Today I'm bringing to you an unedited continuation of a PODtober conversation that just couldn't quit.
Darcee was our guest from PODtober 27 and we had so much to say and connect about that it couldn't fit in the mini-episode, so here are the rest of the goodies from that conversation.
We jump right into it, talking about how great PODtober has been, and while it is not necessarily required to follow along , I do suggest you go start with PODtober 27 - or PODtober 1 ;) - to get the full picture.

Kevin Edworthy, professionally known as KVNE, was born in Hamilton, Ontario. Aside from being an upcoming urban artist, he is an executive producer, and founding partner of independent label, Killakartel Music.
Writing inspired by life experiences, accompanied by his catchy R&B and Pop melodies, rumbling 808 trap percussion, KVNE undoubtedly demonstrates his versatility. With musical influences such as Tory Lanez, Post Malone, and Blackbear, his sound is catered to audiences across the board. KVNE plans for a set of releases, which will not only demonstrate his signature R&B crossover and urban pop sound, but also will venture into sounds of edm, rock, and rap.

Guest: Tom Harman (he/him) | @home.by.nine
By age 40, about 50% of the population will have or have had a mental illness.
Tom is one of those people and he has Panic Disorder.
His own father took antidepressants most of his life. Tom didn't know this until he had his first panic attack at 28 years old. Like most men, he was hesitant to see any kind of doctor.
He rarely spoke about his experience with depression, but this also didn't limit him from being an incredible father. He had a loving personality, and was very much a home body. As Tom gracefully enters his 30's, the allure of nighttime social gatherings is fading, and like his father, he has an increasing desire to always make sure he's Home By Nine.
Cost shouldn't have to be a barrier between you and your mental health. Home By Nine takes $1 from every item sold to provide subsidized therapy to give you and everyone else a chance to have 100% of the beneifts at 15% of the cost.

Mandy is a seasoned Fitness Instructor, specializing in creating challenging and accessible programs to suit multiple needs and abilities. Having taught fitness and yoga for both adults and kids, Mandy is ready to be an inclusive and welcoming voice of encouragement. Her goal has always been to take the fear out of fitness, and bring back the fun of getting out, moving your body and becoming a better you.
A long time educator, teaching at the college level, Mandy brings her wry sense of humour to every interaction and never shies away from speaking her mind. She is passionate about wellness, and helping people find consistency in their lives. While she advocates for optimum health, she also makes things relatable... and has never met a cheeseburger she didn't like. It's all about balance.
A proud Mother of her 10 year old daughter, Mandy understands the trials and tribulations of single parenthood, and is here to be a reassuring (and realistic) voice.

Passionate about helping others grow, her day job is to support students in developing their leadership skills. Darcee has obtained two Bachelor's Degree's and a Master' Degree, and loves to take on any learning opportunity that presents itself.
In her spare time, Darcee rehabilitates sick and unwell dogs, gets outside for at least an hour a day, and loves drinking good beer with even better friends.

Ever since she was young, it was people who drove her to create, whether that through writing, photography, or simple conversation. Depth, connection, and passion are what inspire her to take photos, and capture people in their most vulnerable and sometimes insecure states, and she prides herself in being able to transform those moments into feelings of empowerment, strength, and liberty in both her clients and her friends. Crystal has been practicing professional makeup and hair since the age of 15. By the age of 18, Crystal began Drag makeup for the first time, and went on to win multiple titles. After putting Drag aside for a bit, she has come back stronger and better than ever. Before COVID-19 struck, Crystal worked as a bottle service manager, but since losing their job due to the pandemic, they have now committed to their passion of Drag, beginning their enterprise Crystal Quartz Events, including their shows Hitz, Characterz, and XXX BINGO. Prior to, and during the pandemic, they have also been the lead host for Drag BINGO, raising money and awareness for the HIV/AIDS Resources and Community Health of Guelph.
At the start of 2021, a friend recommended they share their videos and messaging on TikTok, where they now have over 211,000 followers. Crystal has been taken back from the recent fame but wants to continue spreading their messaging to a much larger community, "Everybody is beautiful".

Meagan is a 25 year old living in Toronto, Canada. Obsessed with the colour light pink, reality TV, making those around her smile, and the occasional fresh doughnut, Meagan strives to find joy in the little things - because they quickly add up!
Sister, Aunt, Friend, Support, Creator - whatever her role, Meagan aims to be a positive presence for those around her. In 2021, Meagan shifted to working completely online and has no plans to look back! She plans to travel full-time while continuing to share her self-love, body acceptance, and inner healing journey with those who need it most.

Guest: Meagan (she/her)
Meagan grew up in Kitchener-Waterloo, then headed off to the University of Ottawa for an Honours BA in Psychology with a minor in criminology. After graduating in 2019, she realized that a lot of the jobs available in KW were often research based which she was not interested in. However, some of the job postings she was interested in required a Registered Early Childhood Education (RECE) qualification. So, she decided to go back to school for a fast-track ECE program at Conestoga College.
Meagan really enjoys being in nature, listening to good music, being creative, and socializing with family and friends. She also enjoys learning about social justice issues, including anti-racism, 2SLGBTQ+, climate change, indigenous history, and cultures, among other topics. She also spends time exploring herself, personality types, attachment styles, emotional intelligence, insecurities and how they manifest, self-love, and all that comes with personal development. Basically, she's just a person trying to do better for herself and the next generation.

Guest: Brooke North (she/her)
Brooke is a recent college graduate now working full-time as a Volunteer Coordinator at a Therapeutic Riding Centre. Her passion and need for working in a rewarding job led her to taking the Recreation and Leisure program, which in turn led to her current career.
Outside of work, Brooke is using her time to learn how to be a "real" adult now with adult responsibilities. As well, she spends her time discovering self-love and grinding it out in the gym to keep up her rugby physique.
Fuelled by living a life of re-finding the joy lost in childhood, each day she strives to love herself just a little bit more.

A veteran motivational speaker, and the Founder of Pep Talk, Ian Tyson lives and breathes positivity. Starting with gratitude and leading with intention, Ian strives to help everyone find their "Silver Lining" no matter how dark the cloud may be. For more than 30 years, Ian has been entertaining and inspiring audiences around the world to realize their potential and seek happiness in their lives.
He combines hilarious and heartfelt story telling, with observational humour and meaningful life lessons to leave people with thoughts and words to live by. By speaking in a relatable way about even the most painful of life experiences, Ian connects on a deep level with those he listens to. His background in student leadership, theatre and stand up comedy make him a quick improviser and a wellspring of energy.
Over the course of his career, he has spoken to countless conferences, companies, and educational institutions. A TEDx presenter, author, podcast host, award winning speaker and comic, Ian brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to his work. Having had the pleasure of performing in front of millions of people over the course of his career, Ian's focus remains the connections he can make with individuals either in an audience, or through a screen.
Ian's book "Hooray for Everything! The Optimist Manifesto" was self-published in 2013 and has been sold to audiences across the globe and it has been used in classrooms and boardrooms alike. A collection of stories, rants, tips and tricks; the book focuses on how to find and keep a positive attitude and what it can do to change the course of your life.
An avid home cook, Ian appeared on Season 1 of The Food Network Canada show, "Wall of Chefs." Early in the 2020 pandemic, he created his own online cooking show called "The Confined Kitchen." He continues to follow that passion and combine it with his speaking and performance career with "cooking keynotes," live cooking events and corporate recipe videos. He also speaks fluent "nerd" and will wave that flag proudly!

Madison works full-time in a law enforcement job, with previous experience in a social work setting providing assistance to those moving through the criminal justice system. She is super passionate about restorative justice and has fostered that from her education, a Bachelors Degree in Community and Criminal Justice.
In her spare time, Madison is usually doing art, which she then turned into a side business, Moments by Madison. Her business is digital and hand drawn prints and portraits that evoke and empower femininity and individuality. She also writes poetry and a dream of hers is to have some of her work published.
She likes to live a healthy lifestyle, both mentally and physically, and she has a passion for fitness which she found when she formerly competed in a bodybuilding competition. Overall, she is a socially awkward - her words, not mine - but sassy person who has a lot of love and empathy for others.

Hayley is the host and creator of this very podcast - but for this episode, she's in the hot seat.
Outside of The Reveller, Hayley loves to travel, explore abandoned places, rock climb, and dance like nobody's watching - even if they are. Her favourite thing to wear is her heart on her sleeve, paired with red curls and a bold lip. From 9-5 she's an Event Coordinator and absolutely thrives in the fast-pace and troubleshooting of event day. While you'll usually get to know her goofy side first, Hayley is an emotional connector and strives to get past the small talk. And lastly - she's a YES! type o' woman. She'll try everything at least once, and is always ready to 'do it for the story'.
