Beta Version 1.1 - October 14, 2008
Starting with the Beta 1.1 release of the CCC, I will report all bug fixes by error number. Each bug fix will correspond to a system assigned error number. With the linking of the system generated error numbers and the bug fix tracking, you will be able to determine whether your error has been resolved using the software release notes.

Version Beta 1.0 - Released October 13, 2008
Over the weekend, I released the first beta version of Community Center for Churches. There are lots of updates and changes in this release.

[Improvement] Directory Module: Added two new directory reporting options: Skills & Talents and Willing to Serve. These new reports are located within the Directory Module under ‘Reports’.

[Bug Fix] Connect Module: When adding a visitor card to CCC, you now have an option to add a card to an existing profile. Individuals can be added through the Finances and Directory modules, so a visitor may already be in your profile directory at the time of their visitor card. In the Connect module, you can search before you add and can now add a visitor card to any individual found in the profile directory.
[Improvement Connect Module: Added a checkbox to allow you to determine whether a welcome email is sent to a new guest at the time of card assignment. Previously, an email was automatically sent with no ability to opt out of sending an email.
[Improvement] Connect Module: Added the ability to remove a Connect Team assignment from a visitor card. Visitor cards entered into CCC can be assigned to member of your Connect Team (team of individuals to help welcome visitors and guests to your church), using this new feature, you can remove any assignments made and reassign the card if needed.
[Bug Fix] Connect Module: You can now view cards by individual assignment. To view all assignments, click Assigned Card within the Connect module. You can see assigned card within the Search Results template, after performing a search within the Connect module.
[Improvement] Connect Module: Added the following actions to the Search Results template: Report Results, Generate Letter.
[Improvement] Connect Module: Added the ability to generate an individual letter for a visitor, if the database reports that the letter has already been sent, the template gives you a button to generate a copy of the letter. This letter uses the text from the Welcome Letter template to generate the letter.
[Improvement] Connect Module: Added the ability to generate an individual e-mail for a visitor, if the database reports that the e-mail has already been sent, the template gives you a button to generate a copy of the e-mail. This e-mail uses text from the Welcome E-mail template to generate the e-mail.
[Improvement] Connect Module: Removed Generate Letters and Generate Emails from Connect module navigation, replaced them with Manage Cards.
[Improvement] Connect Module: Added a template to view a summarized visitor card.
[Improvement] Database Improvement: Improved the ability to track whether a letter or an email has been sent to a visitor. This improvement was made to the database in addition to the base code. These modifications will help track and report actions taken during the welcome process and will attempt to reduce duplicate welcome actions/step during the welcome process.
[Improvement] Database Improvement: Added a data field to track an individual’s Occupation. Will make future modifications to the Directory module to allow you to add, edit, and view this data.

[Imrovement] Directory Module: Added a template to allow the changing of a logged in user's password. This template is available within the Directory Module and has the name 'Change password'. A user requesting a password change must know the current password.

Tuesday evening at 11pm local time, all production servers went online. I completed the data import of the remaining churches and updated the base code for all production servers.
Now that all production servers are online, I will shift my development focus to continuing to stabilize the base code and make general improvements. Community Center for Churches (CCC) allows you to keep track of your church membership and visitors, manage your resources and calendar, track attendance and giving, and report on the information.
Hey All,
Thanks again for partnering with me to launch Community Center for Churches. I've been working on the software almost everyday... last week was a bit challenging as I was leading a group of students attending Summer of Service.
I wanted to give you all a quick update on my status with the Community Center for Churches software and the delays getting it deployed for your church. It was my hope to have it launched by June 1 but after deploying it for the Ann Arbor Vineyard and discovering over several errors (some major, most minor), I decided to delay deployment until I could work out those errors. While I know that you are open to using software that is still being developed, I didn't want to deploy your site with these errors and create frustration before you could realize the benefit of using the software.
As we have been testing the software with the Ann Arbor Vineyard we have discovered and removed several bugs that showed up when we migrated the software from my testing server to the production server.
In addition to the errors, migrating your data proved a bit more challenging that I originally estimated. I've started the data migration for Vineyard Ann Arbor, Vineyard North, and Vineyard Kalamazoo and will finish that migration hopefully by week's end. You will receive an email notification when the migration is complete.
While the code base for your site is online and has been for a couple weeks, I haven't finished the migration of your data. I will update you on the migration schedule and will send your login credentials as soon as I can.
