One might refer to Joe Atang as the "Hi!" Guy. Using a relentlessly positive approach to share his compassionate spirit, Joe has become what some might call a major "influencer" on TikTok. He spreads positivity, shares what he's learning as he goes and has become a valued presence in the lives of a great many people.
Joe is the guy who writes the word "Hi" on his hand, a simple gesture that has turned into a benchmark of his personal brand (yes, I did ask him if he's thought about simply tattooing the phrase to his palm permanently). In this conversation, Joe shares how the whole "Hi!" thing started and why he feels the response to it has been so strong.
Among the other things we talked about were what got him started on TikTok in the first place and why Gary Vaynerchuk's example has meant so much to him.
Joe shared the personal story behind the Bill Withers song, "Lovely Day" and how it became such a staple of what he shares online. He also talked about how he developed the idea of calling people while broadcasting live and what that was like when he first started to do it.

What does “community” mean in this pandemic era, and how do we continue to cultivate it?

At just 22 years old, Steve Bottrill was in a horrific car accident that left him on life support. He was in a coma for 10 days.
Steve now says that, while in the coma, he could hear the conversations the doctors were having with his parents. He heard them say he would never walk again or talk again. He heard them say that he would be connected to machines his entire life. He heard them say he would never be 100% again, that he would never go back to school or play sports.
Steve says he could hear all of those conversations around him while he was in the coma. For some reason he was determined to prove them wrong.
In this episode, you’ll find out what happened, and how you can use the same spirit to overcome whatever challenge you’re looking to overcome.

Breathe into the moment. Whatever it brings.
It's easier said than done sometimes, isn't it?
Dorman Baltazar is no stranger to challenging times, and learning how to breathe into the moment. In fact, the word "Breathe" has become synonymous with who he is, what he does and even what his businesses have been named.
At this time of this podcast discussion, Dorman is a Wholistic Lifestyle Coach who also practices and teaches yoga and meditation. But he wasn't always that way.
In this fascinating and heartfelt conversation, Dorman openly shares about his personal and professional journey, with all its twists and turns, including a stint in prison that ended up teaching him the potential power of practicing yoga, mediation and more deeply connecting with the breath.
After closing the doors to what was "Breathe Cycle and Yoga Studios" in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (due in large part to the complications and economic strain caused by the COVID-19 pandemic) Dorman came into this conversation having just launched his own online platform, "WeBreathe.ca" (http://www.webreathe.ca)
Dorman also has published a book of poetry called, "The Journey Within." This podcast conversation will serve as a rich context to either of those two things, as Dorman shares his journey, straight from his heart.
Among other things, he openly discussed:
~ What it was like to grow up in Belize, move to Southern California and how he eventually ended up in Western Canada.
~ What initially sparked his interested in racing road bikes and mountain bikes, and how that led to his interest in exploration of yoga and mediation
~ What happened that fundamentally changed his life at 36 years old, and how he managed his way through it without losing heart.
~ How he continues to deepen his awareness, meet new challenges and what he's learned about the power of being able to breathe into the moment.

Cornell Thomas is a speaker, author, coach and creator of the “Positivity Summit,” designed to help unite human beings, regardless of race, religion, political preference, or socioeconomic status. Cornell’s goal has always been to focus on the good in mankind, and not the bad.
When the coronavirus first struck one of the first questions Cornell was asked was what he will do about the Summit. His answer: pivot. Instead of holding it in one city, in one country, and in front of a limited audience, he could now make it a global event that everyone from all over the world could see simultaneously.
And with that, his Global Online Positive Summit has been born, and is set to take place on May 28 - 30, 2020.
We discussed all of this in this episode.
Cornell has gathered speakers from all over the world sharing their unique stories, and powerful messages, all in an effort to uplift others and to raise money for a firefighter’s family in his hometown of Passaic, New Jersey. He passed from Covid-19, and is survived by his wife and two children. Come join us for three days of inspiration, wisdom, and hope.

Ryan Mulligan is the owner and founder of Mulligan Realty Group, but he’ll be the first to tell you: it’s not about him.

Among other things, we discussed:
~ Why he originally didn’t want his name to be a part of the name of the business.
~ His original dream, and how it was fueled by a love of sports.

Kevin and Mark explored that along with parts of each other’s health-related ups and downs, what they’ve learned and how they've changed. Ever thought about the psychology of colour, what the different colours mean, how we can use them to learn more about ourselves and apply them effectively both at home and at work?
If so, you'll love this conversation about living life colourfully with Angela Dacey.
As Angela has said: "It’s time for YOU to take care of YOU and heal YOUR negative thoughts and feelings. Stop feeling hopeless, heavy-hearted, mentally unclear, emotionally drained and spiritually unconnected."
We talked about a lot of that (with me as the guinea pig) and much more.
Among other things, we discussed:
~ How thoughts and feelings affect our health
~ How “it’s a lot of work, to work on yourself.”
~ The positives and negatives associated with each of the main colours (e.g., Red positive = Passion | Red negative = fear)
~ Discussion on several real-life scenarios from both Kevin’s life and Angela’s life, how colour has played into it, what they’ve learned about themselves and role colour can play in moving forward.
~ They also created a recipe for the chronically under-achieving Toronto Maple Leafs!
Truly, this was a fun and fascinating discussion! We hope you enjoy it.

Now us much as ever, it sure seems like a fine time for global shift in consciousness.
But who's going to lead it?
Luckily, I know a guy.
Brendon Culliton is the founder and leader of Paradigm Shift Central, a portal for consciousness shifting media and a global team of shifters. In this episode, Brendon joined me to speak at length about both his journey of creating and leading his own paradigm-shifting movement and about his journey into consciousness in general
At ParadigmShiftCentral.com, you’ll find featured inspirational content leaders actively helping accelerate the shift in global consciousness through creativity and compassion. Brendon leads by example through a variety of different videos, including meditations, group discussions and collaboration and video blog-type observations, among other things.
In addition to his proficiency and video production and online community building, Brendon is just as likely to be found on the streets of London, Ontario offering "free hugs" and/or talking to passersby to encourage their thoughts on a particular subject, many of which will be shared to the collective via video. The result of his effort is seeing others around the world feeling inspired and encouraged by his actions. Many of them put their own ideas and efforts into play as well, and so the global shift in consciousness moves just a little bit more and a little bit more.
Among many other things, we discussed:
~ The process of creating his film, "Journey to Lucidity."
~ What led to him becoming so passionate about doing the kind of work he does.
~ When he first became aware that there was even a "paradigm" that needed "shifting," and how he knew he was meant to be involved.
~ His concept of "Radical non-worriness."
~ The human tendency to gravitate toward what we think needs to happen vs what needs to happen.

This is really a love story.
Love of what we do, how we do it ... and of each other.
Zen’za Pizzeria in London, Ontario, Canada is one of those all-too-rare, very special kinds of places that warm your spirit the moment you pass through the doors.
It’s more than the food, though that’s part of it.
It’s more than the design of the place, though that’s part of it too.
It’s a lot about the people who created it, the circumstances that led to its creation and, in face, the coming together of those two people in the first place.
We talked about all of that and more with Wayne DeGroot and Jocelyn Morwood-DeGroot in Episode 101 of “Journeys with the No Schedule Man.”
Among other things, we discussed:

Introducing ... a person I have looked up to for many years. His compassion, selflessness and caring for the community serve as a powerful example for the rest of us.
This is Wayne Dunn, the chair of the Business Cares Food Drive, with the story of how this all came to be, what makes it so special and why it's still thriving 20 years after the original idea came to life.
Among other things we discussed:
~ What Business Cares is and how it all got started back in 2000.
~ The enormity of it all, from volunteers to events to different businesses involved.
~ Why Wayne wishes it could “go away.”
~ What makes the conclusion so magical.
~ How it’s evolved over the course of two decades.
~ How things are different, if at all, with students now as opposed to a couple of decades ago.

Just as he does in his keynote presentations all over the world, Bob Kittell covers a lot of very worthwhile ground in this fun and informative conversation with Kevin.
Bob is a seasoned stage veteran, one of the masters of the craft of public speaking. His presentations on memory, mindfulness and the power of human connection have inspired audiences around the world.
For the past three decades, Bob’s award-winning, story-driven keynotes have kicked off arena-sized events such as “Get Motivated” and “The Power of Success” with Anthony Robbins in Canada, USA and Europe. He’s toured with the likes of Zig Ziglar, Colin Powell, Rudy Giuliani, Tom Hopkins, Brian Tracy, Terry Bradshaw, Joe Montana, Lou Holtz and four United States Presidents in over 300 cities, nationally and internationally.
As you might imagine, having the opportunity to speak at length with Bob was a lot of fun for Kevin, and it shows in this very lively episode.
Among other things, Kevin & Bob discussed:
~ How and why the last 365 days have been the best year of Bob’s life.
~ What he learned, has applied, and now teaches that helped him to stop feeling like a "mosquito on cocaine."
~ The difference, for him, between feeling authentic and having been somewhat inauthentic, what each of those look like, and what flipped the switch for him.
~ What got him involved in speaking at schools, why he is so passionate about it and how the students are responding.
~ One of the memory techniques he shares in his talks, and why it works so well
~ How he continues to find rewarding relationships and enriching opportunities by taking immediate action when doors open.
~ How he "accidentally" became an expert in smartphone and tech addiction, why he's so passionate about it and how it has affected him personally.
~ What “the pause” is and why it’s so beneficial to our overall well-being.
~ What so many of us do poorly, and lose any real sense of connection with others because of it.

Adam Malamis had a burning question inside of him he needed to answer. He wanted to know if he could be the kind of person one might find "running into the action when other people were running away" ... or not? I believe he has his answer. In the summer of 2019, Adam found himself - by choice - behind the lens of a camera, in full riot gear, in the middle of the conflict and protests in Hong Kong. In this conversation, Adam outlines why it was so important for him to go, what he's taken from the experience and how is travels have shaped his perspective. of life at home. Among other things, we discussed: ~ "Appreciating stillness" and his love of photography. ~ What it was like, back-packing across Europe by himself in his early 20's, and how he navigated his way through places where he didn't know he language. ~ How people ask you if you wish to eat in Mongolia. ~ How he prepared and purchased riot gear for his trip to Hong Kong. ~ What the Hong Kong experience was really like. ~ His plans for an exhibit called "Revolution Of Our Times" ~ His involvement in "The Fight To End Homelessness" here in London, Ontario, Canada and what being involved in the project has shown him about people.
Suppose you've got a great idea. Or you're simply looking to do things better. And you're one of the few who are actually set to act upon the notion and see if you can get yourself and your team somewhere new.
Awesome.
But how do you give yourself the best chance to succeed?
And what do you do when the going when the going gets rough, or find yourself looping back upon ground you've already tread?
That's where a guy like Joseph Heraldo comes in.
Joseph is a Change Management Consultant and CEO of MeasuredLive.com. When asked, he says simply, "My job is to help people's dreams come true."
He does that by helping leaders eliminate their barriers and committing to their vision, enabling their teams to share and work together toward their big ideas.
The magical thing about Joseph is that what he shares about how to get from concept to completion is not the sort of thing we may be used to hearing or expecting to be told.
Not only is his insight and wisdom effective, it's refreshing.
Among other things we discussed:
~ Challenging the old ideas of always be pushing, grinding and sacrificing your well-being . If you're pursuing a dream, why live it like a nightmare?
~ How strategy is a process and only works when people execute.
~ How vital Integrity is to the equation and how it is a missing component in so much business language today.
~ The unstoppable power of listening.
~ Viewing people as people instead of statistics.
~ The staggering percentage of effort that is tied up in administration, and what can be done about it.
“Journeys with the No Schedule Man” is presented by:
Imagine ... ocean.
Everywhere you look: ocean.
You're at sea.
By yourself.
And you're going to stay that way until you've gone all the way around the world.
Alone.
What would that be like?
How would it feel?
Here's our chance to find out, chatting with Gaurav Shinde, who is already in preparation to take leave from his home and work here in London, Ontario, Canada, to sail solo around the world in a race in 2022.
Among other things we discussed…
~ What introduced him into sailing in the first place.
~ How exclusive a group it is, the people who have done what he is looking to do.
~ The lively tale of his initial 800-mile adventure across the Arabian Sea at just 24 years of age, and how that hooked him on sailing.
~ What appeals to him about the thought of 9 months at sea, all by himself.
~ The remarkable story of the very special boat that will take him around the world in 2022, and his journey to finding it.
~ The route that he will be taking for the race in 2022 and how he will provision for the journey.
~ An overview of the work that needs to be done between now and September of 2022, when he leaves France to begin the race.
“Journeys with the No Schedule Man” is presented by:
Do you have children?
Do those children have access to the internet?
If so, please watch or listen to this conversation with Charlene Doak-Gebauer.
As you'll see and hear, it left Kevin at a loss for words.
Several times.
An international speaker, Charlene is the creator of the charitable organization, "Internet Sense First," the author of two books ("Digital Sexual Victims: True Cases" and "The Internet: Are Children in Charge?") and the drivng force behind The International Summit To End Child Exploitation (November 9, 2019 at the Hellenic Centre in London, Ontario, Canada).
I found some of what Charlene shared very difficult to hear. In consideration of that, I cannot image actually LIVING through what is happening to many children, right under our noses. We better hear about it and discuss it so that we can keep more people from living through it.
Among other things, we discussed:
"Grooming," and how online sexual predators often communicate and what they do to draw out information from potential victims.
Signs to look for from online gaming sexual predators.
Why something that could well be in your child's phone - that they might think is funny - could actually be a criminal offence.
An overview of the three steps to Charlene's model for digital supervision: a) Awareness b) Method (how and what to check) c) Hope
This is an important story that may well save lives and save families. If you have friends and family with children, please share this with them.

What, exactly, is an "Awesomepreneur?"
How does the idea uniquely contribute to people in business growing and thriving at work and at home?
Where did the idea come from ?
Where it is going?
We discussed that and much more with Kyle Blythe, founder & CEO of Awesomepreneurs Inc. in Ep. 88 of "Journeys with the No Schedule Man."
Among other things, we chatted about:
What Awesomepreneurs is and how it was born
His pivotal choice to "sink or swim."
The challenges that immediately stood in his way and what he's done to meet and overcome them.
How he feels "it's not about me" and some examples of the kinds of people that have become involved and why they have.
The power of having a lot of regrets.
The tricky balance between service and self-care.
“Journeys with the No Schedule Man” is presented by:
Brett Lucier, the owner of Provincial Glass and Mirror, is a terrific example of the power of resourcefulness, hard work, patience and perseverance.
Brett began his career with Provincial Glass in an entry-level position. And he'll be the first to tell you: he broke a lot of glass at the start.
But he just kept working his way up until, one day, he became the owner of the company and one of London, Ontario's true community leaders.
How did he do it and what can we learn from it?
That's the story we shared in this episode.
Among the things we discussed ...
Getting into your chosen field, finding out it's not what you thought, dealing with that disappointment and deciding what to do next.
Transferable skills - your role may change and your setting may change but you will always take your interests and values along with you and it's amazing how they can be applied (and even reignited) in new ways and new environments.
Why surrounding yourself with - and truly making the effort to get to know - good people is so important for a successful company culture.
How to deal with new challenges as you continue to develop and grow.
The power of resourcefulness and work ethic mixed with patience and perseverance. It was an 18-year journey from the time he first started at the company to becoming sole owner. And as you'll hear him say, he feels like the story is just beginning ...

Thanks to all who are helping us to connect and share!
Ever had a "lightning bolt" moment and followed the inspiration?
Feel like you have multiple interests rather than doing "just one thing?"
Believe in connecting and building community over comparing and competing?
If so, you'll relate to what Jenna Goodhand, founder of The Hive London, shares in this lively conversation.
Jenna is a dynamic, compassionate, creative person with multiple personal and professional interests, hence the title of the episode: "Doing All Of The Things."
Among the things we discussed:
The "Lighting bolt" moment that precipitated The Hive coming to life.
Thinking about "relationships" and "sharing" vs always "selling."
How it's, "not about the things I'm doing, but about how I FEEL about the things I'm doing." And how sometimes, those feelings change.
How learning to let go and say goodbye is a natural part of growth
How "community" is inclusive and not competitive.
Responding to challenges, change and adversity.
What does real leadership look like? How can we all be better leaders, at home and at work?
That's what we discussed here with Loretta Smith, founder and President of Genesis Executive Management Inc.
Loretta is a respected business strategist, a problem solver with international experience and a dynamic leadership coach. She is known for her integrity, candor and broad vision – and for always asking the tough questions that help business leaders to embrace the courage to lead.
Among other things, we discussed:
~ What effective leadership looks like.
~ The two main jobs real leaders have.
~ Taking ownership & individual leadership.
~ The Key principles of leadership.
~ Accountability vs. Apathy (aka, 'There's nothing I can do.")
“Journeys with the No Schedule Man” is presented by:
Kevin is joined by W.T. Hamilton, a multi-time author, consultant, success systems coach and just a really good human being.

Are we shaping - and sharing - our own stories in our own way?
It might seem like an obvious question. I believe most of us would say, "Well of course. Of course that's what I'm doing."
But is it really? Or are we doing, saying, and sharing what we think we should, recreating some version of what we see from others?
Each of us has our own unique story, history, interests, values, areas of specialty and unique take on life and work. Each of us has the same opportunity to share those things and connect with the people that we are uniquely equipped to serve, in our own way.
And from here on out, whenever anybody says to me, "Oh, I could never do that," I will point to the story of this week's guest: Eric Gagne.
When it comes to money, are you a magician, a tyrant or a fool? In this episode, we’re talking about money, and more specifically, our individual relationship, mindset and habit patterns related to money and the common challenges that sometimes go with that.
Cheryl Campbell is a Certified Money Coach & Financial Planner. Her emphasis is on helping others like herself get out of the rut of living other people’s lives and truly start living the life that they were meant to live.
Can you step out of your own story long enough to see yourself from an outside perspective? Are you able to honestly and objectively consider yourself and your activities from someone else’s viewpoint, and then ask and answer the question: Why would they care?
This week, we’re joined by Lisa Brandt, who describes herself on her website as "An experienced author, reliable writer-for-hire, long-time broadcaster and versatile voice-artist."
At the time of this recording, she has just released her latest book, “Make the Media Want You.” It's her fifth turn as an author, with some of her other more recent books including “My Sepsis Story” and “The Naked Truth.”
Lisa is presently the morning show co-anchor at News Talks 1290 CJBK radio in London, Ontario, the most recent stop in a distinguished broadcasting and journalism career (she tells much more of the story of her background when she joined me a couple of years ago, in Episode 6: "Balancing Multiple Creative Passions”).
I've read “Make the Media Want You” and I loved it. Its principles truly speak to the challenges that come up in the work I do with small businesses, non-profit organizations and community groups, particularly as it relates to marketing and communication.
While this episode is very much a conversation, Lisa's part of it is loaded with valuable insight on what to do, and what not to do,if you are looking to reach out to members of the media in hopes of securing more exposure for whatever it is that you're working on.
Just a sample of some of the areas where Brandt suggests people often misstep include:
If you're looking to connect with members of the media or just do a better job of effectively communicating in general, there are all kinds of key tidbits and takeaways in this discussion that will help you!
How in touch are you with who you really are and what you really want to be doing?
Are you going through life doing all the things you feel you should be doing? Or are you absolutely certain you’re the path for which you are uniquely suited, in touch with the kind of life and work that will continue to light up your soul for as long as you’re alive?
In this episode, we're joined by Alina Calinescu, a kind and gentle soul who asked herself those very questions not all that long ago. As has been the case with so many others who have shared their stories on this podcast, Alina found that her true path was divergent from where she started out.
Originally from Romania, Alina followed in her father's footsteps and became an engineer. But some time after moving to Canada and being introduced to fitness, something new clicked in her spirit. A little over a decade ago, she listened to what she calls a "gut feel" and changed her career path to one of fitness, yoga and meditation.
Now a yoga teacher, therapist, educator, what she loves most is to share iRest (Integrative Restoration) Yoga Nidra. iRest is known to help alleviate stress, help us sleep better and heal unresolved issues. It can also allow us recognize an underlying peace of mind that is always present within us - no matter what circumstances we are facing in life.
In sharing so much about her personal and professional journey, Alina said several things that truly resonated with me. Some examples include:
I also love how she described what she does as “part science and part art.”
What are you competing for?
Jake Thompson is Founder and Chief Encouragement Officer at Compete Every Day® a global lifestyle brand committed to reminding you that your life is worth fighting for. They strive to reignite the competitive fire already within you that's necessary to achieve life’s victories.
From a passion project to a worldwide motivational brand, Jake started Compete Every Day to connect competitors, provide quality apparel, and motivate fans to live a powerful life.
Like most entrepreneurial adventures, this one has had its share of ups and downs. Among the many valuable insights Jake shares are his reflections on how hard it has been, and how much he’s had to grow both personally and professionally in order to keep Compete Every Day on a positive path.
Another very important distinguishing factor that I hope people will notice is how much Jake’s brand is tied into story. In fact, the whole thing is a story, tying into his podcast, speaking and the Compete Every Day community.
Storytelling is a powerful, magnetic and very natural human mechanism for creating emotional buy-in and bringing people together. In my opinion, anyone looking to more effectively market their business would be well-served by carefully considering what Jake has to share on this subject.
A few of the key things that stood out from my time with Jake included:
“Building a giant sand castle” with his life - It always interests me to discover what motivates people to step out and build something all their own, as Jake has done with Compete Every Day. Even more interesting to me was Jake’s reflection on how he felt he was “building a giant sand castle” with his life and decided he want to use his time to do something that made more of an impact.
Ignorant enough to be dangerous & willingness to step into conflict - It’s amazing what can be accomplished when you don’t let what you don’t know get in your way.
Power of story and storytelling - Back to the “sand castle” idea, Jake came to realize his life was missing a great story element and he became determined to do something about it.
When you daydream about the things you really wish you could be doing or would like to be doing, how much does potential feedback from the "naysayers" influence what you do ... or choose not to do?
Tim Alison is a semi-retired entrepreneur who, at the time of this recording is just about to release a book called "Screw the Naysayers." He has already started producing and sharing a podcast of the same name.
Tim's primary goal? To empower young people to do the work they are uniquely suited to do and live a life that aligns their work with the things they care about most.
His message is simple: Know the life you want and have the courage to live it.
Today, Tim shares the lessons he gathered along his journey while outlining how and why his "Screw the Naysayers" movement was born.
How willing are you to go into the storm and then wait for what you want?
Today’s guest, Brian Spencer, has set a great example of how to mix passion and perseverance with patience by living the kind of story that you don’t hear about every day.
Known as the “Canadian Storm Chaser,” Brian loves to chase tornadoes. And I don’t mean metaphorical emotional storms (though, like anyone else, he’s been through his share of those too). I mean that, once he discovered he held a fascination with the power and ferocity nature sometimes unleashes in the form of tornadoes, he was determined to get as close to them as possible. He has, and you’re going to hear about it today.
Brian is also a successful business person, operator of a company called Streaming Incorporated while also continuing to serve as creator and curator of a very popular website called PearlJamLive.com.
There is a strong thread of curiosity, passion, connection, challenge, perseverance and patience that runs through all aspects of Brian’s story, and the lesson is (I think) that in order to catch our dreams, we sometimes have to be willing to chase a storm or two and also be willing to wait for things to develop - or not - in their own time.
What would have to change in your life for you to consider it a “miracle?”
Today, we’re joined by Nichole Wynter, a Miracle Life Coach. Nichole helps ambitious business women materialize miracles in their business and in their lives.
Among the many areas where Nichole helps her clients: managing their distractions, overcoming the need to please others (so you stop saying yes, when you mean to say no) and to execute their plans so that they can materialize their own miracles within their business & life.
As you’re going to hear, Nichole is the perfect person to coach on this because it’s exactly what she’s done in her own life and work.
A few of the key Takeaways
Significance - What gives us a feeling of significance and what we’re doing to contribute to the feeling of significance of the people around us (in her case, husband and kids)
You’re Going To Have Doubts - No matter how certain of something we feel when we start out, it’s inevitable that we’re going to encounter doubt along the way; from people we love, from people don’t know … and from ourselves. It’s just part of the process.
Leadership in life & work - Ultimately, it’s up to us to recognize and decide what it is we want to stand for and how we want to be viewed as a leader, at home and at work. As Nichole said in our conversation, “If you don’t set the culture, you allow the culture to form.” In other words … if you don’t choose, life will choose for you. Most of us don’t realize how much influence we hold over our own experience through our power to choose.
Something else Nichole mentioned near the end of this chat is how she feels that self awareness is an absolute game-changer when it comes to making the choices that shape our actions that turn into the experience we’re having at home and at work. I could not possibly agree with her more.
If my guest and I could take one of your fears and flush it away forever … which would it be?
That’s a huge part of what Beth Allen helps people do, and she’s joining us today to share her story, which I know you’re going to love.
A little bit about Beth: she is the Founder of HIP Chicks (the Home Improvement Project Chicks), which is for real homeowners wanting real DIY direction to save money, time and stress. HIP Chicks is for women and men, ready to be strong homeowners and fearless people, too.
One of Beth’s central topics is “Flush the Fear.” As an author and speaker, she actually brings a toilet up on stage to help give people a “Do It Yourself” guide to letting go of that nasty stuff in your life that has you stuck.
Whether your hangups are about money, relationships, health, and work, Beth can help you put it into perspective
The University of Michigan men's basketball team made it all the way back to the Final Four championship game again this year. Here is the remarkable story of one of the top recruits in U of M's basketball history, Jerod Ward, the incredible adversity he encountered, how he dealt with it and what it's taught him.
Reclaiming human connection. That’s the mission of today’s guest, Joe Beckman, who visits educational settings around the world.
It's Joe’s feeling that our schools are experiencing an unprecedented shift and that student loneliness is at an all-time high while self-worth and feelings of belonging are at all-time lows. Joe feels the culprit is lack of human connection, and I'm pretty sure I agree with him. And I would say, not just connection with each other, but with ourselves.
Among the things that really stood out to me from this conversation with Joe were:

What do you think would happen, in work and at home, if you were to allow yourself to be exactly who you are, embrace who you are not, connect with the people for whom you are a fit, and joyfully wish all others well as you let them go along on their own unique path, with or without you?
Today I’m going to introduce to somebody who is doing that better than just about anyone else I’ve ever seen.
Matthew Kimberley is the creator of Professional Persuasion and author of the self-help classic, 'How To Get A Grip.' He trains sales teams and helps very small personality-led businesses get more customers (www.matthewkimberley.com).
But more than any of that, when I first came across Matthew and his work, his voice, I felt like I had finally found a breath of pure oxygen in world full of carbon dioxide. Or more specifically, someone in the sales, marketing, coaching and speaking space who is actually REAL, an authentic and 100% genuine voice shared by someone who is perfectly happy to be exactly who he is.
It was an absolute pleasure, having the opportunity to speak with Matthew. I hope you enjoy the conversation as much as I did.
Do you sometimes feel “trapped by love?” That’s a phrase that came up in the conversation you’re about to hear, with Pauline Duncan-Thrasher. I was instantly intrigued by that notion, as I know of so many people who do, in fact, feel “trapped” in a bad relationship with their partners, parents, grown kids, friends, family members, co-workers … or even themselves.
Pauline is a trainer, coach, keynote speaker and author who helps people to live, learn and lead with love. Her mission is to help other believe in their own amazing selves.
This chat with Pauline is a touching, thought-provoking, fully transparent recounting of a story that will probably be familiar to a great many people, maybe even to you. I hope it helps.

Do you have the courage it takes to tell your own story, in your own way?
Today we’re joined by Katie Kozlowski, a spiritual teacher, self realization coach and healer (although she more recently has been referring to herself as a “Wizard,” which I think is a good term!).
Katie can now add “author” to that list, and she has contributed a chapter to a book called, “Simply...Woman: Stories from 30 Magnificent Women Who have Risen Against The Odds,” due to be released on International Women’s Day on March 8, 2018.
In this episode, Katie takes us into the process of finding the courage to tell her own story in her own way. Among the many highlights I enjoyed from this discussion included Katie’s thoughts on:
~ Trying to figure out what might sell as opposed to what you really want to create.
~ The power of imagination and storytelling (how we used to teach).
~ Why it takes courage to tell your story.

Are you saying yes to yourself and the things that matter most to you in this life? Or are you saying yes to everything else and putting yourself second, or 3rd, or 4th, or worse?
And how exactly are you supposed to know the difference?
This conversation with Tonia Adleta is going to provide some very helpful perspective for anyone who has lived so much of their life trying to do everything they really thought they were supposed to do, all the while unknowingly shrinking away from who they really are.
Tonia is an international speaker, the founder and host of The Single Parent Summit and the owner of multiple businesses, including an award-winning wedding and event planning and floral design company. She describes herself as a “recovering perfectionist” and single mom to the two most amazing kids ever.
Some of the key takeaways from this episode:
~ There's no such thing as work-life balance. There's just life.
~Mindfulness and presence versus looking backward or forward. If you’re always looking back and rehashing old memories of bad things, you’re being a victim. But if you’re looking forward to the next moment you hope to be better than this one, you’re delaying the future. Either way, you’re not being mindful of the present, which is a road to nowhere …
~ The Importance of Awareness – “People that don't get it don't get that they don't get it.” Tonia gives a great account of why this is important if we want to be well and happy.
Also listen for her story about being on the floor of the bathroom when she was living in a mobile home. We’ve all had that moment.
It’s not just you.
**This episode was originally released in July of 2017 under its original name, “The No Schedule Man Podcast.”
How long are you willing to work for “overnight success?” And, once you think you’ve found it, how can you be sure?
This week, we’re joined by Greg Schinkel, President of Unique Training and Development and a Certified Speaking Professional. Greg’s story is a clear example of the value and reality of process, in business and in life, and what it really takes to become a great leader and to have any chance at becoming what we might refer to as an “overnight success.”
Among the key things I took away from my time with Greg include:
The question this week is: what are you afraid of? We are going to dive deeply into that today and give you some tools to overcome it.
Today, we kick off the 3rd season of this podcast with Sue Curr, who helps people to “Fear Less, Live More” as a speaker, coach and workshop facilitator.
This Sue’s second time joining me on this program. I encourage you to go back and listen Episode 23, where Sue goes into great detail about the first 50 years of her life, her descension into mental ill health and near fatal bout with alcoholism. Having survived the trauma of her past, Sue set about rebuilding her life. What you’re going to hear today is the result, and it’s profound.
Among the key takeaways that stood out from my time with Sue include:

The question this week is ... what are you choosing? What choices are you making for yourself and how are you allowing your current circumstances to affect those choices about what’s possible for the future?
Today, you are going to enjoy listening to a story that very well could be made into a movie at some point. This tale is going to take you to a variety of different lands, environments, challenges and choices that have delivered all kinds of valuable life lessons along the way.
This week, we are joined by Rakesh Mishra, an international speaker, coach and expert on mindset.
At his website, Rakesh describes himself as, “An Indian village boy who made millions in Canada.” Today, you’re going to hear how he did that, going from growing up in a village with no electricity, television or automobiles to another part of the world entirely, and all of the remarkable - and sometimes absolutely soul-crushing - challenges he has met along the way.
This is truly a remarkable story from a remarkable person.
Some of the key takeaways from my time with Rakesh include:
As with all things, it comes down to getting back to where we started … it’s a choice. And as Rakesh likes to say, “As long as you are breathing, it’s not done yet.”
You are going to LOVE this story!

The question this week is.. how do I create a life that I love? And how do I build a plan to achieve it, while taking total responsibility for each and every step, past, present and future?
This week, we’re joined by Dan Martell, an award-winning entrepreneur and founder of Clarity, a venture-backed startup he built to make it easy to connect with top business minds over the phone. It was recently acquired by Fundable.
Dan previously co-founded Flowtown, a San Francisco based social marketing product which raised funding, grew to over 50,000 customers and, in 2011, was acquired by Demandforce (INTU:NASDAQ). In 2012, Dan was named Canada’s top angel investor having completed over 33 investments with amazing companies like Udemy, Intercom and Unbounce.
Dan is passionate about sharing everything he knows to help other people, especially in the art and creativity of business and entrepreneurship. He is just as passionate - if not more so - about helping at-risk teens, and you’re going to hear why, as Dan shares very openly about his experiences, both good and challenging. To put it plainly, Dan had a very bumpy ride as a younger person.

This week, we revisit a chat with Cole Pearn that originally took place in January, 2017, just a few weeks prior to the Daytona 500 and the start of the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series season.
11 months later, Pearn is now a NASCAR Champion, Crew Chief of the #78 Furniture Row Racing team driven by Martin Truex Jr.
Truex & Pearn won 8 races in 2017, including the final contest at Homestead, Florida, where they beat out Brad Keselowski, Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch, all former series champions in their own right. They also collected wins at Las Vegas, Kansas (twice), Kentucky, Watkins Glen, Chicago and Charlotte through the course of the season.
In this discussion, Pearn recalls his journey that has taken him from following in his dad’s footsteps as teenager racer based out of a tiny little town called Mount Brydges, Ontario, to leaving his job at Toyota to go to North Carolina to eventually earning the Crew Chief’s post with Furniture Row Racing and the incredible success they’ve enjoyed ever since.
This story is a testament to knowing what you want, having the guts to go after it and to working relentlessly to do the right things over and over and over again until the results come.
Pearn didn’t know he would be at the time we had this chat, but he is now a NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Championship-winning Crew Chief.

The question this week is … how are you going to respond when adversity strikes? What about what it strikes again after that? And again after that?
How many times are you willing to get back up?
I would have been 20 years old when today’s guest, Jerod Ward, was named the Naismith Player of the Year award in 1994. That means Jerod was ranked as the #1 high school basketball player in all of the United States.
That’s a big deal. And a lot of pressure.
I remember it. I followed US College Basketball pretty closely at that time, and I well remember when Jerod chose to attend the University of Michigan, a basketball power in that era. Jerod seemed destined, not just for college basketball stardom, but for a long NBA career as well.
It didn’t quite work out that way.
Injuries derailed Jerod, time and time again. After multiple knee surgeries Jerod described himself as not only physically but also mentally broken down. He gives a vivid account of those days in our discussion.
Amazingly, he somehow persevered, and went on to play professionally for 14 years at the highest levels worldwide
Through it all, the adversities have taught Jerod to never give up. He now has gone on to motivate and educate people with his keystone philosophy of NBA: “Never Be Average.”
When Jerod talks about eating adversity, he means “EAT” as an acronym for Embrace, Act and Thrive.
In addition to his speaking, Jerod still stays close to the game he loves. He is a college basketball analyst with networks including ESPN.
Some of the key takeaways from this chat with Jerod include:
This really is a remarkable story, and Jerod does such an incredible job to share it so openly and transparently. I know you’re going to enjoy it.

The question this week is: What is your gut telling you?
This week, we’re joined by Sunil Godse, a highly successful author, coach, speaker and entrepreneur who has harnessed the power of intuition to grow businesses to a combined $20 million.
He helps companies earn record profits as a consultant and transforms people’s lives by unlocking their intuitive potential as a personal coach.
He is also the author of two extremely popular books, “Fail Fast. Succeed Faster”.and “GUT!” which have each sold tens of thousands of copies worldwide.
Sunil has recognized the true power of intuition. On one hand, trusting it has been directly responsible for the success that he has enjoyed, while ignoring it has led to devastating consequences, and he tells very transparent stories about both sides of that equation in this discussion.

The question this week is … what are you trying to get done? Through all of the noise, the problems or potential, policies and procedures, distractions or market fluctuations... what does it all really come down to? What are you trying to get done?
If you can get clear on that, and get real with yourself, there’s a good chance you’ll start getting good results, at least according to Loretta Smith.
I completely agree with her.
Loretta is the founder and president of Genesis Executive Management Inc., which inspires business executives to effectively and efficiently challenge the status quo, drive results and set the tone for excellence. Loretta and her team do this through executive coaching, human capital solutions, strategic thinking & training programs and leadership development.
Well known for her integrity, candor and broad vision, Loretta has developed a well-earned reputation of inspiring bold, smart action through a direct, no-nonsense approach and for always being willing to immediately address the tough questions.
Speaking with Loretta was a breath of pure oxygen for me. She speaks with incredible clarity on issues and ideas I feel passionate about. But I run into very few people who see the natural crossover that I see, from personal growth into the business world, related to character traits such as authenticity, awareness, integrity, and truly understanding one's vision and values. So to hear Loretta speak was both exciting and educational.
I have worked with, and for, my share of businesses who say they are one thing and then do another, and then wonder why they have a difficult time holding on to good people and sustaining exceptional results over a sustained period of time. My recommendation is that they give Loretta a call.
With that in mind, here are just a few of the key points from our conversation I thought I would highlight:
The lost art of being a child - complexity vs simplicity.
Vision vs. problem - Her fabulous “Apollo 13” analogy.
3 .Are you actually SEEING people or just observing?
What you are about to hear, in my opinion, is incredibly valuable for anyone in business. Loretta shares all kinds of empowering, actionable information and the best part about it is that it is all fundamentally pretty simple.

Revisiting a discussion with Mike Mulligan, owner and founder of Moving Forward Rehabilitation and Wellness Centre. In this conversation, Mike recalls the incident that left him a C4 quadriplegic at just 16 years of age, and the incredible journey in the time since as he strives to achieve his goal of walking again. He also takes us through the ups and downs of adjusting to a completely new way of life and challenging himself to move toward his goals despite the challenges. He also vividly describes the highs of meeting certain milestones and personal goals and offers some valuable perspective for anyone looking to make improvements with their life and to pursue their dreams.

The question this week is … what is it exactly that you think is going to make you happy?
Over and over again, I’m hearing stories of people who find - often after some time and a lot of struggle - that the answer to that question is not often found by acquiring or attracting anything outside of yourself … .but rather allowed by fully embracing who you already are. Such is the case with this week’s guest, Lori Peters.
In this episode, we talk about happiness and relationships on many different levels. I know countless people who have felt - or currently feel - hopeless, for one reason or another. I’ve been there too. So whether we’re arrived at that place or not, how do we move forward to find and embrace happiness; true and lasting joy and contentment?
Lori Peters has a great story to tell that I think you’re really going to enjoy.
Lori is the author of “Getting Married At Last: My Journey From Hopelessness To Happiness”. She has been published and featured in several media outlets including Huffington Post, Your Tango, Brides, Fox News Magazine and more.
She is also the host of the “Happiness Hangout®” Radio Show, which has gained thousands of listeners as she and her guests dive into deep and interesting topics around personal relationship happiness and well-being.
Lori has enjoyed 25-year career in higher education, currently, teaching as a College Instructor in social sciences. She has been doing personal development presentations for over 25 years.
Lori is passionate about work-life balance, relationships, and helping people to feel their best during times of challenge, and she has a wonderful story and perspective to share.
Just some of the key things I took from this conversation with Lori include:
So often we look for something or someone outside of ourselves to come along and make everything right. The perfect partner, the perfect job, the perfect house. Here is yet another story that provides evidence that once you can be completely at peace with who you already are, all the other things in your life start to line up.

What’s really stopping you?
What is it really that is holding you back from doing the things you want to do in living the life you want to live?
Today, you are going to hear from somebody unstoppable. That's WHO she is. That's HOW she is. And it is how you are going to feel after you listen to her.
Unstoppable Tracy Schmitt is an award winning Leader, Humanitarian, Advocate, Decorated Athlete and International Speaker. She is now adding “author” to her long list of amazing accomplishments. Her upcoming book is called ‘Unstoppable YOU; Exceed Uncertainty, Embrace Possibilities, Earn Independence’.
Tracy has been featured in Oprah Magazine during her latest adventure as Quest for the Gold Athlete who competed in World Cup Olympic Class Sailing! Tracy has been was Thrive’s magazine cover girl. She has climbed mountains in Nepal, captained 110-foot-tall ship in the Eastern Atlantic, won a bronze medal in para-alpine skiing trial and has worked as a Corporate Consultant while at Air Canada (AC) and Shoppers Drug Mart (SDM), two of Canada’s largest and most recognized brands.
Oh, did I mention she was born a 4-way amputee?
That's right. Tracy does not have any fully-formed arms or legs. Try to keep that in mind as you hear her speak and then maybe ask yourself… what is it, really, that is holding you back?
Some of the key things I took from my time with Tracy include:

Can you change people’s lives for the better simply by being yourself?
The answer is absolutely yes. I know this for a fact because MY life has been changed for the better thanks to today’s guest, Kevin O’Hara of Alcohol Mastery.
Kevin O'Hara is a very normal person who is doing extraordinary things. He has improved lives all around the world simply by having the courage to be exactly who he is and to allow himself to be vulnerable enough to openly and authentically share his journey and progress as he goes. In his case, the mission was to stop drinking alcohol and to help others who wanted to do the same.
What made what Kevin is doing so extraordinary is that he not only made the commitment to stop, but he put himself on video at that most vulnerable of times and got into the habit of sharing his progress by way of a weekly video journal on YouTube. He was almost a full year into it by the time I came across him and by that time, he had already built a large and loyal following of people like me from all around the world.
Kevin has now written several books, created many helpful online courses, has created an extraordinary volume of videos which are all available at absolutely no cost on his YouTube channel oh, and for those who would like to get some one-on-one support, Kevin presently offers some one-on-one coaching support as well.
Some of the key things I took from this chat with Kevin:
1 - Failing doesn’t bring you back to zero
2 - Identify and re-frame your “kryptonite” (his story about how he envisions “Gollum” from Lord of the Rings as the negative voice)
3 - The irony of the “real” buzz

Can you build a business worth multiple hundreds of millions of dollars, and even a multi-billion-dollar business, by putting people first and doing the right thing?
The answer must be yes, because that’s what Jim Estill does..
Jim is the CEO and president of Danby, an appliance company based in the city of Guelph, Ontario, not too far from Toronto.
Jim recently sponsored more than 50 families of Syrian refugees to get resettled in the Guelph area. He was named to the Order of Ontario here in Canada, the province’s highest honour.
But that’s not why Jim did it. He did it because he felt it was the right thing to do, and he actually feels guilty that he’s not able to help everyone.
And while we did discuss the decision - and process - to facilitate assisting those families, I was really interested in Jim’s journey overall, and what led him to be in the position he’s in today.
Some of the key things I took away from my time with Jim include
20 Keys To Set Jim Free - Jim tells an important story of the time in his career when he was micromanaging to the point of exhaustion. Always the first to arrive and the last to leave, the solution was to get - and give - 20 keys; one of each of his staff.
Doing the right thing scales - The golden rule is a deep well. A very deep, empowering and magnetic well.
One of the best ways to be of more service and value to others, is two continue to grow and work on yourself - Jim is a shining example of the value that can be brought to others by taking on the task of improving oneself. He gives many examples of how his done that and why, and how that’s benefited his life and career.
If you have any interest in building business with integrity, you will enjoy Jim’s story. And perhaps more fundamentally, if you just like to hear about good people doing good in the world not for any other reason but that it's the right thing to do, you’re really going to like this.

How can you really ever know what your limits are unless you are constantly testing and challenging them?
And when times are tough, how does one continue to pour hope into people?
Mike Pierce, better known as “Antarctic Mike,” is a professional speaker who works with organizations that want to find, engage and keep the best-performing people.
And, boy, can he ever tell a story.
With a successful background in sales and recruitment, Mike had a long-held desire to speak professionally. In 2001, he came across a book called “Shackleton's Way,” which told the story of a team of 28 men trying to become the first group to attempt to cross the Antarctic on foot, back in 1914. They became stranded for over two years before finally returning home. As you’ll hear from Mike, that book and its contents had a profound effect on him and his life and career from that point forward.
In the time since, Mike became one of nine people to run the first ever Antarctic Ice Marathon and later became the first American to run the Antarctic 100K, a grueling 62 miles on an ice shelf 600 miles from the South Pole.
What I haven’t mentioned yet is that Mike lives in Southern California. If you lived among the swaying palm trees, would you challenge yourself to a) run a marathon and b) do it in so harsh an environment as Antarctica? And how would you even adequately prepare for change in environment like that?
In this episode, Mike addresses both why and how he did those things in a very captivating fashion.
His flagship program, “Leading At 90 Below Zero,” connects the principles of Antarctic expedition history to the real world of finding, engaging and keeping great people in today's business world.
Mike shares all kinds of incredible wisdom and experience in this extraordinary story. Here are just three things that stood out to me:
How far would you be willing to go to make a difference for someone you love and for something that you believe in? And, what is one thing that you can do, to take that first step to just get started?
John Davidson is an incredible man who has had an extraordinary positive impact on people around the world. Some have benefited directly through the formation of the Jesse’s Journey organization and all of the research and proactive work that has been done to combat Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy thanks to John and his family. Countless others have been inspired and empowered by viewing John's example, the example of his son Jesse, his wife Sherene and all of the selfless volunteers who not only helped John make Jesse’s Journey into a living and breathing entity, but who continue to blaze the trail and keep the work going today.
In the summer of 1995, at the age of 49, John set out on an incredible mission to push Jesse, wheelchair-bound at 15 years old at the time, across the province of Ontario. That's 3339 km. That grueling test of endurance generated 1.5 million dollars for research.
Three years later, in 1998, John set out on an even more imposing adventure, spending 286 consecutive days on the road as he journeyed 8,300 km all the way across the entire country of Canada … on foot. That trip generated $2 million in grassroots donations made by Canadians across the country. And the movement has only grown from there.
The rest, I would prefer to let you hear straight from John as he tells an extraordinary story and shares so many valuable insights and life lessons that I really hope that you listen carefully, perhaps several times.
How far would you go?
In the final of four “Special Edition” episodes to launch the podcast’s new name (“Journeys with the No Schedule Man”), Kevin reflects on the evolution of his life’s journey in the time since he began the podcast. For this four weeks, Kevin has hand-picked specific conversations that have made a major impact on his personal and professional development, noting why that’s been the case and how what he’s learned may be of some help to you, too.
For this episode, Cornell Thomas joins Kevin for an all-new segment and introduction, as they both reflect back on how profound a connection they made when they collaborated on their initial episode, and why their friendship has become so strong, so quickly (to give you an idea, Kevin’s son, Jaden, calls Cornell his “uncle”). In the time since they first connected, both Kevin and Cornell have taken major strides in pursuing their life’s passion. In Cornell’s case, he’s since launched his podcast, “Population Unplugged,” and has just released another book, “Extra-Ordinary: The Distance Between Good and Great.” Cornell discusses both those projects in the new segment.

With an all new introduction and wrap-up, this episode features a lot of new content and perspective, along with a reflection upon a meeting and first conversation between two people who would become fast friends and creative collaborators. Meeting Gair Maxwell changed Kevin’s life, and put his efforts to pursue a speaking career into overdrive. An award-winning international speaker and author himself, Maxwell saw something in Kevin from their first meeting. What happened next is the subject of Kevin’s opening to this episode, as he examines his own personal and professional reinvention in an effort to encourage you to consider yours.

For this four weeks, Kevin has hand-picked specific conversations that have made a major impact on his personal and professional development, noting why that’s been the case and how what he’s learned may be of some help to you, too.
With an all new introduction and wrap-up, this episode features a lot of new content and perspective, along with the recounting of a conversation that was transformational for Kevin: a chat with Sara Westbrook, a speaker, writer and performer who specializes in resilience, confidence and mental well-being. It was during his conversation with Sara that Kevin was hit with a “lightning bolt” of inspiration (a “voice”) that ended up shaping much of how his life would change from that point on. What happened next is the subject of Kevin’s opening to this episode, as he examines the choices he’d made up to that point, and looked ahead to how he’d have to choose – and act – differently to get to that new place he was inspired to seek while talking with Sara.

How cool can kind be? And can compassion, community and caring be capitalized upon, not in a manipulative way but as a means of generating good with good?
It seems like this should be a simple question to answer, but the more I really dive into it, the more fascinatingly complex it becomes to me.
Can a for-profit business be built and thrive on kindness and compassion? Cindy Brett, a dynamic woman who has spearheaded a movement called "Kindnessology," is interested to find out.
Cindy is a life success consultant who has studied about the mind and the creative process throughout her career. She has learned there are exact laws in place which, if implemented, create unrivaled serenity and harmony throughout our lives. Cindy feels that it is her purpose to more deeply understand how it is that we create our own lives and how we can inspire others to do the same.
Cindy has studied with many great authors and teachers over the last dozen years, including Dr. Deepak Chopra, Dr. Wayne Dyer, Byron Katie, Carolyn Myss, Zig Ziglar, Mark Victor Hansen, Les Brown, Michael Losier, and Gary Zukav. She has been personally mentored and coached by Bob Proctor, Losier, and Paul Hutsey. Our common interest and attraction to Proctor became an interesting point for discussion.
Among the many incredible things that stood out from my conversation with Cindy were:
1. The privilege of awareness - I had yet to hear anyone describe awareness in quite this way, using the word "privilege." It felt completely appropriate as soon as Cindy mentioned it.
2. Pain as an agent of change - I asked Cindy what precipitated her transformation and she quickly answered with one word: Pain.
3. Stay with it - Cindy noted that what we focus on expands and I was probably turning a little bit red when she talked about how common it is for people who like to learn and grow to flit about from book to book to book and course to course to course, gobbling up information and forever searching for what they perceive to be the missing piece of their puzzle.
We did eventually steer back around to Kindnessology but I think you'll find this entire conversation completely enriching if you are in any way interested in mindset and manifestation.

The question today is: why would we care so much about what other people think of us, and how are we allowing that to limit us?
That’s a question that hits me right between the eyes that I have been grappling with on a daily basis the last couple of years, and it also confronted this episode’s guest, Susan Kovacs. It carried a lot of impact for her, especially because it came out of the mind and mouth of her daughter.
Known as the “Game Changer,” Susan Kovacs is a sought-after, straightforward coach to ambitious high performers. And her story so far is fascinating and empowering.
30 years after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and living those decades under the cloak of limitations suggested by both doctors and the disease, Susan competed in and completed her first triathlon. As you will hear, even deciding to try to do a triathlon, let alone completing one, was an enormous leap for her, both physically and spiritually.
Anyone who has ever doubted themselves for any reason is going to love this conversation.
Anyone who has ever listened to an outside influence, be it a parent or doctor or teacher or co-worker, and labelled themselves as unable to do something from that point forward will most definitely be able to relate to Susan.
I am completely confident that you will find her story incredibly uplifting.
There is a lot of great value to take away from Susan's story. Just some of the key elements that stood out to me included:
2. Hitting “delete” on the self-talk tape – This, yet again, is a perspective on the importance of awareness, choice and mindset.
3. Focus on the process - Susan mentioned, “We get caught up in the outcome.” But when you can focus on each step of the journey, it will pull you into the present and you will enjoy it all a whole lot more.

How much of you – the real you – and your story are you sharing? We’re going to get into that today with Michel Neray, an international speaker, co-author of “The Great Crossover” and founder of “MoMondays,” a monthly variety show that combines storytelling, comedy and live music and which, since its creation in 2012, has expanded to multiple cities across Canada and in the United States.
Michel helps people craft and perform more effective, “purposeful” stories to become more effective at what they do. He also uses Purposeful Storytelling to more effectively help organizations position and brand themselves in the marketplace.
But of course, this podcast is most about the story – the journey – of the guest. In this case, it’s Michel Neray, and I can tell you that it is a fascinating and thought-provoking story.
Some of the key things I took from my time with Michel Neray include:.

Tonia Adleta is an international speaker, the founder and host of the Single Parent Summit and the owner of multiple businesses, including an award-winning wedding and event planning and floral design company. She describes herself as a recovering perfectionist and single mom to the two most amazing kids ever.
Tonia and I are kindred spirits in many ways. One of the suggestions or principles that is often suggested that I simply have never been able to accept is the idea of just choosing one thing, picking one lane and staying there for the rest of your life. From a marketing and simplicity perspective, I admit I sometimes wish I were more like that. If I were to choose just one thing and be able to dedicate my whole life to it, I bet I could be world-class in that field. But I'm not wired that way. I'm too curious and too creative. I have things that I am more interested in developing than others, but I can never see myself doing just one thing.
Seeing that Tonia feels and lives the same way was a breath of fresh air. And I don't think either one of us is trying to suggest that's what you have to do as well, but especially in this digital age, it seems that we must be multifaceted in our emotional maturity skill set in order to navigate the tricky waters of relationships, friendships, work, health, parenting, recreation and so many other things.
So how do we do that? Well, part of the answer is addressed right off the start of the discussion with Tonia and it is one of a number of things that stood out to me from our conversation, including:
There's no such thing as work-life balance - There's just life. This was one of my favourite beginnings to any episode of this podcast so far. I thought I'd tossed Tonia a bit of a curveball and was interested to see what she do with it. I was fascinated when she didn't even swing at it. And I absolutely loved the way she answered the question. So rather than saying anything more about it here, I will let you listen to the episode to hear her response.
Mindfulness versus looking backward or forward - Tonia gives a terrific account of how you can tell if you are in one of two very common camps of people. The first is to evaluate if you are treating yourself like a victim, as if life always happens to you. This will sound familiar if you find that you are always looking backwards, rehashing things from the past, carrying ill feelings with you, recycling bad memories, and basically being unwilling to let go. The other camp has you looking forward. This one delays the thought of happiness until a certain result can be achieved. Of course, the tragedy is, with this operating system, you can never get the result that you want; you're focused on pleasing everyone but yourself and having to be perfect all the time. It's a road to nowhere.
Also listen for her story about being on the floor of the bathroom when she was living in a mobile home. I point that out because what you are about to hear is a dynamic, creative, successful woman of great character. I think it's really easy to look at somebody for where they are now and then assume they've never had those moments when life has brought them to their knees. If that's something you're going through now, know that it is not just you. It happened to me and it's happened to Tonia. You can get through it if you choose to and Tonia is going to give you some terrific examples of how to do that.

Melissa Schenk is the creator of MS2 Productions, a high impact video marketing agency. She also works as a speaker, author, producer and business consultant, among other things. She has a vast background in media that includes both radio and a long run as television weather anchor.
Melissa certainly knows the landscape of media and broadcasting first-hand. Her creative passions and entrepreneurial instincts have continued to drive her forward into creating new and exciting ways to communicate and to help empower others to do the same.
What you are about to hear is a really fun story of an energetic, kind and creative soul who has made an art out of trusting her intuition to explore the next idea and to be constantly focused on the possibility of what could go right as opposed to worrying about what might go wrong.
Some of the key things I took from my time with Melissa include:
1. Doing what can't be done - Melissa tells a great story about a camp that she created for kids in her days and radio. She had a vision and an idea that she believed in but did not have an existing model that she could point to in order to get other people to understand what she was getting at. So she created it and she gives some examples in our conversation of what happened as a result.
3. Remember, it's what I can do for you and not the other way around - This comes up near the end when she tells the story about how she landed inside the top 10 of a competition of more than 35,000 entries for tourism Queensland’s “Best job in the world” competition. 95% of people took the tactic to say why they would be the best and why this organization should give them the job. Melissa took a different approach and it is a fine example of one of the obvious things that any marketer can do to differentiate themselves, understand that it's not about them. It's about the customer. This sounds like a very simple philosophy, but it's one that just about all of us, myself included, get wrong on a consistent basis. When we are talking about features and benefits and all of the things that make us great, we are not necessarily offering what that can do for the people that were trying to help. It's really not about us. It's about them, and Melissa's story drives that point home nicely.

A self-described “student of transformation,” Andre Radmall is a registered psychotherapist (UKCP, BUPA) and life coach based in London England with over twenty years experience working for the Priory Hospital, London School of Theology and in private practice. Andre is also an international speaker and trainer who combines his drama and therapy experience to offer a unique approach to business coaching (he gives us some terrific examples of this during our discussion). Andre is the author of the books “Insight Into Addiction” and “Holistic Health”
Andre has a unique approach that has grown out of more than twenty years of helping people change. Over the years, he realized that one big reason for people getting stuck in habits of addiction, stress or eating disorders was the way they saw themselves. He came to see that people are much more likely to fall into stress, addiction or a bad relationship when they don’t know who they are. When people start to see themselves more clearly they start to change the story about who they are and what they can do. This is a change that transforms people emotionally, behaviourally, cognitively and spiritually. I have come to describe this change as “rewriting the book of our lives.”
My imagination came alive as I spoke to Andre. His way of using theatre to help people step both out of – and into – themselves is inspired.
Some of the key things I took from my time with Andre included:

Known as the “Why Guy” and Canada’s Creative Coach, Gerry Visca exists to inspire people and their ideas to action. His current mission is to inspire One Million Whys, all around the world.
As one of Canada's top Inspirational Speakers, a 16-time author and publisher of Defyeneurs, Gerry's on a mission to inspire a new ROI in the World – one where we all Reach Out & Inspire others.
At the time of our conversation, Gerry has two new books just about to be released. One of them is called “Influence,” and it celebrates 11 autobiographies of Women Inspiring Change. The intention of the book is to inspire 11,000 people in the world to become someone of influence.
The other, very near and dear to Gerry’s heart, is a novel called "Remembering Why.” As the first novel in his 16-book repertoire, the intention of “Remembering Why” is to take the reader on a wondrous journey of remembering why they exist. The characters are full of life and each one is on their own journey of discovering what matters most. We all knew “why” as a child but somewhere along the way, we forgot who we truly are. 500 first-edition copies of “Remembering Why” will be released in July 2017.
Some of the key points I took from my time with Gerry include:
Finding Your “Why” Is Not Linear - His discussion points about discovering your “why” not being a linear process really made me think about my own journey to “why,” my eventual reconnection to my inner child and where and when the different sparks of inspiration arrived.
Quantum Creation – I can only imagine how often Gerry gets asked something like, “How do you do all of this?” I get asked it a lot, so I can only imagine what it’s like for Gerry. He gives us some great insight into it how he creates and does all that he does.
Passion + Purpose = Outcome – If you spend any time at all around Gerry or absorbing his work, you’ll come across that formula of his. It may sound fundamental, but do you even know what you are passionate about? You may not. At a deeper level, you do. But on the surface? That may take some work. As Gerry said, “Most people are unaware that they are even unaware.”

Since the late 1970’s Jim Gilbert has been earning & growing a reputation as “Canada’s Huggable Car Dealer.” Along with his wife Dawna, Jim has built a family-run business that is a shining example of what it means to never be afraid of standing in your own truth and believing in the magic of possibilities.
If you were to visit Jim Gilbert’s Wheels And Deals in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, you’d find a business – and, indeed, a business that sells pre-owned vehicles … used cars – that is a reflection of the values and the enormous hearts of the people who created and nurture it. Sitting on what they call “six acres of fabulous,” Jim Gilbert’s Wheels and Deals is much, much more than a vehicle dealership. It’s a destination. It’s CANADA’s Huggable Car Dealer.
Of course, the irony here is that the magic sauce is not in some catchy slogan, marketing gimmick or promotional trick. It’s all in the consistent implementation of ageless principles of kindness, appreciation and integrity.
Here are a few of the key things I took from my time with Jim:
Working Weekends & Learning From the Customer – Listen for how Jim got his initial opportunities, and what he did to sell more boats than anyone else at the time.
Shoot the Gun, Ride the Bullet – Jim’s become a master at “riding the bullet.” He’s learned to trust his intuition, take action, and figure it out as he goes.
He Did What Everybody Else Did … Until He Didn’t – How he was “stuck” in the same rut as everyone else until he saw someone different he could model … and eventually surpass. He did this with his personal growth, too (listen for the Zig Ziglar tape story). This can only come from the curiosity of a growth mindset.

Angela Kontgen is a meditation coach and creator who helps people live life at new levels. After a decade of coaching people in all aspects of life and leadership, these days she focuses on one thing: meditation. There are a number of reasons why, and she goes over those in our conversation
I love how Angela describes herself as being able to help people shift from “survival to creation mode” and to begin using the power of their mind to become the creators of whatever it is they wish to experience and become.
If you have ever questioned the path that you were on and wondered if there's something more, you're going to want to listen through this entire conversation.
If you are in a job that does not align with you and your values and you're not sure what to do about that, you're going to want to listen through this entire conversation.
If you've ever arrived to the point in your life, whether it be in a relationship or a career situation or with a certain habit and think, “I just can't do this anymore,” make sure to listen to this episode. You are going to want to hear what Angela has to share, especially throughout the second half of this conversation.
Some of the key takeaways I took from Angela included:

Amanda Weber is affectionately known as a Happiness Coach and recovering people-pleaser. She helps people discover their happiest, healthiest and most successful version of themselves amid the often chaotic nature of life. Through one-on-one coaching, group workshops and speaking, and through her blog and podcast called “The Full Life,” Amanda helps bring clarity, perspective and what she calls the full life to those with whom she interacts.
Amanda knows from experience what it's like to arrive at a certain point in your life stressed out, unhappy, and waking up at three in the morning feeling like there must be something more to life. An inherent people-pleaser, Amanda had to embark upon a journey of self-discovery, which she sometimes had to do against her initial instincts, in order to find peace of mind and joy for herself. She tells that story with remarkable clarity and honesty in this conversation.
Some of the key points I took from my time with Amanda include:
Take Care of Yourself So You Can Take Care Of Others – Listen for her story of how she recognized that, by depleting herself, it was affecting her kids, and how she describes her “3 a.m. promise” to stop being reactive them.
Life Gets Away – This happens to a lot of us without us realizing it. It certainly happened to me. If you don’t stop to consider where you’re going and why, life will carry you along on its own … and it won’t always take you to where you’d like to go.
As Amanda says, “I think life kind of got away on me … I got that first job, and it led to the second, and it led to the third, and the more that I people-pleased and got stuff done, the more the next-best opportunity would come. And so I think life kind of took me somewhere versus me deciding where I would go, and I’m not sure it lines up at all with that little person that I started out as.” Sound familiar? Yeah, it does for me, too.

Carl Good is the co-founder of Good Family Matters, a mediation center based here in London, Ontario that teaches and encourages positive methods mediation (PMM) where they reframe conflict into an opportunity to create a best-case working partnership.
Just as I have been, Carl has been through a separation and divorce. He’s come out of it passionate about wanting to help people, not just to move through that very difficult time of their lives in as proactive a manner as possible, but to coach and equip them with the skills that will enhance their lives and the lives of their children going forward.
I have spent some time with Carl over the last many months and I can tell you that he is absolutely sincere, kind, creative and compassionate individual. He really and truly wants to help.
Here are some key takeaways I took for my time with Carl Good:
Negative Becoming Normal and Your Environment Changing Who You Are – When Carl’s divorce court proceedings were over and he was ready to move on, he thought he should have been happy but he wasn't. Negative had become normal and he didn't know what to do next. He also gives a great account of what was happening in his police career and he realized he was becoming more negative and cynical and that it was wearing on him. He noted that he was living in fear and he didn't like what that was doing to him, that it was “changing who he was.” Have a listen to see what he did about it.
Finding Common Ground - He said it took about four years but after all of that negativity there was there was a time when he and his former wife came together over an issue involving the school that their child was attending. This brought them together he shares a story about it that I found extremely touching. There is an incredible power in common ground, especially when you realize that you're in it together and are really willing to put the children first.
Check Your Ego - For the sake of yourself and your future, and your children (if you have them) and their future … when the waters get rough, take as many deep breaths as you need to. Check your ego. Make good decisions. If you listen to nothing else from this episode, listen to about the last 15 minutes where Carl gets into detail about the process of separation and divorce and gives an example of what’s likely to happen if you take it to the courts.

Laurie Hawkins is a certified business coach, success strategist, speaker, facilitator and founder of Hawk Inspired. She inspires business leaders and teams toward peak performance and achievement, and has walked an interesting path – both personally and professionally – to get to where she is today and I think you’re going to find the story really interesting.
Laurie knows her stuff. She's had some terrific mentors from a very young age, and has been able to repeatedly tune into her inner wisdom to navigate along the journey, which have included some big up and downs both at work and at home.
Some of the key takeaways I took from my time with Laurie included:
Guiding vs Telling – Laurie gives some great accounts of her father guiding and mentoring her versus just "telling" her what to do or not do. It's a huge difference! Have a listen for that.
Service & Authenticity – The more of these podcasts I do, the more I am convinced that these are two essential elements for success in life in any form: contribution and being true to yourself. What a potent combination, and it's right there waiting for every single one of us to embrace and employ.
Human Connection – From sales techniques to the priorities of people in other parts of the world to the coming and going of technological trends, we discussed it all and agreed on one thing that applies for it all: human connection. And for a great way to initiate those connection, see the other two key takeaways, listed above.
Steve Zanella helps people learn to overcome anxiety, stress & fear with meditation, mindfulness and love. As he says, “he’s just sharing his story.”
Right from childhood, Steve struggled with anxiety. As he grew older, it only got worse, and showed itself in new and more challenging forms like panic attacks and social withdrawal. Eventually, he began to self-medicate with alcohol and found himself in a very dark place. In this conversation,
Steve openly discusses the challenges he faced for much of his life. But he also shares an open and honest account of what he did – and is doing – to reclaim his well-being and to live a life free of anxiety. He is living proof that it is possible, and it’s part of his mission to help as many people as he can by authentically sharing his experiences from this point on.

He has been recognized with several Leadership and Appreciation Awards for his work, including a President's Citation and the prestigious Service Above Self award, among many others. Most recently he was recognized as a distinguished Canadian with a special Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Medal. Doug is often called Rotary's "Roving Ambassador."
Eustan Matthews is a Business Coach, Consultant & Speaker who helps busy entrepreneurs and business owners avoid or escape what he calls “The Freedom Quandary.”
Like anyone else, Eustan’s story is not without its challenges. Being moved from his home country of Trinidad at an early age left him with feelings and questions he’s had to carry with him since. And, like most of us, his journey has taken twists and turns and has provided opportunities for him to re-examine his path and what he can be doing to best represent his authentic self on a day-to-day basis.
Cornell Thomas describes himself as a father, husband, son, speaker, coach, motivator, world changer, free thinker, lion, doer, giver, and active dreamer. His mission in life is to serve others and make this world a better place. He’s doing a heckuva job so far.
Originally, Cornell thought his purpose in life was to play professional basketball. And in 2003, he received a contract to play pro ball in Portugal. It was the realization of a dream he'd held since he discovered the sport at 16 years of age. And then it all fell apart. Little did he realize at the time that the setback would help him find & embrace his true purpose in life.
Katie Kozlowski is a spiritual teacher, self realization coach and healer. Katie’s is a remarkable story about how so many of us start out so happy and free, how it easy it is to get lost, and the consequences of the unconscious cruelty we inflict on ourselves and others when we’re not in touch with who we really are.
Martin Reid is the creator of “Personal Victory," a fitness consulting company developed to help people determine and reach their fitness goals. He is also an Education Specialist at Life Time Athletic. On social media, he calls himself a "Tabata & Pilates Guy!"
This conversation was very much about relationship, reinvention and self-realization. Like me, Martin thought he had it all figured out and, at least initially, couldn't understand when things started to fall apart at home. As you'll hear, he's gone (going) through a personal transformation that is empowering observe.
Dr. Carlen Costa is one of Canada’s most sought-after Sexologist & Relationship Experts. She believes everyone is capable of achieving deep and meaningful intimate relationships; sometimes we just need inspiration to grow them. Carlen is a dynamic, cheerful soul who clearly loves what she does and has been through quite the journey of self exploration and actualization to become that way. And that is, for the most part, what we discussed in this episode.
Kevin asks what's a tougher challenge: getting started with something new, or moving through the middle part where it seems to be natural to be tempted to retreat back to "safety" and wonder if you're ever going to get to your goal. ©2017 Kevin Bulmer Enterprises
Jason MacKenzie, an author, speaker & coach who teaches people how to find the courage to create new and deeper relationships with people, including their kids. And if they want to use those relationships to power personal and professional growth, he shows them how to do that too.
Jason is a survivor of his first wife’s battle with bipolar disorder and subsequent suicide. He’s also overcome a decade-long battle with alcohol and eventually stopped running from grief and fear, which allowed him to become the husband and father he is today.
After creating a website called "The Book of Open" to share his own gratitude journals, his efforts soon evolved into one of encouraging and empowering others to share their stories through his site. As Jason went on curating and connecting the experiences of others, the project caught the attention of Hogan Hilling, who approached him about writing a book. That turned into “The Dadly Book of Open: How Cultivating Vulnerability Makes You a Stronger, Wiser & More Courageous Father.”
Sometimes, life is trying to tell you, “Hey. There’s something here that needs your attention. Slow down. Rest for a while.” I have learned the hard way that life sometimes calls “time out” for good reason. If you ignore those calls, you do so at your own peril.
My question with this episode is: how do you recognize when it’s time for a personal “time out,” and what do you do about it? How are you able to distinguish it from an everyday excuse born of fatigue or routine (we all have things we don’t feel like doing but we go through with it anyway).
NASCAR Fans will recognize Cole Pearn as the Crew Chief for the Furniture Row Racing Team and driver, Martin Truex Jr. Cole’s story is a terrific example of knowing yourself, trusting your gut and going with what feels right to you.
I first got to know Cole when he was just a teenager racing not only at Delaware Speedway (in Ontario, Canada), but also in what used to be called the CASCAR Super Series (which later became the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, now known as the NASCAR Pinty’s Series). He was regarded as one of the true up-and-coming talents in Canadian stock car racing at the time.
Cole continued to race through the balance of his high school days and into and through his time at University. Eventually, his heart told him to pack up and move to North Carolina to somehow find his way in the door of a NASCAR team. And that’s exactly what he did, finding an entry-level spot at Richard Childress Racing and working his way up from there.
Derek Botten is a voice-over artist and voice actor who brings to life a wide variety of commercials, videos, voice characterizations, audio books and much more. To each project, he brings authenticity, sincerity and a kind and compassionate spirit.
A well-known radio broadcasting talent in Southwestern Ontario, Canada, Derek’s career also includes a 10-year stretch as creator and producer of the “World of Motorcycles Expo” trade show and a variety of other pursuits such as motorcycle trainer and as an announcer at various motorsports events, among other things.
Allison Graham is a business growth consultant, speaker, and best-selling author of “Married My Mom, Birthed a Dog: How To Be Resilient When Life Sucks.” Our discussion came just about at the time of the creative culmination of the book, keynote speaking and related business launch that she had first conceived of more than a half-decade ago.
Though Allison has achieved and enjoyed a significant level of success helping businesses and business people become more effective with their sales and networking, as you will hear, she has long had a passion for wanting to contribute to the personal development field in an effort to be a help to others.
When I first heard about a guy who invites musicians into his car so that he can conduct a quick interview, have them perform a song, and then create a video episode of each encounter, I was immediately intrigued. I also had a lot of questions about how he got the idea and how he was making it happen.
Jeff Boudreau is the creator and host of the fabulously creative web video series, “Jeff’s Musical Car.” Based in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, Jeff has produced over 250 episodes at the time we recorded this podcast, ranging from local artists from the Moncton music scene all the way to Internationally renowned talents such guitarist, Jesse Cook. Jeff has chauffeured a few of the musicians that easily fall into my top ten of any list of my favourite music, including Colin & John-Angus MacDonald from The Trews, David Francey and The Fortunate Ones, though I’ve yet to see an episode where I wasn’t impressed by the musicianship of Jeff’s companion for that particular video.
What does a NASCAR-style pit crew changing tires have to do with high-performing business culture? Quite a lot, as it turns out, and Bob Parker is the man who puts people – quite literally – into the action to discover that for themselves.
Bob is a Speaker, Experience leader, Management Consultant & Facilitator and Author of “The Pit Crew Challenge: Winning Customers Through Teaming.” The “Pit Crew Challenge” also serves as the name of Bob’s benchmark program for the last many years, a metaphorical learning experience that builds high-performing cultures leading to greater efficiencies. He does this by bringing an actual late model (NASCAR-style) race car to people.
Kevin reflects on the process that led to beginning the podcast and how it’s evolved in the first year. He talks about some of the people he’s met, what he’s learned, what some of the “aha” moments were that have shaped the evolution of both the podcast and Kevin’s personal and professional journey, and he shares what it all could mean to help you in getting started with something you’ve been thinking of doing for yourself.
Jim Cressman is a professional baseball umpire and retired sportswriter. He still umpires and has been doing so for over 50 years. I know Jim best as a sportswriter. For decades, Jim covered sports for the London Free Press, the daily paper in the city where we live. He was responsible for all kinds of topics, including the old London Tigers baseball team we had here for a time (an Eastern League AA affiliate of the Detroit Tigers), the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League, all kinds of major league sporting events, and even auto racing coverage out at the stock car track near here called Delaware Speedway, where I worked in various capacities for about a decade and where I got to know Jim best.
Listening to Jim talk about how they used to get stories written and submitted is a whole lot of fun. If you have any interest at all in news media, journalism or reporting, you’ll love it. Umpiring, on the other hand, took Jim to the Olympics and other international events, as well as through baseball’s minor leagues. Had work visas been more readily available, Jim may never have been a sportswriter to begin with, as it’s likely he would have ended up as an umpire in the major leagues.
Sometimes a book comes along with exactly what you need to hear precisely when you need to hear it. Every now and then, the contents of such a book can become a permanent part of your journey, personality, and thought process from that point forward.
With that in mind, I decided to do a podcast on five books that have had that effect on me and to share my personal stories of why they’ve meant so much. My hope is that it will eventually help someone else, and possibly even save them from some of the personal challenges I've been through.
Jennifer Farmer is an intuitive, medium and spiritual teacher whose greatest passion is empowering you to embrace joy and inner peace through the deep healing of spiritual readings, teachings and guided meditations. I first learned of her work a couple of years ago by way of one of her guided meditation videos on YouTube.
Amidst my early exploration of a higher level of awareness and at the time I was first dipping my toes into the pool of an initial practice of meditation, I somehow found Jennifer voice, approach, and energy rather soothing and appealing. I have been a fan of her work ever since and am truly grateful that I got the chance to connect with her for this conversation.

Too often, we give fuel to further chaos by how we choose to react to the inevitable in the present. In this episode, Kevin shares some practical tips on how to keep calm, like the art of responding vs. reacting, the difference between the two and why it's so important. He quickly explores meditation and how that helps, goes over the "10-10-10 rule" and a few other things. He also shares a story from his Delaware Speedway management days as an example of how today's chaos can become tomorrow's stories.
In his first "solo" podcast episode, Kevin asks: What is Greatness? Are the ideas of Greatness, Success and Balance things to which we should aspire? Is there one model to point to that illustrates what they look like?

Winnie Anderson had me at "Corporate Escapee." That term alone was enough for me to want to learn all from her that I could. Little did I realize, at least at first, how deeply rewarding my time with her would be, rendering the definition of that enticing term well down the list of things I find most interesting about this dynamic person.
