develop professionally? Whether you work for someone else or own your own business, this is a question worth pondering. For teachers, we kind of find ourselves at a fork in the road. We have the mandatory trainings, known in the education world as "Professional Development", and we have to constantly compare that training to the real world situations that we find in our daily grind. If it doesn't apply, or make good sense, we have to go a different route. This podcast will explore the idea that "PD", can sometimes be a tool for professional development, or it can be that which leads us into professional destruction.
Where do the rules and practices, that teachers have to follow, come from? This podcast will confront some of the hurdles that stand in the way of a teacher leading his or her students to excellence, as those that produce and enforce the mandates govern at a safe distance, and don't have to wade through the excrement that they send down the hill. This podcast will be specific to academic mandates, as well as some that qualify for both, academic and behavioral.

What is the role of the teacher in the public school system? Why is it that there seems to be so little of trust in how the teachers manage the students' journey to excellence, in the realm of academics and even behavior? Have the teachers earned this badge of non-credibility? What would teachers' autonomy over their classrooms look like in public schools? This is the second session of 2. Lets explore this together in this podcast.

Lets explore this together in this podcast.
How are public schools being run? Who makes the decisions that affect you, your school, your student, your classroom, etc....? What should our public school systems look like? Finally, did you know that the use of some simple Geometry can help you identify your, unique, philosophy of education? Let's answer these questions in this podcast.
Teachers are leaving the field. Many are broken. Many are asleep. Some are waking up. The time has come to identify that which has taken an honorable profession, and turned it into a vocational ghost town. Join me as I discuss these topics. This particular podcast will set the stage for future podcasts that will seek to go deeper into the decay of our education system.
