WE ARE BACK! Apologies for being so tardy and MIA over the last few months. Scheduling and technical problems have held us back, but we know you don't want to hear excuses from us. You want what we want which is to get back in the lab.

Back in the lab, we've decided to cover a topic that is not near and dear to many, but that many find in their way of achieving all that they want to achieve. Fear. Fear can utterly stonewall anyone. Thankfully, we've got you covered with ways you can overcome fear or shall we say "Forge Through Fear". Tim Ferriss has a lot of really good information below on overcoming fear that is both discussed in the show and linked below for your own gander. Yes, what ever fear ails you. Listen to this episode of the Motivation Lab podcast to learn more.

Yes.... yes, we did procrastinate in making this podcast, but we are determined to change our procrastinating ways and we hope you are too. Well, if that is the case, then you are in luck and in exactly the right place to get all the information you need on why and how to change that.

In episode 6, we discuss what procrastination is. Joey breaks down the perceived benefits of procrastination right before he smashes those perceived benefits into smithereens by debunking said myths. John discusses Tim Urban's viral Ted Talk on procrastination.

Spoiler alert: Don't do what Tim did....

Joey then poses the question of why do people in society procrastinate despite it being so bad and breaks that down. Question now for you... Did you know there are two types of procrastination? Even if you did, I bet you don't know a whole lot about them. Thankfully, Joey has ya covered.

So, now you know about procrastination and why it's bad. In fact, you're probably curious how you can drop procrastination. Well, John discusses a Mel Robbins video that begins to answer that very question, but first frames it as a habit. Mel Robbins isn't the only one who has a method you can use to quit procrastinating. Comedy icon Jerry Seinfeld even has a pretty popular one and it's pretty, pretty good.

Finally, if you're still reading this and you haven't listened to the podcast yet.... I've left you on a lot of cliffhangers about how you can defeat such procrastination, so ironically you'll have to listen to the episode to know how to break such a habit.

Or you can just hit the play button and then come back and check out all the cool articles and videos we have linked below.

We are back on the every other week schedule. Apologies for the inconvenience. In this episode, we discuss the popular phrase "rent is due" which has become a tagline for Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and even quoted by elite NFL defensive end J.J. Watt. It really is much more than just a reminder your landlord gives you. It's a reminder for yourself. Rent is due on schedule. It requires consistency. It requires a plan. It requires work and discipline.

It's been three weeks since the last episode because our schedules got thrown off because of the Fourth of July, but we are back to talk about "your why?". Why? Because it's important in life to know why you do something or why you want to do something. To know your why you have to start by asking "WHO you are?". So, take a few minutes and write down what your passions are and what you're potentially interested in doing with your life. Once you find some things you like, work to identify WHY you like them and WHY you want that to be apart of your life.

The first topic for this show is discipline. We call it "The Art of Discipline" because discipline is an art with a million different ways you can paint the picture. While there are "life hacks" to living a more disciplined life, it is something that ultimately must come from within. It's a muscle one must train. However, there are steps one can take to set yourself up for success with discipline. We also talk about what ego depletion is and the dangers it presents us. Don't worry. We tell you some ways you can avoid it. Finally, don't forget "discipline equals freedom". Get disciplined. Stay disciplined.
