It’s finally here: the 100th episode of Viewing Party!! In this special Party edition of the show, some former guests join us to discuss our next Tatumverse movie, This Is the End! We discuss what we thought this movie should be, our favorite parts of this movie, and get paid the highest compliment about our show artwork.

In this episode we discuss rising ice cream prices, plot romantic comedies for our Enneagram types, Katie pitches a new reality dating show and we’re really excited for the special features when this movie comes out on DVD.
Wesleigh, Hannah and Kate give us an update from the Groundhog Day Marathon! We recorded this at 2am, at the halfway point. In this episode, hear us play Phase 10 (and a group of girls next to us play Settlers of Catan), gush over a real live groundhog in a bowtie, we give props to some of our fellow marathoners, and promise to check in at the end of the marathon … but don’t (sorry not sorry).

“Sci-fi meets Al Pacino? I’m in.” Inspired by Instagram, we watched S1M0NE, a movie from the early 2000s about the rise to fame of a CGI actress. In this episode of Viewing Party, we compare Childish Gambino to *NSYNC, spend too much time googling sexy shiny fabric, Katie considers becoming a Channing evangelist, and Wesleigh, much to her own chagrin, misidentifies a font (it’s Eurostile, not Bank Gothic!).
Viewing Party this week is a Special Sisters Edition featuring Katie and Hannah! While Wesleigh is out of town, the sisters accidentally watch a French film on Netflix that turns out much better than they could have hoped. In this episode, Hannah explains her fascination with horror, Katie has some all-caps feels about body hair, and they coin a better term for single that sounds less sad when explaining to the server how to split the check. In this episode, Wesleigh shares her Groundhog Day Marathon experience and fan theory, our friend Bob calls in to talk action figures and what they meant to him, we wonder why no girls' toys have made it into blockbuster franchises, and lament that JGL is completely wasted in this role.

In this episode Katie shares her dreams of being friends with Channing, Wesleigh proposes the concept of Birthday Santas, we see a Star War and talk about our favorite Christmas traditions.
This week we watched Wesleigh’s holiday pick: The Holiday! You have to get past 10 minutes of us talking about Jude Law’s hair, but we do eventually discuss the movie. In this episode Katie describes some ideal artwork she’d like to commission, we discuss the British royals, and Wesleigh gushes over how cute Jack Black is in this role.

Aside from bemoaning this movie, Katie and Wesleigh talk about current terrible weather, the weird cell phones of the mid-2000s, and, after discussing the new IT, discover a red balloon in Katie’s bedroom!
Viewing Party revisits the early 00s with a feel-good teen girl favorite: The Princess Diaries! In this episode Katie does a LOT of voices, we learn what it takes to turn Wesleigh British, and discuss dreamsicles, high-end Gordo, the key to perfect chocolate chip cookies, and the fact that Tim Burton never learns a lesson. Also, we introduce a new segment we name on the spot!
We wrap up Katie’s month-long birthday celebration with a favorite movie from her childhood: RocketMan, a space comedy HBO describes as a “zany slapstick farce." In this episode we compare this to its obvious equivilent, The Martian, google math problems and request info from NASA, learn about Katie's newfound magical butt powers and learn that friends don’t leave friends behind - even when they’re chimps. (Sorry for the loud scratchy noises! Our current recording set up is very good at making blankets sound loud and crunchy. We don't get it, either.)

We're celebrating Katie's birthday by watching her favorite movies all month! First up is perfect movie You've Got Mail, the Hanks/Ryan rom-com classic. In this episode we'll discuss sub-par guacamole, AIM, our favorite movie sidekick, Katie's love for Greg Kinnear, and the one question this movie left us with: Exactly how did Joe Fox get internet on a boat in 1998?
We return to the Tatumverse for Battle in Seattle, a movie that is not an action flick, as we expected, but instead a film based on actual events that happened in the late '90s that neither of us had ever heard of. Things take a serious turn in this episode as we do our best to have an intelligent and informed conversation about protests, police brutality, censored journalism, patriotism, and how 9/11 shaped millennials. Also: Katie does laundry, finds a knife in her couch (??), and her sister Hannah cameos!

The conversation ranges from Occam’s Razor to Brave New World to toilet humor, and that’s just the beginning. In this episode Ethan recasts the movie for its inevitable remake, Wesleigh shares how a plot point changed the course of logo history, Jeff Secrets in the wrong direction and we learn about Katie’s Netflix cameo.
Pie on a windowsill, this episode is amazing! For this week's Viewing Party we decided it was time for a musical, and dug up a classic from Wesleigh's childhood, Brigadoon. This sci-fi film masquerading as a Broadway period piece inspired discussions on sensory deprivation tanks, flirt dancing, grandmas, and Doctor Who. And in our favorite bit to date, Katie learns that Wesleigh is not immune to the power of forearms.
It's that time of the month — time for another Channing Tatum movie! Join us on a Journey Through Giggles as we watch Step Up, a pretty forgettable film we somehow were able to talk about for a whole hour. In this episode we discuss convenient character deaths, teen dance movies of the 2000s (why were there so many??), Wesleigh attempts to make a telegraph joke, and Katie describes that time she invented the sport of Chili Luge.
For our last superhero film of Marathon May, we take things in a whole different direction and watch Sky High, a teen film that feels like a Disney Channel Original Movie but was actually released in theaters with moderate success. Katie and Wesleigh describe their dream super powers and then discuss pressures put on high schoolers, how much this parallels Harry Potter, orphanages for baby villains, and why Katie still thinks Kurt Russell is in Dirty Dancing.
Turn on your Walkmans, our episode on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is here! (We're assuming you've transferred this podcast to cassette.) Katie and Wesleigh braved the theater opening weekend to bring you our commentary on the newest movie in the Marvel franchise. We'll discuss how this film rounds out all of its characters and touches on some heavy subjects, why boogers are greater than or equal to family, Space Kirk (not from the Enterprise, the other one), and learn that Wesleigh might be related to the twins from Sister, Sister.

We’ve declared May to be Marathon Month, where all the movies we watch will be on the same theme! Because we’re stoked for #GotGVol2 opening we’re watching superhero movies of all kinds. Kicking it off is the father of the modern superhero movie franchise, Superman starring Christopher Reeve. In this episode we’ll discuss how frustrating it is that science makes no sense in this movie universe, why Lois Lane is better than we remembered, and that time Katie and Wesleigh went to the Potato Salad Festival.
This week’s episode is out longest yet, and for good reason — it’s our first Channing Tatum movie! We watched the 2006 teen hit She’s the Man, the first film where Channing gets a leading role, and starring Amanda Bynes, who was much more famous than him at the time. Our discussion starts light but takes an unexpectedly serious turn into gender politics, sexual attraction, and story archetypes. Also, Katie sings us 10 different jingles!
This week Viewing Party welcomes our first guest: our friend Pam! She chose Eternal Sunshine for her guest pick, and we had a great time discussing love and loss, the weirdness of relationships, MPDGs, and at what point in the film she started crying upon her first viewing. We also read a movie review that makes Pam want to track down the author and fight them. You don't want to miss it!
For this week's Viewing Party, Katie and Wesleigh went to see Anna Kendrick's new movie, Table 19! Despite having a roster full of wonderfully comedic actors, this film was panned by critics — it's Rotten Tomatoes score is, ironically, 19% — but we found it delightful and decidedly plaid (Don't know what a 'plaid movie' is? You're about to find out!). In this episode we chat about weddings, why so many actresses are asked to cry in movies, and how much we love Stephen Merchant in this film.
After two family-friendly movies, we're changing up genres this week and jumping into the heavily-filtered world of The Fast and the Furious. Grab a cold Snapple or an iced cappuccino and join Katie and Wesleigh as we discuss street racing, the terrible fashion trends of the early 00s, alternate versions of Vin Diesel, pre-9/11 America, and how this film is similar to The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde (you know you want to hear that connection!).
"Is this a kissing book?" Yes, Baby Fred Savage, it is. In our premiere episode we visit one of the most beloved cult classics of our time: The Princess Bride. We'll discuss why this movie is so wonderful, the absurdity of the book it's based on, the heart-wrenching motivation behind Inigo Montoya, and how we would dream cast the remake NOT THAT WE ARE CONDONING THAT BEHAVIOR. Sidenote: We're aware that Billy Crystal & Carol Kane didn't win Hugos for their performance (they actually won American Comedy Awards) and that Diego Rivera and Diego Luna are not the same person (please don't tell Wesleigh's college art professors that she mixed them up).
