By the year 2025, 75% of our workforce will be millennials. The millennials outnumber even the baby boomers. They are also different than the boomers. As an employer or business owner, you need to understand the differences. The culture that worked in the past may not be the best fit for the new and upcoming workforce.
Today, I’m talking about the changes employers may need to make. Right or wrong, they will need to be aware of what their employees want and create a culture that encourages loyalty and participation. They will need to create an environment where employees feel ownership and have opportunities to give input. They need to feel they are making a contribution and understand the bigger picture.
“If you create an opportunity for the millennials to be successful, your company will be successful .” – Sharon Lechter

When you’re just launching a new startup company, one of the first things many entrepreneurs begin to think about is how to find funding from investors and financial partners. But, the problem of getting a “yes” from investors often arises due to a few key components that entrepreneurs have mistakenly overlooked.
My guest today is Lauren Flanagan, Founder and Managing Director of Belle Capital USA. She is also the CEO of a strategic advisory firm called SCIO Corp, a company that helps early stage companies prepare to scale, raise capital, and achieve successful exits. I’ve known Lauren for a little over a year and she is filled with knowledge, insight, and understanding of the complexities within the investing industry, as well as the challenges that many startup businesses and entrepreneurs face when searching for outside funding to take their business to the next level.
Lauren joins me on the show today to share her knowledge and insight about some of the key components you should consider before presenting your business or product idea to potential investors, why not all businesses need outside funding, and why building a competent team around your idea is a critical part of showing investors the value of your proposition.
“It’s important that you do as much diligence on your partners as they are going to do on you.” – Lauren Flanagan

When was the last time you allowed yourself to be creative? To use the power of your imagination and let your mind explore what could be possible in our world? How does creativity, imagination, and curiosity play a role in the development, growth, and success of our businesses?
In this week’s episode, I’m talking about curiosity, creativity, and imagination, as well as something that we’ve all experienced at one point in our lives: conformity, comfort, complacency, crisis, and chaos. These are all very different things, and yet they are all connected. As business owners, it can be easy to become complacent in our businesses; to become comfortable or used to doing things a certain way. But, once you’ve become complacent, how do you get back on the saddle of imagination and creativity and why is it important to your overall success?
“Let’s just shed that cape of conformity; that cape of complacency, and replace it with a cape of your super power.”

It’s never been easier to publish a book than it is today. In the past, the primary way to get published was to find and pitch your book idea to a publishing house or start your own publishing company. Although publishing houses are still a viable option to get your book published today, the internet has made it incredibly easy to get published without the need of a major publisher assisting you.
In this week’s episode, I’m going to share a few of the many ways you can publish your book idea, the pros and cons of each, and share why it’s important for you to figure out your marketing strategy to sell your book regardless of which publishing option you choose.

Being a good storyteller can significantly impact your business. Whether you are sharing how your business got started or explaining how something works, you often express your thoughts and ideas through telling your story. When it comes to telling your story, it’s important to keep in mind the medium you are using. Whether it’s writing a book, blog post, or article, or sharing your story with an audience through speaking engagements, presentations, or podcasts, knowing how to connect and inspire your audience is critical to telling a good story.
On today’s episode, I’m discussing the differences between sharing your story through writing verses speaking and how to paint a picture for your readers through the words you choose when writing your book, article, or blog post.
The better storyteller you can become, the more effective you are going to be.

Whether you’re selling a book, a product, or a service, the three-legged stool analogy applies. In a business sense, this means that one leg is the product or service you are selling; the second leg is your platform, and the third leg is you.
On today’s episode, I want to share with you some of the top reasons why you should write a book and how the three-legged stool analogy applies to writing, publishing, and selling your book. I also want to explain how becoming an author can help you establish yourself as an authority and expert in your industry, the benefits of co-authorship, and the techniques you can use to get your book written and published.
It’s never been easier, or more important, to write a book.

Statistics show that 8 out of every 10 new businesses fail within the first 18 months, but no one ever talks about why so many new businesses fail so soon after they launch. To have a successful, thriving, sustainable business, you need more than just passion and talent. I’ve talked a lot about the power of association – the power of your network. What many new business owners do not realize is that as your business grows and evolves, so should your network and those you associate with.
Beyond your passion, talent, and network, though, your personal plan for your business can often be the determining factor of whether your company grows successfully – or becomes another statistic. On this week’s episode of the Your Money, Your Business, Your Life podcast, I want to share with you some of the critical components that you should be considering when planning your business for success.

Have you ever looked at your career and thought to yourself: “This is not where I want to be; I have a greater purpose in life.” Many professional women come to a crossroad in their career where they feel trapped in their job, wanting to escape, and find their true purpose in life. My guest today is Ali Brown, dubbed the entrepreneurial guru for women by Business News Daily. Like many aspiring entrepreneurs, her story started in the business world – working for various companies but simply feeling miserable.
Today, Ali joins me on the show to share her story, why she decided to leave her regular 9-to-5 job to become a freelance copywriter. She shares how she built up the credibility to become a nationally known public speaker, and why she is so passionate about empowering other women to find the success and freedom they deserve.

Have you ever had to make an important decision so you sit down with your pen and paper and write a list of pros and cons? When you’re making that list, you’re likely asking yourself dozens, if not hundreds, of questions – but are you asking yourself the right question?
Creating a pros and cons list can sometimes be helpful, but what if your list of pros is just as long as your list of cons? What do you do, then?
Fear is often the factor that stops potentially great entrepreneurs in their tracks even before they’ve taken that first courageous step into entrepreneurism.
On today’s episode, I’m talking about one very important question you should be asking yourself if your trying to decide to start a business and become a successful entrepreneur – the question of “Why not?” What is stopping you from living the dream life you want for yourself and your family? Why are you letting it prevent you from reaching your true potential? And how can you turn those fears into the courage you need to find the associations and create opportunities for success?
“There are no failures. There are only learning opportunities.”

Today with high interest rates and reduced credit limits, monitoring your credit score is vitally important. Your credit score fluctuates frequently. With every major purchase you make, every line of credit you apply for, it impacts your overall score.
Anyone who has heard me speak at various events and conferences likely already know my story – how my passion and motivation to educate others about managing their finances really started and ignited after my son, Philip, went to Arizona State University and found himself in debt with credit card companies.
Today, Philip joins me on the show to share how he improved his credit score and what he did that may help you benefit and learn from his experiences. He shares his insight and tips on the five key areas that impact your credit score and explains the difference between “Good Credit,” “Okay Credit,” and “Bad Credit,” and what you can do to start improving your credit score.
“Having different types of credit is actually beneficial to your credit score.” – Phillip Lechter

Over the last several years, fear has largely dictated the economy instead of fundamentals. The uncertainty of where the market is heading has made it a scary time for many families and investors. Many people who thought they were on the right path to retirement have come to realize that, instead of retiring at 65 – they will need to work until they are 70 or older to achieve the goals they set.

Mixing family issues with money issues and making it all flow smoothly isn’t always easy. The emotional aspects of each often co-mingle and blend, but having the ability to celebrate each win together – as a family – is an incredible feeling.

YMBL055 One Big Life!
One of the biggest challenges women entrepreneurs face as they build their businesses and strive to creating the “one big life” they deserve is battling the emotions of fear, self-doubt, and self-worth. Women often believe they are unworthy or incapable of achieving their dreams or strive for achieving a work-life balance they can be proud of.
On today’s episode, I’m discussing the importance of creating an environment of positivity, confidence, and support to achieve your dreams. I’ll explain how to use your “big life” goal as a road map to accomplish the success you deserve and the importance of surrounding yourself with supportive people to help you through the negative moments in your life. I’ll also explain the importance of building your self-confidence, self-esteem, and sense of self-worth to overcome your fears and achieve success.
You have the opportunity to fulfil every aspect of your life.” - Sharon Lechter

YMBL054 Principles of Success - Outwitting the Six Ghosts of Fear
Entrepreneurs are faced with a wide variety of challenges and obstacles. Sometimes, we allow ourselves to become overwhelmed in the emotional state that these obstacles create. One of the primary reasons why entrepreneurs stall when it comes to facing these obstacles and achieving success is fear. Fear can be a powerful motivator, stopping us in our tracks from achieving our goals or taking action toward our next level of success.
On today’s episode, I’m discussing Napoleon Hill’s theory of the six ghosts of fear. I’ll share the six most common fears people face and explain how the fear of poverty and criticism can hold us back from achieving success. I’ll also explain how succumbing to “analysis paralysis” and being indecisive are based on fears as well as how to overcome them.
“You give up your power when you let fear take over.” - Sharon Lechter

YMBL053 Principles of Success - The Sixth Sense
As an entrepreneur, you’ve likely been told to follow your gut, your instincts, your hunches, or your intuition. To use your intuition to guide you to achieving your goals and success. Your “sixth sense” - those gut feelings you have in certain situations or around certain people - is often referred to as “The Temple of Wisdom.” According to Napoleon Hill, your sixth sense is a combination of the mental and spiritual realms.
On today’s episode, I’m discussing Napoleon Hill’s theory of the sixth sense and explaining why he believes it’s important to master the first 12 principles of success in order to fully engage your intuition. I’ll explain how your sixth sense can act as your guardian angel by helping you identify things you should be doing - and not doing - to achieve your goals and the impact of ignoring your intuition can have on your ability to achieve success. I’ll also explain how to engage and develop your sixth sense and why entrepreneurs often struggle to tune-in to their intuition and allow it to guide them to achieving their goals.
“Looking for guidance from your sixth sense is an intrical part of success.” - Sharon Lechter

YMBL052 Principles of Success - The Brain
Have you ever wondered about the connection between our physical being and our cognitive thought process? As a functional organ, our brain is responsible for a variety of bodily functions and activities working correctly - including our emotional state and thought processes. Our experiences and the things we allow into our conscious and subconscious mind plays a significant role in how our brain interprets the world around us, helping us make decisions in various situations and circumstances as well as impacting our ability to create success.
On today’s episode, I’m discussing the connection between our brain and our thoughts and emotions. I’ll explain what the reptilian brain is, it’s responsibilities, and how it affects our emotional and cognitive thoughts and decisions. I’ll also explain why being intentional in what we feed our brain is critical to creating success, how what we feed our brain impacts our emotions, thoughts and decisions, and why it’s important to surround ourselves with positive people and celebrate achievements to generate positive results and successful outcomes.
The brain is a functioning organ that really coordinates everything about our thought process.” - Sharon Lechter

Your subconscious mind plays an important role in the way you react and respond to the challenges, obstacles, and events around you. To be a successful entrepreneur, it’s important to be in the right mindset so you can accomplish your goals, grow your business, and create the life you desire.
On today’s episode, I’m discussing how your subconscious mind impacts your thought process and the way you react to challenges and events that occur in your life. I’ll also share strategies you can use to help you retrain your subconscious mind, allowing you to create a positive mindset so you can achieve the success you deserve.

YMBL050 Principles of Success - The Mystery of Sex Transmutation
Developing effective communication skills is critical to achieving your goals, advancing your career, and building a successful business. It plays a significant role in how we negotiate for the things we want and how others perceive us. Everyone has a feminine and masculine perspective of our personalities - and the way we use these perspectives in our lives, businesses, and careers impacts the way we communicate with others.
On today’s episode, I’m discussing the mystery of sex transmutation. I’ll explain Napoleon Hill’s theory of how a personal magnetism personality is an expression of sexual energy and how nonverbal communication skills and the tone of your voice impacts the way people interpret your messages. I’ll also explain how your posture impacts the way you present your message and the importance of being tactful, enthusiastic, and approachable when communicating with others.
“In communication, sexual energy is so impactful - even more impactful, at times, than what you say.” - Sharon Lechter

YMBL049 Principles of Success - Power of the Mastermind
Being an entrepreneurs can be lonely and trying to run your business on your own can be a shaky path to walk. To achieve success in your business or organization, collaboration and teamwork are crucial. One thing that is equally important, however, is finding a community of purpose-driven individuals you can connect with, gain inspiration and insight, ask questions, and seek support from during challenging or difficult situations. This is why it is critical for business owners and entrepreneurs to seek the help of mastermind groups.
On today’s episode, I’m discussing what a mastermind is and the value of becoming a member. I’ll explain the spiritual element behind an effective mastermind group, the importance of committing to participating and listening to others within your group, and the difference between a formal and informal mastermind. I’ll also explain how Napoleon Hill describes a mastermind group and why he believed it is the key to creating success as an entrepreneur.
“Masterminds are really a tool to bring together like-purposed people to achieve a common goal.” - Sharon Lechter

YMBL047 Principles of Success - Decision
As entrepreneurs, we know that procrastination often inhibits our ability to achieve success. Sometimes, procrastination is appropriate - especially when you haven’t done your research or due diligence on an idea. But, lingering too long, overanalyzing, and refusing to make a decision or take action on an idea can often lead to missed opportunities.
On today’s episode, I’m discussing the importance of being decisive and taking action to achieve your goals. I’ll explain why some of the most successful entrepreneurs and business leaders make it a habit to reach a prompt decision, how your passion can help you make decisions quicker, and the effects of the “shiny object syndrome.” I’ll also discuss the difference between seeking someone’s opinion versus seeking counsel from mentors and how second-guessing your decisions can impact your success.
“Decision is the mastery of procrastination.”

YMBL046 Principles of Success - Organized Planning
If you want to create success in your business, you need to have a plan, work the plan, be able to revise the plan, then work the plan again. Part of working the plan, though, is having everyone on your team working in the same direction. This is where being organized in your planning process becomes critical.
On today’s episode, I’m discussing the importance of creating an organized plan for your business. I’ll explain what an organized plan is and how it can help you and your team achieve your goals and scale your business quickly and more effectively. I’ll also share why cultivating an environment based on cooperation is critical to be an effective leader, the attributes most great leaders possess, as well as leadership traits that can hinder your company’s growth and ability to achieve its goals.

YMBL044 Principles of Success - Specialized Knowledge
When it comes to building trust and authority in your field, specialized knowledge gives you the opportunity to become an industry expert. According to Napoleon Hill, “knowledge has no value except that which can be gained from its application toward some worthy end.” As we age, things change and the things we thought we knew before often change with time as well.
On today’s episode, I’m discussing the fourth chapter of the book Think and Grow Rich, and why specialized knowledge is critical to your business’s success. I’ll also explain how having specialized knowledge can lead to becoming known as an authority figure and expert in your industry as well as the importance of continuing to learn new skills and apply your knowledge to achieve your business goals.
“Specialized knowledge is the pathway to success.”

When you think of auto-suggestion, many people associate the term to hypnosis. However, auto-suggestion is a mechanism of how your brain deals with external factors that influence your subconscious. Continuing the theme from Napoleon Hill, auto-suggestion is the “voluntary feed on creative or destructive nature and ability to change our circumstances.” How often do we use negative thoughts and comments to create a whirlwind of self-doubt and lack of self-confidence?
Today, I’m discussing the impact of auto-suggestion to change your mindset and how it directly influences our level of success. I also explain how we often allow positive and negative thoughts into our lives either consciously or subconsciously, steps we can take to actively change our mindset to ensure our success, and the importance and impact that positive self-talk can have on your life and business.
“Each of us takes responsibility for own thoughts, actions, and what we allow into our spaces.”

YMBL042 Principles of Success - Faith
As a business owner, having faith is critically important to your overall success. In fact, it’s one of the Principles of Success in my book, Three Feet from Gold, as part of the success formula, but many people don’t realize why having faith is so important to your ability to succeed in business. Having faith in something means having a strong belief in something - including yourself.
On today’s episode, I’m going to share why having faith in yourself is critical to your success and how to use it as a motivator to help you take action and achieve your goals. I’ll explain how faith - or the lack thereof - truly defines your destiny, how it creates a roadmap for your subconscious to follow, and how positive thoughts can create the foundation for you to build success in your life, business, or career. I’ll also share Napoleon Hill’s self-confidence formula that can help you create the mindset to build faith in yourself and create success in your career.
“Building faith in yourself sometimes means pushing past your discomfort - putting yourself out there and being okay with not knowing if other people will accept what you’re doing.” - Sharon Lechter

YMBL041 Principles of Success - Burning Desire
The book Think and Grow Rich was originally published in 1937 by Napoleon Hill. Since then, it has sold millions of copies and has been recognized as a Top 10 Bestseller for entrepreneurs and business professionals. The book outlines and explains the 13 critical steps we need to take to achieve the success we desire in our personal and professional lives. It also dives deep into why overcoming fear is critical to achieving your goals and fulfilling your dreams.
On today’s episode, I’m discussing the first principle of success - finding a burning desire. I’ll share my perception of the concept of finding your burning desire - what makes you jump out of bed each morning - and how you can apply it to other areas of your life. I’ll explain how the path to finding your burning desire can manifest from more than just your passion or love of something and how to use that desire to fuel the success in your life and business.
“It starts with an idea, a realization, and grows to become a driving force behind every day action.” - Sharon Lechter

Kids learn about money at a young age. What are some useful strategies to teach the children in your life about the relevance of earning wages and savings? Today, I’m talking with Angela Totman about the importance of making money and providing that message to your kids.
Angela explains the importance of starting with small allowance jobs, depending on the age, such as cleaning the pool, the yard, or babysitting. The crucial aspect of earning an allowance is teaching children to create opportunities to make their own money and problem solve. Besides teaching them to save money, children also learn a sense of accomplishment and self-confidence.
“Teach kids to have accomplishments and achievements that they can own and look back.” -

YMBL039 Global Demographics
Many businesses and large organizations become frustrated with the millennials working within their company. Much of this frustration is often due to the fact that millennials tend to think differently than the older generations. According to a recent study, millennials will make up approximately 75% of the global workforce by 2025. So, in order for businesses and organizations to continue to grow and thrive in the ever-changing global demographics, they need to learn how to cope, communicate, and work with these younger generations.
On today’s episode, I’m discussing the future of retirement, social security benefits, and global workforce. I’ll explain the importance of learning how to communicate and work with millennials within your organization and why you should consider expanding your business to a global scale. I’ll also explain why business owners should consider providing tools, resources, and education to the growing workforces within India and Africa and how it can impact your company’s growth and longevity.
“Think about what you’re doing today and how you can take it to a global scale.” - Sharon Lechter

YMBL035 Are You a Henry?
In 2003, Fortune Magazine coined the phrase, H.E.N.R.Y, a term that stands for High Earner, Not Rich Yet. H.E.N.R.Y’s are often referred to people who earn a substantial amount of money, but are not investing in their self-worth through assets. According to statistics, about 23-million Americans are earning between $100,000 and $250,000, but - despite their high income cashflow - they are not considered ‘rich’ yet.
On today’s episode, I’m discussing the traits often found in H.E.N.R.Y’s. I’ll explain what a H.E.N.R.Y. is and how it is different than a T.I.T.A.N. I’ll also explain why it’s important to delay the desire for instant gratification in favor for investing in assets for your future, why you should convert your income into assets, and why what you do with y our paycheck is going to define whether you are creating wealth.
“You are perfectly positioned, with a few changes of habit, to convert from being a H.E.N.R.Y. to becoming a T.I.T.A.N.” - Sharon Lechter

Throughout our lives, we all experience good times and not-so-good times. The not-so-good times we often call “dark times.” Sandy Parker is a former advertising guru that has worked for many national magazine companies such as Southern Living, Vouge, and The Sporting News. She decided to leave her lucrative career to follow her dream of having a family and, ultimately, feeling fulfilled and “light” in her life, her business, and her career.
Sandy formed the company, Lighten Up Global, to impact the world around her – particularly women who simply need to feel lighter and more fulfilled in their everyday life. She strongly believes that when you live a thrilling life, and taste the nectar of living, you have the energy that you need to bring into your work, your family, and your life.
On today’s episode, Sandy shares her passion for helping other women “lighten up,” her mission at Lighten Up Global, and shares the 7 steps everyone needs to take to “lighten up.”

Denise Stillman is no stranger to career pivoting. Currently working as the President and CEO at Go the Distance Baseball, LLC, her career journey began with a background in Marketing and Strategic Planning – where she worked primarily in the public relations field for over 25 years. After deciding to start a family, she quickly realized that she would need to pivot her career to make more time to spend with her children, so she decided to go back to school to get her MBA to begin working in the healthcare industry.
After spending 9 years working as a hospital executive, then several years in her own consultancy business, Denise decided to learn all she could about the real estate development industry – and she hasn’t looked back since.
Today, she is working with investors and actors like “FRIENDS” celebrity, Matthew Perry and baseball Hall of Fame member, Wade Boggs, to enrich the lives of children between the ages of ten and 14 throughout her community in Iowa by creating a real-life Field of Dreams baseball and softball field.
On today’s episode, Denise shares her story on how she gained the courage to step into her own power and trust in her own courage while creating a field of dreams for herself and those within her community.
“There have been moments when people have told me that I was crazy, but I stayed true to my inner vision, inner voice, and knew I was on the right path.” – Denise Stillman

When you look at your family picture, do you feel confident knowing that you have provided and supported your family – your children – when you pass away? Do you need a trust for your child? Many successful businesses today have achieved success simply because of their intellectual property, but protecting this type of business asset is often confusing for many entrepreneurs, industry thought-leaders, and startup companies.
What is “intellectual property” and how do you protect it?

Michael is an intellectual property attorney with the unique ability to explain complicated topics in a simple, easy-to-understand way. For many entrepreneurs, creating a business plan is motivated by their passion, their vision, and what they think will make their business a success. However, what many small business owners and new business owners often forget Is that – despite their passion, their vision – they also need to consider what their investors are looking for in a sound business plan before they determine whether to invest their money.
But, what do investors look for when reviewing a business plan? How can a small business owner identify those deciding factors and write their business plan to get a “yes” from investors?
Today, I’m talking with Michael Wolfe, a software entrepreneur with over 12 years of experience as a software investor. He shares what he – and many other investors – look for when evaluating a business plan and deciding whether to invest money into a small business.
“The best business makers are fantastic storytellers. They understand how to pitch their story to whoever their audience is.” – Michael Wolfe

Fear. It’s one of the many unspoken insecurities that plague many entrepreneurs – especially women – today. Fear can stop you in your tracks – make you doubt yourself, your abilities, your potential. How you deal with and overcome your fears can ultimately determine whether you achieve the success.

Lisa has been recognized as the number one women in the automotive industry throughout the United States. She is a highly successful serial entrepreneur and partner of Austin Mortgage Associates. On today’s episode, Lisa shares how she adopted the Fear.Less brand as one of her signature brands, how she, like many women, has had to battle fear, and how she was determined to overcome it. She also shares her 4-step system to recognizing and overcoming your fears so you can achieve the success you desire – and deserve.

The story behind Robyn Johnson’s success is quite unique. While many entrepreneurs’ stories often start from a passion to leave a 9-to-5 job that they don’t enjoy – Robyn truly loved every aspect of her job. She worked for a church – working with kids, running the youth bible school and sacraments. After the birth of her children and the medical issues that followed with her son, her family began falling on financial hard times. Robyn decided to take a leap with faith and start reselling products that she purchased from garage sales and flea markets on ecommerce sites like Craigslist, eBay, and later, Amazon.
By taking this leap with faith, in less than five years, Robyn turned her $100 initial investment into a highly successful 7-figure Amazon business. Today, not only does she employ amazing people to help her run her business – she also helps new and experienced sellers start or improve their business through her coaching, workshops, courses, as well as her podcast – The Unstoppable Entrepreneur Show.
On today’s episode, Robyn shares her success story, how she got started selling on Amazon, and why she strongly believes that, in business, “you can’t win if you don’t play.” We also discuss the ups and downs that can happen in business and she provides her insight on how to maintain balance and a clear mindset while dealing with fear.
“The impossible isn’t impossible. You just have to be willing & want to take the first step.” – Robyn Johnson

On today’s episode of Your Money, Your Business, Your Life, I’m getting down-right personal about what it really takes to make room in your life for new opportunities and new success. Sometimes, we allow fear to hold us back from achieving the amazing things we want to accomplish in life. And, just like when you buy new clothes – sometimes, you must get rid of the old comfortable sweatpants or and the hole-ridden t-shirts to make room for new, beautiful things.
Your money, your business, and your life are just like your wardrobe – sometimes you need to get rid of the old to make room for the new and improved. Today, I’m going to share with you how closing the door to a highly successful business that I built from the ground up has allowed new doors of opportunity to open. I’m going to explain why it’s important for you to take a close look at the things you are doing every day – the things that feel comfortable to you – and decide whether you’re doing them simply because they feel comfortable, or if you should consider closing that door to make room for new opportunities.
To worry is to pray for what you do not want.
