This week we’re joined by The Trip, a DJ and production project by Max van Dijk and Oliver Hiam. The duo are the founders of the long-established party and label Tessellate. After a decade of hosting events and DJing at Corsica Studios, the duo began releasing music under the name “The Trip” in 2020.

Their sound is shaped by watching some of their favourite DJs perform at Tessellate. Sonically, they draw on UKG, progressive, tech house, and house elements from the ’90s onward, weaving these influences into a distinctive, sample-heavy style.

Now seven records deep in original material, The Trip continues to gain momentum, having released Fantasy Traxx and Uncovered in 2024. Their music has become a staple for a broad range of DJs including Palms Trax, Moxie, Avalon Emerson, Shanti Celeste, Sally C, Eliza Rose, and Pangea. They have also received significant airtime on BBC Radio 1, with Sarah Story dubbing The Trip the “DJ’s Producer”.

Off the back of their sell out All Night Long show in London at the end of 2024, the future promises an exciting mix of original and collaborative releases, alongside an increasingly busy local and international calendar.

We’ve just got back from Ibiza and released our new EP Clubdance2025.

The mix was recorded at home on CDJs, then tidied it up in Ableton and it reflects what we’re enjoying musically at the moment.

It’s club ready but hopefully translates for home listening. It features a load of edits and reworks we’ve put together especially for this mix, as well as an unreleased track from ourselves.

This week, we welcome international DJ, music producer and curator Sarah Farina. She hosts and curates the interdisciplinary Berlin event series Emergent Bass, which focuses on the historical awareness of cultural contexts of music and celebrates and uplifts the Afro-diasporic influences in underground club culture. She’s innovative, she’s skilful, and she’s the smiling antithesis of genre cliques and sour scene elitists and sprinkles positivity over the darkest bass. What you hear is all you need to know. And what you’ll hear from Sarah Farina’s sets and music productions are seamlessly blended bass-heavy frequencies and futuristic beats with fearless forays through the hardcore continuum and beyond. It’s inclusive, forward-thinking and unrestrained. It’s a genre-rejecting style that she’s named Rainbow Bass. She’s vocal about the issues of current club culture and runs the project „Transmission“ with researcher Dr. Kerstin Meißner, which aims to make the political relevance and history of international sound, club and rave culture audible and visible.

I got to play some really lovely gigs this summer including shows in Amsterdam, at Montreux Jazz Festival, and a free, early evening event at the Berlin museum Hamburger Bahnhof. Each one was special in its own way, and the Berlin night stood out because the concept was one DJ for the whole evening. Since it was free and started at 7pm, it brought together a very diverse crowd – especially in terms of age, which I really love and is kind of rare to see, at least here. I really hope we’ll see more free, early, and generally more accessible, intergenerational and diverse events in the city.

I also spent some time in NYC, where I was spoiled with so much good, uplifting music, food and the sweetest people! And I recently hosted a remixing/editing workshop for Radio Refuge Worldwide in Berlin, which was so much fun. I learned a ton myself and hope to do more teaching in the future – it feels so nice to explore music outside of club culture, and to be in community, sharing and exchanging.

On the gear side: I just got a TR-8S drum machine and I’m learning to produce with it! Right now I’m focused on creating new music and developing material for a new EP.

Oh, and my remix of Josi Miller’s track “You Have A Drug Problem” has just been released!

It’s a rainbow bass mix – my way of describing a colourful spectrum of sounds connected by bass, always shifting and full of energy. I’m hoping it makes people feel good, energised and want to dance!

Fall Forward, the long-time resident of the UK’s much-loved and prolific promoters Bugged Out! is moving steadily into a production career that spans releases on Dusky’s 21 Steps and remixes for Groove Armada and Todd Edwards. His new EP ‘Memory Phase’ sees Fall Forward distill their bright, party-ready style into their most detailed, sophisticated productions yet and thoroughly tested and perfected on some of the London’s greatest sound systems, alongside The Chemical Brothers, Hot Chip, and Orbital.

This mix was recorded in my flat in South East London – one take, some loops and an attempt to tame some live drums. To paraphrase a much missed North Star, the idea was to sequence some records together without the joins being too apparent.

Belfast based DJ Conor Schmtz got his first major break securing a residency at Shine events at QUBSU in 2011 as one half of duo Schmutz, where he developed a reputation for his energetic style of diverse DJing. Schmutz originally began as an intimate club night, inviting DJs like Midland, Brawther, Krystal Klear, Hunee and John Talabot to small venues across the city. After releases on labels like Omnidisc, 4 Lux, Dirt Crew, ME ME ME it wasn’t long before Schmutz were appearing at clubs all around the UK and Europe.

Conor himself is currently resident at Ulster Sports Club where he appears monthly for a 5 + hour set covering multiple styles and sounds. Conor proudly holds a significant place at the forefront of cutting-edge electronic music culture and left of centre parties in Ireland, something he has done for over 15 years.

I’ve been busy DJ’ing around Ireland and running my own ‘Invites’ parties – a series of nights where I invite artists that I look up to or who have inspired me. So far I’ve had Rolando, Radio Slave and ND Baumecker come play with me alongside some local selectors that I admire. Before this I was involved in running monthly club nights at USC, bringing international guests to a ridiculously intimate space. I’ve also been doing pop up events in underused venues around Belfast with TNI (Timmy Stewart and Jordan Nocturne). Most recently I’ve started a collaboration Marion Hawkes which we have both really been enjoying and our ‘After Hours’ parties have been growing nicely. We’ve invited Jaye Ward, Prosumer and Apiento to join us in the last 6 months alone.

This mix was recorded in a small studio in Banana Block in East Belfast called ‘Spinners Mill’. It was done on 2 x cdjs + 2 x Technics whilst nursing a crippling hangover. I often find it hard to decide on records to include in pre-recorded mixes so this one is pure spur of the moment.

When I set out to do this I intended on doing a long mix with a slower build up (which I usually enjoy more), however when I pressed record I thought fck it, ‘straight to the point’ vibe – I feel this hour mix is a good reflection of my taste and style. I tried to include a good mixture of old and new records on this, also showing love to Belfast labels and producers.*

Next up for me I’ll be appearing at Hang Dai In Dublin on Friday 22nd August, In September we have our ‘After Hours 5’ with Sound Metaphors, I’ll be joining up with Black Bones for their album launch and myself and Marion will also be doing a warm up for ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U and HODGE at Shine which will be interesting. Towards the end of the year we have series of parties planned in some very special abandoned spaces, including a collaboration with two of my favourite local DJs – ‘Call and Response’ – which I’m especially excited about (get to know them). I’ll also have my yearly collab with Never Never, so a pretty busy few months ahead.

In 2026, I’ll be releasing an edit pack of old American house records that I felt needed resurrected, I’ll also be putting out some original material with remixes from a few personal heroes of mine.

Hackney born and based, Lora S is a refreshing addition to the electronic music scene. She runs the club night Floorjam, a space that celebrates underrepresented talent in electronic music. Taking influence from Chicago and Detroit, her sets embrace house, acid, breaks, techno and the versatile fringes of wider electronic music, with big influences from R&B melodies, Hip Hop flair and African percussion. She primes any dancefloor she graces with the distinct pacing of her sets, eclectic selections, often with a curveball or two added in to her somewhat chaotic yet dexterous traversing of sounds.

I’m currently recovering from post-holiday blues after a recent trip to Marseille… Summer is in full swing so I’ve been balancing working my day job alongside DJing out and about in London. I filled in for blissy e on Voices Radio last month and have played some fun parties across London over the last couple of months including at Venue MOT with Shortlist, Sugar Rush with Tommy Gold and my own club series, Floorjam, at The Carpet Shop back in May.

This mix was recorded in one take, on a cloudy afternoon in London with an pioneer xdj set up. I wanted to put together a mix that was high energy and featured tracks new and old that I’ve been enjoying playing out of late. There are some real gems included and it’s definitely a mix made for dancing!

On this weeks Feel My Bicep mixtape, we welcome Van Wilkins. Van Wilkins is a 24-year-old DJ and producer from the South of England, known for weaving together Breakbeat, House, Dub, Electro, Techno, and everything in between. Tapping into the resurgence of UK Garage and Breaks, Van’s built a steady following with his instinctive selections and rhythm-led style. He’s played sets at Drumsheds, Keep Hush, and toured with Interplanetary Criminal, with a BBC Dancefloor Moment shout adding to the momentum. Outside the booth, he’s explored more experimental ground too — including an interactive music installation that handed creative control over to the audience.

I’ve been getting premasters in for releases this summer, which means spending far too long on snare drums that are chipping away at my sanity — even though i keep reminding myself that no one can hear the difference between the couple decibel adjustments.

I also recently joined Demand Artists booking agency, which I’m super excited about. I’ve also been working on a score for a climbing documentary that should be released soon — had a tonne of fun deconstructing my music into pretty drones. Logic has a brilliant function where I can drag video into my project, so I can produce live on the spot whilst watching the video.

This mix was recorded from my studio at home on my trusty Pioneer XDJ RX3’s with a green tea in hand. It’s made up entirely of unreleased original productions by me. I’ve always found myself switching between making club-focused tracks and more emotive, melodic stuff, and this mix brings both sides together in one place.

A lot of it came together while I was sat in various cafés in Bali on rainy afternoons — Headphones in, trying my best not to stare as soaked customers came in, ringing out their ponchos and drip-drying before finding a seat. That atmosphere definitely fed into the mood of some of the tracks in the first half.

I’ve got a release coming in August with Nervous Records, which I’m really looking forward to. There’s also a track landing soon with Outhouse Sounds on the 2nd of August— my first proper go at a techno release. And as mentioned, I’ve been working on the score for a climbing documentary, which pairs my music with some really beautiful scenery. Sat on tonnes of unreleased music so hopefully lots more releases soon!

This week we welcome Belfast-born producer, DJ, and label curator Hammer. He is the visionary behind two influential labels, Remmah and Italo Hiits, both of which showcase his distinctive sound while spotlighting rising talent. Remmah, now on its 20th release, has launched the careers of artists like Anna Gram, Kilimanjaro, and Stevie Cox, cementing its reputation as a hub for cutting-edge music. Hammer’s 2024 collaboration with Bicep on their Chroma label earned widespread airplay on BBC Radio 1 and 6 Music, while releases with He.She.They Records and a vinyl-only EP on Skylax Records highlights his versatile production skills.

Summer is in full swing and I’ve just released my latest single, ‘U Didn’t Know’ on my label Remmah. It features vocals from Lili Chan and it’s the 20th release on the label, and all in all I’m extremely happy about that!

The mix was recorded at Sub Club earlier this year, it was an all night 5-hour set and an absolutely amazing night.

This is the last hour of the five hour set I played, the idea at the time was just feed of the crowd and go with the flow. There’s nothing better than letting loose after building a music journey for the last four or five hours to a sweaty club with a beautiful sound system.

I’ve track coming out on Sri Lankan label Tropical Wax its a vinyl only Various Artists, as well as music coming on Semi Delicious and Nein Records.

I’m off to Beat Herder festival soon. Then I’ve two day parties at SWG3 in my hometown Glasgow and Gonzo’s Two Room in Norwich. I’m playing Burning Man in August too, which will be a first.

I’m also working on a new community studio at SWG3 in Glasgow which will be a really big and exciting project coming at the end of the year.

This week on the FMB mixtape we welcome Zuri. Hailing from San Sebastian but now based in Manchester, Zuri brings a distinctive, genre-defying approach to mixing. A resident at Amber’s Club and Crop Radio, with regular appearances at Soup, Warehouse Project, and standout shows alongside Joy Orbison, Overmono and Or:la, Zuri continues to carve her very own path. It’s been an exciting few months! I did my first guest show at NTS for Martha’s show last month. I listen to NTS all day and every day so I was very starstruck to be there. Earlier this month, I did my French debut at a gorgeous festival in the woods just outside of Paris called Orange Crush. Everyone should go next year, it’s such a cute festival! I have also just got back from Gottwood where I played at the no_one takeover which was such big fun.

The mix was recorded at Amber’s, which is my spiritual home. I wanted to try a three deck mix so I am very glad they let me sneak in. Thank you Hutch :)

The idea behind the mixtape was to treat dubby and percussive sounds as a kind of palette rather than anchoring myself to a specific genre. I’ve always had quite an eclectic taste, and my sets have naturally reflected that. After having been quite chaotically genre-fluid since I started DJing, I feel as though I am finally finding my own sound, where there’s plenty of room for fluidity but feels much more intentional and personal to me.

I wanted the mix to act almost like an ID or self-portrait, pulling together the styles I gravitate towards most at the moment. It’s an introspective recalibration of my sound and intent, merging deep sub-bass with forward-thinking, deconstructed styles that prompt both movement and reflection. There’s a strong emphasis on hypnotic, percussive, dubbed-out cuts, playing with tension and release, and navigating the line between moody and fun.

I felt brave enough to push myself out of my comfort zone and attempt a polyrhythmic transition where I blend a chuggy 3 bar loop at 110bpm with a 4/4 dubstep track at 146bpm. I also threw a 3 deck mix in there just for good measure :P It was a bit of a workout but worth the sweat!

I’ve also recently been quite fascinated in how dubstep is being reimagined, which allows a broader palette of sounds to feel at home within its framework. I tried to reflect that by including influences from outside traditional club genres that still feel very relevant to my sound.

In a nutshell, the mix is an appreciation of dubwise textures, UK soundsystem culture and global club and percussive sounds, tied together by a lot of introspection which should hopefully invite people to dance and also listen.

I am playing at We Out Here in August which I am really happy about. I will be travelling a lot with work during the summer, but I might try to sneak a set in Asia or the US from the back of it (@promoters I’m your woman!). I will be back in the UK for club season with some very exciting shows lined up!

This week on the FMB mixtape we welcome BIG REG, the DJ, producer and promoter who has keen a key figure of the underground scene for 2 decades. Starting in Leeds with the iconic Pigs club night to residencies at Mint Club, he’s now in London running Extra Smooth parties. He also has an EP on his own print incoming, Extra Smooth Records. Let’s catch up..

I’ve recently started a new club night and a record label called Extra Smooth Records with my friend Spencer. We had our launch back in May at CU in Dalston, naughty little basement club with a big fuck off dubstep sound system in there. We’re gearing up for our 1st release on the label which should be out by the end of the summer. But apart from that I’ve just been busy in the studio, hence the starting a record label.

I recorded this mix in my living room on turntables, CDJs and my knock off rotary mixer.

No real idea behind the mix really. I try not to overthink things. Just records I’ve picked up or rediscovered recently, played at roughly the same speed, well sometimes anyway. But its definitely more of a club focused mix.

Recently I’ve been playing a bunch of really great shows with my band, and working on a few remixes that’ll be out this summer. I’ve also been enjoying a (slight) lull in my tour schedule which has meant more time with friends!

Last Friday, I DJed at Outra Cena in Lisbon for a Numa High party. The Tascam recording is being mastered at the moment so—just for you—I’ve re-recorded part of my set, from the comfort of my lovely bedroom.

The party was a celebration of people and music from the African diaspora, so I featured a lot of Batida, Kuduro, Baile Funk and Afro House. Just serving up my usual mix of global dance sounds really—giving people a taste of what to expect at my upcoming shows, as well as showing off tunes I heard during my trip to Brazil earlier this year.

I have just had a run of two releases on Elicit and YUKU, alongside running my first party, “Patchwork”, where I invited Hermeneia to play an extended set. It was a great night of dub-heavy, hardcore continuum explorations.

I recorded the mix at my studio in Alboraya, Valencia. Two XDJs and a turntable were used.

I wanted to record a straight-to-the-point mix of heavy club sonics. It goes from breakbeat and machine-funk acid into the more percussive, bassier fringes of my collection. As always, I’m obsessed with the concept of the hardcore continuum, and I like to see in which different ways I can tap into it with my mixes, trying to snip and patch many points of club music history into new collages. We go from Detroit to Manchester to Tokyo, Baltimore, South London and beyond with this one.

Their love of house, italo, electro and trance music lead them into starting to produce music, releasing those on French labels, until they decided to start their own Record Label – Too Many Cars. I used to play a lot the last 10 years, especially when I had my record shop, sometimes 4x a week, mostly in Lille but also in Paris, Brussels, and other French cities. I’ve reduced the gigs since I had my daughter 2 years ago. I don’t feel that I need to play every weekend anymore. I’ve recently become a resident of a club called Nox Club, off course in Lille, playing there 6 or 7h dj set, all night or b2b.

This mix was recorded at my house, with a djm 350, 2 cdjs and a reloop rp 7000 for the records.

I have to say that it’s not really my cup of tea to record a 1h podcast as I like to play extended sets. Then I did it in 1 shot, like if i was playing a dj set, picktime, at around 3pm in a club. I wanted to play some electro, new beat, house, with all time classics and some recent stuff.

I recently got back from my Australia tour, was out there for the whole of January. Have been working hard in the studio since I got back and have been putting out some new music over the last month or so.

Was lucky enough that Klose One let me use his sick home set up (thanks Ruairi). The mix was recorded on 2 CDJ 2000 NXS, a DJM 900 NXS with a pair of Klipsch La.

I wanted to contribute something that I felt reflected my influences over the years. I dug into the archive for some 2012-2014 UK Bass that I was playing when I first started DJing, I bookended the mix with a couple tracks from one of my favourite video game Stray, and included plenty of new material from myself and close friends.

On this week’s episode of the Feel My Bicep mixtape we have Que Sakamoto a musician and producer from Tokyo, Japan, renowned for his eclectic blend of electronic music styles and his use of vintage equipment. His DJ sets are dynamic and tailored to each country he visits, never repeating the same vibe, and consistently pushing toward interesting and experimental sounds that reflect his Japanese identity.

Recently, I was in Brazil, South America until July, followed by time in Europe for the summer. I then travelled to Australia, Vietnam, and returned to Japan. After that, I visited Honolulu, Seattle, and New York, before heading to Nicaragua to celebrate the New Year countdown for 2025.

The mix was recorded at a friend’s house in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. My friends assisted with setting up the turntables, CDJs, and mixer.

The concept behind the mix was to create a smooth, emotional flow, focusing on selection rather than hard-hitting bangers. I aimed for a trippy and somewhat unconventional vibe, featuring some of my favorite tracks, as well as two tracks from my upcoming releases. I’m really happy with how the mixtape turned out.

I’ll be in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Latin America and USA end of April. I’ve signed with five labels, and all of my vinyl releases will be out in 2025. Going forward, I’m eager to play at more festivals, clubs, and forest gigs, while continuing to build my career with a focus on Japanese music.

Recently i’ve been changing my music taste, no joke. I feel like I’m discovering music for the 1st time. I started to get into broken beat / dubstep / bass music over the last few months. I also started a new radio show on the best radio station SUBTLE RADIO. Imagine walking into a radio station and every show is run by labels / djs you just started to listen to. I’m also putting a night on at the new bass heavy club CU DALSTON on the 7th of February, its 100 cap small basement club with a mighty soundsystem. I have booked Berlin bass label crew Fear Of Silence, my next track will be on their compilation. I’m super excited to have them in London on my night. On the night will be Glut Sound and Buer one of the founders of SUBTLE RADIO. BIG BUSINESS!!!! Everyone is welcome and if any one struggles for funds please reach out. This was recorded at MACHINE WOMAN HQ ;P on my cdjs 2000 nexus + tascam DR 40.

The idea for the mix was to share the music I’m excited about right now. Most of this sounds new to me, some tracks I found via TikTok like Deffy (big up), RAFA.wav from Paris really taken me back with his mixes and blends of dubstep and experimental, I have also included neogrime artist CSV, a very new genre to me. A couple of drops from Air Protection Office and Delta Division (playing at CU on 7th of February) and a track that changes tempo 5 times inside the track, I thought it was a rekordbox glitch but then you play it on cdjs it goes all Bermuda Triangle on you I never seen it before. I also put in a couple of my favourite Mexican artists Buena Tarde and Peso Pluma. They are both from Guadalajara, with all the exciting music coming from Mexico. This is a place I would love to visit. Also big love to Fracture as I recently went to his exhibition in Hackney and it was really inspiring to see the documentation of pirate radio culture.

Recently, I’ve been surviving the Scandinavian winter, mixing records and making tunes.

I decided to make this mix from 100% unreleased material. Most of this was made using the Make Noise Morphagene, Bitwig, Ableton Live, XO drum sequencer and Shaperbox 3.

I often make my albums as continuous streams (“Will” in particular), and sometimes I split tracks off into individual ideas. For the mix I felt very free just to let it flow. So although there are distinct moments and tracks, it didn’t matter if ideas repeated or blended into the next track. It was really interesting to turn out some demos and develop some rough ideas — previously I’d have tested these tunes in DJ sets and work out a general feel for arrangements etc., but this was another route to find something that makes sense to me. Hopefully the final mix feels like a blend between an album, a mixtape and a soundtrack.

More of the same, really. I’ve a few collaborations planned, a lot of mixing work and I will also set up a smaller 2nd studio, this time in London. There’s quite a lot more of my own material coming too. Looking forward to 2025!

He’s known for mixing between textures, genres, tempos and styles, underground and overground, with a love for pitched down jungle, pitched up breakbeat rave, EBM, dark balearic and acid rollers. Music wise, I’ve had a great year – for someone isn’t a “career” DJ, I’ve been lucky to play at some amazing spots in 2024 – Fabric for Daniel Avery’s Divided Love (b2b with Bicep support Manami), Queens Yard Summer Party, Love International, Waterworks and Field Maneuvers were some highlights. I’ve had a relatively quiet close to the year, but just had my NTS Sacred Pools show recently.

This mix was recorded at home on x3 Pioneer XDJ1000 and a Pioneer DJM800 mixer. I actually recorded this in the middle of the night so I had to do this using my wife’s headphones (also not my usual AI AI AI ones as I have misplaced them…) as my family were asleep. It took over 20 attempts to record it as the first 4 minutes is three tracks layered over each other and trying to get that right with no monitor and non-dj standard headphones was a mission. Nailed it at 03:30 am…

In the same way that Matt and Andy cover a wide range of BPMs and textures across what they play, I wanted to do the same with this mix where what I play is loosely in their world of music, but at the same time this is something to listen to rather than just hearing on the dance floor. I described it to Matt as “ethereal bangers” and this mix is relatively pacy with a 136 – 166 bpm range. I’ve dug deep into my collection for this, with tracks from 1991 through to 2024, with selections from all 4 decades. I love recording mixes just as much as I love playing to a dance floor.

Just locking in some dates for next year which is exciting. I’m playing for the Dairy Farm crew at Low Profile Studios Manor House, London tomorrow night (Friday 29th Nov) – that will be quite slamming hardcore / bass / techno / jungle set, then spending a month in Ibiza on a family trip (I’ll be playing at The Standard with legendary promoter Mark Broadbent on 12th December), and my first show next year is 28th February with Full Measure at The Waiting Room, Stoke Newington. Some very exciting festival and club dates to be announced…

I recorded this one morning at home on my housemates cdj set up – 2x CDJ900s, some sort of DJM mixer and a coffee next to me.

I get pretty stressed out recording mixes so I had a start and end track in mind, the rest is a bit of a freestyle. I guess it’s a snippet from a dark, sweaty club when you’re not too sure what the time is anymore.

I’ve been keeping very busy! I’ve been on the road every month this year, and when I’m home I’m usually either DJing in NYC, prepping for an upcoming set, or out on a dancefloor enjoying the immense talent and incredible events we have here every weekend. Lately though I’ve also been sprinkling in weekends off for rest and self-care, which has looked like quality time with loved ones outside the club, going down rabbit holes at home with new records and assignments for an Ableton course I’m taking, and monthly trips to the sauna (new fave way to rejuvenate!). I also think it’s very important as an artist to slow down and take time to reflect on how your artistry is being expressed and received. This is especially true the bigger and bigger the opportunities coming your way get. Speaking personally, my entire year has seen nonstop, iconic, inspirational, wildly rewarding new experiences and connections and a few dreams come true so I have lots to reflect on and immense gratitude for all the trust to tear it up all over the place. At the risk of sounding cheesy I have genuinely just been soaking up the blessings, trying to take any stresses in stride and not limit myself in any of my own imaginings for the future.

I recorded this mix at home using two XDJ-1000s and a DJM-750 mixer, focusing on getting songs to kiss with one eye on the decks and one eye on my cats.

As this mix is scheduled to air on Halloween, I decided to take the phrase “bubble, bubble, toil and trouble” as inspiration. I wanted to conjure up a mix built around tracks that bring to mind a bubbling cauldron (is it a love potion, or poison?) and blend grooves that evoke mischief magic with those that hold a simmering darkness – ultimately with the goal of casting a spell upon my coven of listeners. I tend to be a rather genre-agnostic selector; while I originally thought I would lean entirely into a spooky bag, in the end I’m delighted that this mix traverses a range of moods across different corners of electronic music. Listening back I feel slinky sensuality playing an groovy tug of war with weirdo twists and turns. Very Rose Kourts.

When this mix comes out, I’ll be out in Montréal for the first time playing during Halloween weekend! Afterwards I’ll be taking a short break from gigs to focus on other creative projects, like production and a few more mixes I finally have the headspace for. I’m also taking some time to vision board the future; thinking about next iteration of dreamy gigs to work towards is the first step in manifesting, whenever the stars align. I am already working on dates for 2025, including a much anticipated EU tour in May (yes y’all, she’s back!) and would love to explore more of the world in next autumn. Unrelated to DJing, I’m delighted to be firmly in my Auntie era and am eager to share the joy of music with some sweet babies in my life :)

I’m writing new music, developing my songwriting, working on some bespoke compositions and also building Ghetec @gh3tec (my community, label and party series).

This mix was recorded at home on 2 x XDJ 1000’s and Allen & heath Xone 42 mixer.

The mix is inspired by my memories from summer as we transition into winter. It’s hyper dancey then tails off into more introspective selections. I’m trying to find the intersection between shifting club sounds and experimental music with a peppering of leftfield pop. In some ways this feels like my first mix as Boo, as I’m just discovering how to play in a way that feels like me!

Recently I’ve been on a rollercoaster because I’ve just moved to a new home in Barcelona with a new job in the music industry so now my days are really busy because I also have to combine it with my personal projects. So I have these thoughts laying in bed like finally I am on the path I wanted all these years and my ambition continues to grow so if I don’t start organizing myself better and resume therapy it will eat me up. Also why is downtempo not on trend? Let trip hop make a comeback, pleaseeee.

I recorded it for the first time playing in my new home with my own equipment (I was without it for like a year), and my roomies were listening to it, so cute. My computer crashed yesterday so I had to put together last minute tracks mixed with my friend’s songs… a rollercoaster, sis.

So you can find lots of percussion, an underline dubstep rhythm, very deep, very clubby. Some political message and 3 unreleased tracks from 3 Barcelona based artists talented as phuck. It is somehow a tribute to the city of Barcelona, since it has changed my life. :)

The mix was recorded at my home in Bristol with 2 fans (my cats) listening in….1 was asleep and the other getting annoyed that I was paying her attention.

I had the opportunity to immerse myself living in the vibrant culture of Bogotá earlier this year, where I dedicated my time to wrapping up my upcoming EPs. Connecting with talented Colombian artists through Vandelay Radio, a radio station I co-run with my close friend Dare Balogun. After this, myself and my partner took some time to travel, and my trip ended in Mexico City where I had the honour of closing out the main hall of the legendary [sic] club. Now, back home in London, I’m feeling recharged and ready to tackle new challenges and goals.

The mix was recorded at home, where I set up my turntables and CDJs on my living room table, surrounded by plants, with good lighting and a cup of tea. I wanted the setup to look visually appealing because I decided to film the mix. Capturing both the audio and visuals felt important to me for the mix.

I wanted to maintain a steady groove and energy throughout the show, as that approach reflects my style. I’d like to think that I select tracks that keep the dancefloor alive, but I was keen to introduce some variety to avoid a one-dimensional vibe. To create those subtle shifts, I incorporated tracks from artists like Terry Lee Brown Junior and Envoy, allowing the mix to breathe a bit. Of course though, I had to throw in my new bits too and it was fun to see how they fitted.

I have lots of club releases coming out. My focus remains on creating music that resonates with the dancefloor. I’ve been making tunes and DJing since I was a kid, and I’ve come to realise that, for me, it’s no longer just about expressing my personal experiences through music. For me it’s about crafting something for others, something fun. What do people truly crave in these spaces? The chance to dance, to have fun, to feel safe, to forget about any troubles they’ve got going on and to be swept away on a joyful journey of transcendence.

As a DJ and club music producer, my goal is to create a space where connection is at the heart of the experience. I want people to feel deeply connected to the music, to each other, and to the moment itself. There’s nothing in the world that compares to that sense of unity on the dancefloor. And that’s why we do it. Some of my happiest moments in life have happened in those spaces, and I’m committed to bringing that experience to others in this vibrant culture. After moving back to my home town in Derbyshire I have been trying to lock in with my own records and ideas as much as possible. I am much closer to family here so a lot of my work recently has been filled with I guess nostalgia and feelings I’ve had when I was younger growing up around here. I think I have love/hate relationship with this place but you can’t change your roots so I’m making the most of it with what I love to do. I also love playing darts now which I seem to be alright at. I have also been making lots of records with BABii & Iglooghost over the past year and early this year which is something I don’t think I would ever have been able to say at all. It’s been really inspiring working with these two on DD2000 coming out in October. Other than making music under Pholo, I’m now also involved in another project under an alias called DJ Dolly with some more kind of Techno & House sound. The name comes from my last name being Dalton and my Dads nickname has always been Dolly or Ken so I thought I’d make most of the more cooler nick name being Dolly.

I did this mix just in my flat in my home town, Heanor. The closest place like Pirate studios to me is in Nottingham which isn’t far at all but I have no neighbours at the moment. Well, I think I don’t, so I have taken advantage and recorded this mix loud on my own. The people on the market outside my house loved it also so shout out to Memo and Jamie Bestwick.

When I get asked to do a guest mix, most of the time I translate it into being asked to create an album or some what of a movie for them. I like taking songs of my own and changing them into a more club sounding record or even a classical version of itself. From start to end I like to have the listener maybe excited or even confused, but over all in a state that they could only get from this one mix I have put together. I also like remixing music that they may have forgotten about and question where they heard the vocal from or something.

I’m hopefully going to finish an album.. hopefully. I have a couple EPs finished I want to drop this year including my record Ecko but my dream is to have an album that I could release once I am happy with a solid selection of music and videos that represent my idea of Pholo & Spider Circle. Winter this year I am planning a tour in the US with locations and dates coming soon. I also want to join a basketball team and maybe move back to London to be around some friends that inspire me.

Festival season is in full swing right now, so in-between that and making tunes am trying to sleep; see the fam; clear my embarrassing inboxes + to-do list; and do little things every day to stay happy and healthy.

This year I was lucky enough to play on the truly iconic IICON stage at Glastonbury Festival (cute side note BICEP’s live set was a couple hours after me) so decided to bring a slice of it here – “One Hour Of IICON” – for those asking for a recording <3

Because I was opening the stage for the night – including soundtracking the sun setting – I didn’t want to go in too hard. So this mix is cherry picking tunes from a slow building bass n drums odyssey, as always prioritising new music from underground producers (but also showed respect to the originators with a couple classics).

Headed to Pirate Studios for their CDJ-3000s as I set a stupid number of loops + cue points on some of the tracks in here to play around with their arrangements (sorry producer friends!) so I could cram in as much as possible. It’s pretty quick mixing; cutting down 2.5 hours was a MISSION!! So fingers crossed this edition still captures some of the magic of that day.

I’ll soon be releasing a track of mine “Up – Run That” (played it in this mix) as a single raising funds for some Sudanese/South Sudanese causes, followed by freeing up 34U.2, the 2nd EP off this year’s production’s mix Made By Mia Koden Vol.2. I finally graduated university (6 years) and played Glastonbury for the first time on the same weekend. I’m shattered but I’m ecstatic that I can move into the next phase of my life now, I was getting really frustrated at having to postpone studio sessions and other cool music opportunities because of my finals. That’s all done now.

I’ve got a few days off at home (Newcastle) before I fly out to the US for a string of shows. Having just moved out of university everything’s a mess and it’s weird having all of my belongings in one room. Obviously the decks were the first to get set up haha.

I actually wanted to do something that reflects this transitional phase in my life, which involves letting go of a lot of things and even relationships. When my laptop got wiped last year I lost a lot of my project files, leaving me to scavenge mp3s of demos I had been working on from old emails and USBs. It’s always funny looking back at old music and resonating with the idea there, but being horrified by the execution. Anyway, I found a few ‘lost demos’ from 2020 – 2021 that I still really like and wanted to cement them into reality in this mix, even though I can’t work on them or release them officially. It’s cool seeing how my influences and inspirations have evolved since then. I initially tried to do a full mix made up of only my old demos but it was too jarring. In a way, this is my way of letting go of that music as I move into something new.

I’ve just finished a year long residency collaborating with/composing for the Scottish Chamber Orchestra for their Soundbox programme where I was experimenting with bringing together electronic and classical sounds and ways of making. We just had our final shows for the Un:Titled series where I performed live vocals and synth with a 9-piece ensemble.

The mix was recorded at home with my laptop on Ableton using a midimix controller that I set up with FX, filters etc.

The mix is a set I played at a night called Loose Joints in Glasgow alongside Dilly Joints and OR:LA, I had a lot of fun playing that night and I wanted the mix to be something that was improvised and created in the moment responding to everyone in the room. Unfortunately I didn’t record it live so this is a shortened recreation of that set.

My second album “Love Theory”, came out last month, so I have been quite busy promoting it, and I also started a spring/summer tour which is quite exciting!

The mix was recorded last month, in my studio at home in Montpellier; it was a monday morning, I’m quite a morning person. I was back from a festival, and I had a few days off before leaving again.

I had a few artists in my mind for it, so I started the selection a couple of weeks before making the mix. The idea was to record a session that could also be played in a club, building a progressive ambience, and I was excited to try new gems! I also included some tracks of mine, hope you’ll like it :)

On this weeks Feel My Bicep mixtape series we have JD. REID, a forward-thinking producer hailing from North West London. His catalogue is steeped in hip-hop, trap, jazz, pop and more, always bridging the gaps between genres and representing the melting pot that is London.

Between finishing up my next EP, working on production for other artists, starting my own night called ‘BABY GRAVY’, playing shows and being on the radio I’ve been real busy recently! 2024 has been a pretty hectic year for me so far but in the best way. In terms of my own solo music I’ve mostly been putting out edits over the past few years which are always fun to make and I don’t plan on stopping making them anytime soon, but it’s felt great to start putting out my own original music again. Now that I’ve started dropping again I feel inspired to keep going and have been writing a lot of new stuff. I’m really looking forward to having more of this music come out over the rest of this year.

I recorded the mix at my home studio using my Technics 1210’s, a Pioneer DJM-450 and Serato.

My outlook when it comes to DJ’ing is the same as when I make music. I like and listen to a lot of different sounds so in the same way I incorporate that into the music I make, I want that to come across in my DJ sets. In this mix specifically I wanted to play music from some different sub genres within electronic music and show how I like to travel between them in my sets. There’s some old stuff in there, some recent discoveries and a couple new bits of original music from me too.

This week on the FMB Mixtape series we welcome Mr. Sosa, the Bournemouth native DJ and producer whose project was born out of the Lofi house era with hooky, dreamlike, broken-beat electronica. After selling out shows across Europe, he’s signed with S.C.D.D and Platoon where he’ll release his first album late 2024. We first caught up with him to find out about the mix and what he’s been up to lately…

I’ve been working on my debut album, it’s been in the works for a while but I’m really trying to hone in on my sound and create a timeless piece of art. I think that’s always going to take more effort and longer to do than you originally think, but hopefully I’ll be able to put it out into the world soon!

I recorded this mix in my home studio on my cdj’s, I’m fortunate enough to have a great setup that I’ve been building for quite a while, as I’m also a mastering engineer and spend almost everyday in my studio engineering and producing.

The main idea was to debut lots of tunes and edits I’ve been making over the last year or so that I haven’t had many chances to test and some gems I’ve been digging. I went for big bassy energy and even some hardgroove as I love playing samba/hardgroove drums in my sets, they just get people going. I crammed a lot of music into this mix and it’s basically a snippet of where my heads at in the club scene right now.

I’m looking forward to playing some festivals like Boardmasters and Hijacked alongside some really great artists and hopefully travelling to some new places. But of course making more music and finishing the album is also a priority!

This week on the FMB Mixtape series we welcome DJ wiggles, UK Based DJ and founder / curator of the event and mix series ‘Kinetic’. She leans into the soundscapes of dubstep, bass, techno & half time, paying homage to UK sounds, past and present. We first caught up to find out a bit about the mix & what she’s been up to lately…

I started the year off pretty busy & focussed but Aprils been a much needed slower month for me. We recently adopted a rescue dog so a lot of time has been spent on helping him adjust to his new life, and creativity levels have been fairly varied so I’ve tried not to push myself too much. Lots of walks, nature & wholesome activities – getting my fix before the summer & festival season begins.

The mix was recorded at home on 2 x xdj 700s, 2 x technic 1210s and a xone 23. I love my little set up, it’s super cosy – if I could transport my home set up with me everywhere I would, it’s a safe space for me for sure :) I’ve also been trying to play more records again, so was really nice to have a bunch of stuff I could play for this.

I’ve had a bit of a rollercoaster start to the year & like many people, been feeling pretty emotionally drained. When coming up with a concept for this, I thought about what bicep’s music (and the platform) had meant to me when I was in my 20s, and settled on something emotional and nostalgic. This mix is in part a fairly raw response to how I’ve been feeling emotionally recently, but also a collection of some of my favourite records which I’ve loved for years and will love forever.

Dubstep can be a super emotional genre but it’s not something I hear out very often, or that I get a chance to play a lot so this felt like the perfect opportunity. This is my favourite kind of dubstep, the late night / early morning rollers which really tug on the heartstrings, tears in the club kind of vibe.

I have very nostalgic memories surrounding these records and it was both a pleasure and a challenge putting them together. I feel like a heavy weight has been lifted after recording this mix, so hopefully this evokes a similar emotion for the listeners.

I also have my next kinetic event at ormside projects on the 17th with Struction, Jurango & Ryo Kurashina, as well as my Berlin debut at the end of the month before festival season kicks off! On this weeks FMB Mixtape series, we welcome RUTHLSS, a London-based composer, classically trained pianist, DJ and electronic music producer who blends techniques from her vast skill set with electronic and dance music. Let’s catch up first about the mix and what she’s been up to recently…

I’ve been busy finishing lots of music for my debut solo electronic and classical releases, as well as working on some exciting collab tracks lined up for later this year too. I recently played Fabric Room 1 for the first time which was a long held dream of mine and I’m still not over it tbh! I’m spending most days at home enjoying figuring out my new live set and experimenting with lots of out there ideas before the release schedule soon becomes the priority.

I recorded this mix using CDJs at a studio in East London

The idea for the mix came mostly from wanting to include a few of my own unreleased tracks and building a journey from there – they’re all slightly varied in genre but have a similar feeling of simultaneous sadness and euphoria. This led me to approach the mix more like a mixtape of current favourites than a club set, though it does inevitably become more of a club set in the middle :) There’s everything spanning from techno / hardgroove to bass / breaks and some choral elements in there too.

This week on the FMB Mixtape series, we welcome Rob Glasset, better known as Fold into the mix. Fold is a London-based producer and DJ, as well as owner of FLDIN2, long-standing resident at NTS and he also co runs East London’s Well Street Records. As always, we first caught up with Rob to find out about the mix & what he’s been up to lately…

Recently, I supported Overmono on the UK leg of their world tour. I’ve also been busy finishing off material to release on my newly launched label FLDIN2 – as well as co running Well Street Records with my old friend Sam Fussell. Add an NTS Radio residency and a full time job of testing water in commercial buildings around London into the mix and it’s pretty mental at the moment.

I recorded this mix in my modest home studio – 2 x technics 1210’s, 2 x CDJ400 + 1 x DJM 250 – 2 channel mixer – apologies to the neighbours.

The main idea behind the mix is #Dubplateseason. Showcasing new and unreleased material from producers that I really rate + my own unreleased material. When I recorded the mix back in January I would say 50% of the tracks were demos or waiting to be mastered. The mix is centred around the current modernist, dark, UKG garage sound. But rather than being akin to the revivalist UKG movement that’s having a bit of moment, I’m more interested in the sounds that are pushing forward into a newer territory altogether. It seems a bit too easy to just replicate an old genre, I feel like progression and experimentation should be at the heart of any new production.

Aside from that there’s also some rare, forgotten gems in the mix as a reference point – bits that I would hear on Force FM as a teenager driving around in my Ford Escort. I also wanted to represent something that would just straight up bang in a club and move a crowd because I enjoy doing that too.

Some UK gigs are lining up. Some remixes are on the horizon too. Lots of things are bubbling for Well street Records at the moment. But mostly, I’m looking forward to continuing to work on new FLDIN2 material as I’m really feeling inspired to operate in that space right now. I’ve got about 10 dubs I need to put the finishing touches on and get released.

March has been a busy month! I played both my Drumsheds and Ministry of Sound debuts which were super fun. I’ve just launched my new night Misc; so there’s been a lot of planning and preparation going into that, the first date was back home in Birmingham and we’ve got the London play this week (which I’m currently prepping my set for)

I recorded this mix at home on my pioneer controller, in the early hours of the morning (as per usual). I’m a night owl, I feel like all my best ideas come to me between the hours of 12-4am lol

Most of my mixes are a bit of a journey through sounds and this one is no different, it reflects a lot of what I’ve been to lately. I’m actually terrible with genres but I’d say it’s got an electronic-jazzy-house vibe to it mixed with some broken beat and heavy basslines (tried my best).

Prepping for a busy summer, this will be my first taste of festival season so I’m quite excited. I’m gonna take some downtime at the start of April before the madness descends, but I’m excited to play Brick Lane Jazz Festivals After Party at Village Underground at the end of the month; it’s a really nice line up and actually my first time playing that venue so I think it’ll be a great vibe.

This week on the FMB Mixtape Series, we welcome the DJ & Producer, James Shinra, back to Feel My Bicep. He released his ‘Signs’ EP on FMB back in 2019 & has since had a string of releases on Analogical Force, Craigie Knowes and We’re Going Deep. As always, we first caught up to find out a bit about the mix & what he’s been up to lately…

Last year I released an acid house EP on We’re Going Deep, which was great fun to make. Later in the year I released a few things myself. I put out a few short releases called Meteorites in which I explore a few different styles – for example, number 2 was more dubby than my usual stuff, number 4 was ambient. Out most recently is a more banging electro track called Poppin as part of a new project called Shinra Electro Company. I played some great live gigs at the end of last year too, in Spain and France. I’ve also been DJing a bit – for a long time I just played live, but it’s fun to mix it up and play a wider variety of music than just my own productions.

I put it together in Ableton at my studio at home.

The first 45 minutes are kind of the stuff I like to DJ – a mixture of electro, techno, acid, breaks. Some melodies in there and some harder edged stuff. Some older tracks, some brand new. I had to include a few things – something from Cameo Blush, Client_03 and Datassette (I just love everything they do), something from Scuba’s Digital Underground album (on heavy rotation recently), and something from pq (check out the EP called ‘Proprioception’, it’s wild). For the last 15 minutes I thought I’d just go off into the deep end and throw in a couple of favourite Aphex tracks and one of my more frenetic tracks to close it off.

I’m making some more Shinra Electro Company tracks which I’ll put out every so often. I’m also extremely excited to be playing a live set at Houghton Festival this summer. I’ve heard such great things about it so when I got the invitation I was absolutely buzzing for days. Can’t wait!

Lately I’ve been working a lot on building foundations of a future project that will be a space for artistic development surrounding “what makes one feel and express it’ s own unique beauty”.

I’m trying to build a bridge between our sensorial, ethereal and exterior conceptions of beauty and find out if there is a way of sharing this in to a bigger ritual as means of connexion.

The mix was made on a crappy Numark mixtrack at my friend’s house.

In this mix I’ve tried to create soundtrack for a dirty self care ritual in a feverish dreamscape.

I am currently getting ready to head back on tour in Europe and play some exciting events. This means a lot of packing, organizing and planning has been taking place.

The mix was actually recorded back in my home studio, in Melbourne, Australia during my holiday break. This gave me access to my entire record collection, so I made sure to select some hidden gems that hadn’t made their way into my bag yet.

The idea for this mix was to play strictly old school tools from my personal collection. All of the records resonate deeply with me, embodying the true sound of underground techno. While the mix has a consistent theme I made sure to include a few staple tracks that I have enjoyed playing out recently.

This week in the mix is Koboro, the London-born DJ & co-founder of Elicit Records – a new label co-founded by himself & Kessler to champion forward thinking electronic music with an emphasis on giving a platform to lesser-known artists. As always, we first caught up to hear about the mix & what he’s been up to…

There’s been lots of behind-the-scenes work getting Elicit out into the world, which has been in the works since late 2022. After many delays, it was a big relief to officially launch back in October with Eddy’s EP Lunar, which if you haven’t checked out already go do so now (its nuts!!). We’ve also just recently dropped a 12-track compilation and the feedback has been seriously amazing.

In more recent news, we just threw a fundraising party last week for Sudan in collaboration with two amazing labels, Amity Club and SSS, who are run by amazing close friends of mine who happen to also be some very talented individuals. Sudan is currently undergoing a massive humanitarian crisis and I really hope to see more people talking about it.

The mix was recorded in Pirate studios on a set of cdj 2000’s and a djm900nxs2 mixer, not exactly ideal but the home set up is currently undergoing a makeover lol. I had actually borrowed a controller from my friend to get this recorded initially but didn’t bother with it in the end as I still just don’t like the feel of controllers.

It’s definitely a power hour and gets straight to business. Lots of bass and percussion and gets quite deep at times, a pretty solid reflection of the type of music I’ve been enjoying playing in the club lately. The mix features a blend of (mostly) newer and forthcoming music including some unreleased Elicit bits.

Pushing out some of my own music soon on Elicit and maybe finally organising my record collection which I’ve putting off for years now. Also finalising next few releases on the label, we have a busy schedule ahead of us and our plans for Elicit span far beyond music, but I won’t spill too many details now, you’ll just have to stay locked ;)

I’ve been reflecting on the successes and challenges of 2023, nurturing my creative energy and refilling my glass. I’m currently taking a moment to breathe before diving into another hectic 12 months.

The mix was recorded in one of Rinse’s studios on a pair of CDJ-3000s and a Pioneer A-9 Mixer

It’s kind of a Homage to House music as a whole..New York, Chicago, Detroit and even some London sounds – there’s all sorts thrown in there. Some big influences for myself such as Steven Julien and Scott Grooves, mixed in with the likes of Ladymonixx and Frits Wentink!

I’ve been continuing to develop my weekly show on Rinse FM and have been busy lining up some incredible guests for 2024.

I’ve also just begun working with a manager to start locking in gigs across the UK, Europe and further field for 2024. Super excited to play for more audiences globally in 2024! On top of that I’m excited to kick the year with my first gig of 2024 in London, headlining at Peckham Audio on the 19th of January for The Solstice Collective.

To wrap up 2023, we have The Teknoist back on the mix. With a career that’s lasted over 20 years, Mike now heads up Ninja Columbo Records. We had a catch up to hear more about the mix & what he’s been up to.

Hiya! Since we last spoke, ive been doing exactly what i said i was going to do and get back to being neck deep in hardcore techno and breakcore. Ive released a couple of techno EP’s with Ben Pest and Cocktail Party Effect, a darkside DnB EP with Smyla and am just about to release a new hardcore techno EP with Dolphin. Iv also been trying to wrap up a techno EP for Sunil Sharpe, which tbh is a very big focus as im a huge fan of his and how he uses his presence in music. It’s almost there. Iv also moved house and studio, which after multiple mini breakdowns while i was in the midst of that, now i’m settled, in the new spaces, im finally rebuilding my positive habits, rituals and behaviours and am feeling like moving was and is a positive step for me in so many ways.

This mix was recorded on a modified DJ controller. An old Traktor Kontrol 2 but with a replaced optical innofader 2 and 2 X 10 inch vinyl attached by velcro on each platter. I modified/made it a few years ago, specifically as a ‘portable turntablism machine’. It’s actually the best controller I’ve ever scratched on. It trumps any modern CDJ/controller when it comes to cutting and scratching. I also used a Technics 1210 and Traktor Skratch as a 3rd deck. There’s quite a bit of turntablism throughout the mix so I thought I’d just use the ‘PSU’ (Portable Scratch Unit) to do all of this mix on. I recorded it in my new studio. As soon as I completed the rigmarole of setting up, wiring, positioning etc all of my music kit, this mix was top of my ‘To Do’ list.

Well, i dont think you guys have had an all out hard/break-core massacre on the mixtape series, have you? I wanted to represent the true sound of the most underground genres on the planet before someone came along and did a ‘novelty breakcore’ type set and that be the introduction to said genres to your unknowing regulars. These genres are what i made my name with and if i’m honest, it’s the reason i exist at all. They are constantly misrepresented and misunderstood. I truly believe that hardcore techno and breakcore are, when done right, are the most well produced and intricately brilliant genres in all of music. There is no energy like the energy in each of them, when the best of them are being played. A lot of people can’t or don’t want to hear the brilliance and beauty layered underneath the intense energy and all consuming drum beats. It’s also very rarely ‘cool’ to genuinely be into them. You don’t win points at 99% of after parties, during youtube roulette by putting on ‘Ultraviolent Junglist’ by Venetian Snares. So to be into it, you have to genuinely love it. You generally dont seem cool to regular people, showing them this music. You dont go to a core night to look cool and hook up with someone. There is zero posing. It’s that earnesty that makes it such a sweet scene and area of music. No limitations, no set tempos …pure freedom of expression by way of horrifying kickdrums lol. I could talk for hours on this :)

What are you up to next?

I covered a lot of this in the first question but along with what i said there, i’m still running the Grey Meta label with my 3 other partners. Coming up on that is some really exciting stuff. No genre limitations there and also a hot sauce that we’ve been working on with Khoo from Khoo’s hot sauce for maybe a couple of years now. It’s not just a ‘put our name’ on a product thing, Khoo has been a huge supporter of all of our music for decades and his insistence on creating something that fits us as an organisation really resonates with us and our belief that authenticity is paramount. Iv also got new releases on my original hardcore techno/breakcore labels ‘Ninja Columbo’ and ‘Our Fucking Jungle’ imminiently coming out. Also, a nice diary of gigs. I have to give a shout to my agent and friend, Ash Scheme Boy and his Varispeed agency here as without him and his work, i’d be lost, literally, in a big ASDA, every day. You try being my agent lol

This week’s mixtape guest is Stevie Cox. She’s a resident at Glasgow’s Subculture and released her EP ‘Daydreamer’ last year via Remmah Records. We asked more about the mix and what Stevie’s been up to recently…

I’ve been battling some rather odd hairstyles growing out a shaved head. Thank god for wigs and hats! Aside from that, I’ve just finished a weekend of shows in Edinburgh and Aberdeen for Steel City Dance Discs, and some shows in Glasgow including a b2b with Domenic Cappello and another with Ewan McVicar. I’ve also been finishing some productions – a moody debut solo release on Holly Lester’s awesome label Duality Trax for a PCRF fundraising compilation which is out now, and a remix for Ben Sims out on EPM in January, and my debut solo EP coming to you via Optimo Music on the 19th January. I also just finished a wee drum and bass number for Hammer’s label Remmah which will be out in April :)

The mix is a musical love letter to the Sub Club in Glasgow. I’m lucky enough to be a resident there for Subculture, the world’s longest running house and techno night alongside Harri, Domenic and (the best DJ in the world ;) ) Telford. Subculture’s got a really specific sound and vibe – it’s emotional, hypnotic, directional and atmospheric – all the good stuff. The same people are in the crowd week in and week out, which makes it really special.

When I first got asked to do this mix I was initially going to submit a peak time hour live from the club, but the recording failed. Classic. I still wanted to use this mix to celebrate Subculture, so I approached it in the same way I’d play at the club on a Saturday night with the family – I made a wee playlist of tunes I’m feeling at the moment, hit record, had a boogie and went on a journey from warm up into peak time. So I guess this mix is what the warm up is like at Subculture as I ran out of time just as we hit the peak mark… anyway, warm ups are the hardest part of the night to get right but the most rewarding, and I think they translate to home listening quite nicely.

My friend Naomi told me she’d never met anyone who hated household chores more than me so hopefully if you find doing the laundry as boring as I do and need something to bop about the house to whilst you do that or some other tedious task, this mix makes it a bit more enjoyable for you. Hopefully you discover a new tune or artist you love as well. The mix features music from some great artists such as Forest On Stasys, and some unreleased numbers from Manakinz (Harri + Max Raskin) and myself.

And what’s next?

Next, I’m off to Berlin on the 9th December to play at Paloma Bar on a hot lineup to celebrate 3 years of SÄVY, a great label I really recommend checking out, then I’ve got my Subculture residency shortly after. Also really looking forward to banging it out on New Years Eve at La Cheetah with Djrum, Nightwave and loads more. Spicy lineup. Big shout out to Wardy for the invite there! This week we have Jay Carder on the mixtape. Jay has been DJing across various radio stations for over 10 years, including Soho Radio, NTS & Rinse FM, and released her debut EP ‘Entropy’ at the end of 2022. We asked more about this mix & what she had been up to recently:

Firstly thanks so much for having me on the FMB mix series! 2023 so far has been a whirlwind…In January off the back of my debut EP, Mary Anne Hobbs asked me for a 6Music guest mix; she then playlisted the track ‘Eva’s Stoned’ for three whole weeks on the station – it was kinda mind blowing hearing it played daily. I also did a tour of India over Jan/Feb (15 gigs in 5 weeks say whaaat haha) before flying straight back to join Interplanetary Criminal for a few dates on his UK tour.

Since then I’ve been playing most weekends around the country (plus a few cheeky sets in Barcelona), broadcasting on Rinse FM every Monday, and trying to squeeze in studio time as much as possible around other commitments (just about hanging in there with my ‘non-music-related-but-funding-the-dream’ day job too haha).

Ah yes, imagine the scene. I had an unusually free Saturday – I’d been playing in Peckham until 6am Friday night and crawled into bed for a few hours, then woke up around lunchtime to the sun streaming through the window. It felt like the first proper day of summer (aka festival season) and I just felt so energised and ready to dive into a day of digging. My normally chaotic house was empty with everyone away for the weekend and I had the whole place to myself to immerse myself in music, play it as loud as I dared (sorry neighbours) and dig to my heart’s content.

I’d been putting tracks aside for this mix for a little while, but that Saturday was a full 12-hour stint of finding, vibing and mixing tunes. The result is actually my favourite mix I’ve ever recorded – it’s full of twists and turns, highs and lows. I recorded it late into Saturday night, around 2am, on my humble yet beloved home setup of two XDJs and a DJM800.

I’m really genuinely excited to share this with the world! I know it’s been said a million times but a good mix is genuinely a piece of art itself – a collection of ‘moments’ strung together in a mesmerisingly coherent way. Of the tracks I chose, some I’ve never played before but am totally drawn to, and some have been causing some real damage in my recent club sets. Most of them are fairly new/some unreleased, but there’s a peppering of nostalgia in there too. With Bicep’s repertoire of huge melodies and chopped vocals in mind, I included plenty of euphoric moments and intertwined them with heavy breaks, bass and weirdly wonderful tension. I feel like the mix has a life of its own; it’s hard to explain really – you’ll just have to listen ;)

I’m playing my first Boiler Room this bank holiday Sunday which is set to be a belter! Then festival season is well and truly underway. I’ll be at Gottwood and Glastonbury in June (big up Sports Banger for having me at their notorious Mega Rave), before heading for the first time to Canada to play at Bass Coast Festival in July. Secret Garden Party, Westival and Boomtown follow. By some work of magic I hope to find studio time for more releases, and of course I’ll be live on Rinse FM every Monday at 6pm throughout. I’ve been in the studio loads in the last few months making some new tracks for the summer. Got some releases coming out on Dansu Discs, Homage and Shall Not Fade over the summer. Also been playing a few shows across the UK and hitting the skatepark when I can.

The mix was recorded in the studio that I share with the guys who run Dixon Avenue Basement Jams on two cdjs.

It’s basically a mix of tracks that I’ve been loving in my DJ sets recently alongside a good few of my own new productions. I’ve been playing a bit heavier than I used to recently and that’s reflected in the second half of the mix.

You know the drill, we checked in about the mix and what she’s been up to recently…

I am currently based in Berlin, on my first European tour since March 2020. I played the last gig at Tresor before the world shut down, so it’s been nice to revisit and play the clubs here in Berlin.

To record the mix, I rented a Pirate Studio in Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin using a 3 CDJ setup.

I felt for a while that I wasn’t in control of my career or life.. I felt pressured to be “more techno” or play more “marketable music” or that I’m “too experimental”. After re-assessing where I was and stepping away from a lot of the pressures within my inner circle, I’ve found my joy for DJing again and am able to appreciate the beautiful blend of music I love to play. It’s a mix of old and new, friends and heroes, pumping yet trippy. A hint of the Midwest, a hint of Canadian, all things I love wrapped in one nice mix.

Up next?

I will spend the rest of April here in Berlin, then head back to Canada for a short while before heading to Detroit to play an off Movement party Meta Ta Physika, Chicago to play Podlaise, and New York twice later in the summer for some exciting debuts. I made the choice to tour less and focus on my own emotional and mental health this year, as I found being on the road a lot really disrupted that for me last year. Playing the music that matters to me, and the events that matter to me brings me closer to the joy of what I do best.

Since starting her DJ career in early 2019, Caoimhe has become a regular on stage alongside others such as Honey Dijon, Patrick Topping, Dusky, Disclosure and Sally C. As usual, we fired over some questions to get to know her and the mix more:

This year has been off to a great start for me. I’ve recently started a new monthly residency at Misfit in Thompsons Garage, the longest running club in Belfast. I was invited onto BBC Radio 1 lunchtime show to co-host the show with presenters Vicky and Dean, and have a chat about the country’s music scene. At the start of March, I travelled to Berlin to record a set at Hor, the world’s most famous bathroom, for the second time!

My partner and I have just bought our first house together, so I’m very happy to say that this mix was the first I’ve recorded in our new home. It was recorded using my CDJ’s and Xone 43c mixer.

The inspiration behind this mix comes off the back of a recent gig that I played at an event called ‘Plan B’. It was my first time headlining a show in Belfast, so I wanted to showcase some of the music I played on the night. I’ve included a lot of peak time rollers to mirror the high energy from the main room. I can honestly say that it was one of the best nights of my life. The event was held in an old Masonic Hall in East Belfast. It reminded me of what I think clubbing would have been like before my time and one of the most receptive crowds I’ve ever played to. I would like to dedicate this mix to the Plan B crew.

What are you up to next?

I look forward to continuing my Misfit Residency at Thompsons Garage. I am really excited to be playing at AVA festival again. In the coming months, I am also playing at Emerge Festival, Belfast, and Wildroots Festival in Sligo.

This week’s mixtape guest is Technoist (also known as The Teknoist). Having a discography that has spanned the last two decades, he has more recently released an EP and an album on Love Love Records, alongside running his own label Grey Meta. We asked him more about the mix and what he’s been up to recently.

Hullo there. I have been finishing this collection of tracks, as well as about 15 more, in a similar vein, to then release over the next year or so. A few are signed but a couple arent as of yet. Iv also been running the label i run with 3 other people, Grey Meta. We’ve just put a huge agro party jungle EP out and it’s proving to be our fastest selling release to date. I guess you could say the label is very genre fluid. We release anything as long as we believe in it. I’ve also been working on a lot of new hardcore techno and breakcore as it’s the thing i’m kind of known most for originally. So i suppose, my answer, in short, is, as always, a lot of music related stuff. I’m also glad to have touring slowly coming back in my life post lockdown.

The mix was recorded in my studio on just a bog standard DJ controller. I then sent the recorded mix to Ribbzy and he added his sections while vibing to it at his place. The opening track, ‘Stormbreaker’, iv just dropped on my little technoist.bandcamp.com so if you’d like that, head over there.

I decided a while back to make the mix 100% my own music, as a kind of showcase. Just to make it a more special type of introduction to me, y’know? I do like to go the extra mile and be or create something that is more than just run of the mill (aka work myself into the ground ;). Something a little extra. Getting MC Ribbz involved was actually, really down to a lot of people sampling him in the last few years on pretty big releases. Sampling old rave tapes and not giving him credit on the tracks. This isnt to say that im some sample police type person. Lawd knows i think sampling is an art in itself but he’s been a friend of mine and has been MCing over my sets since i was literally 15 years old. I want him to get some credit in a place that isnt the true underground. The rave scene is so small, a little credit here or there wouldnt have taken away from the tracks. In fact, it would have added credibility. Then again, i didnt insist on crediting Nas on my first ever release, 20 years ago, did i?! lol

What are you up to next?

I would really love to tour this set or the extended 2 hour version as either a live show or 4 deck DJ set along with Ribbzy and a live AV show which is being put together as i type these answers. So that would be cool. Or even just DJ some more techno orientated gigs… but for now, im back in to writing 200bpm hardcore techno for a bit as iv got so much damn ‘regular’ techno and techno adjacent material im now sitting on. Saying that, actually, 2 of the tracks in this mix (Causal Loop Paradox and Quest for Kenneth the Space Knife) are coming out on Grey Meta next month with remixes from Cocktail Party Effect and Ben Pest. I am really looking forward to that EP seeing the light of day.

We’re really continuing Paddy’s Day this year with Ireland’s very own Yasmin Gardezi on the mixtape. Yasmin is a resident of the techno events label and website, MOTZ Berlin, run by Irish girls in Berlin, London and Ireland. Yasmin is taking Irish dance music abroad this year, with a busy European and UK schedule. But first, we asked what she’s been up to recently and more about the mix…

The last few months have been nothing short but amazing for me! From selling out headline shows on home soil to making debuts in new cities in Europe and the UK, it really feels like I’m living in a dream. I’ve been working hard behind the scenes getting into gear and getting releases ready for a busy summer of festivals.

The mix was recorded, like all of my mixes, at home in the comfort of my bedroom on my home setup. I will admit I do find it very hard to record mixes in my room without the buzz of a crowd reaction but I do enjoy having the time to try things out at home.

I wanted to start this mix powerful, piercing and tribal while gradually upping the tempo and energy throughout the journey but keeping the same story line, adding in my usual splashes of psy twists and hard basslines. Locked away! Haha, I’ve been writing ALOT – I finally feel like I’m in a place with it where I’m ready to show people what I’ve been working on.
Outside of that, I’ve been enjoying showcasing other people’s music on Rinse FM – Sometimes it’s easy to just play the music you know really well and be lazy with it, but this has really helped with finding some unsung gems.

The mix was recorded at home, in some comfy clothes…honestly, I wish I had a cool story to tell you about it haha

I wanted to treat this as almost a mini Essential Mix and try give people a full flavour of the music I enjoy.
It runs from high energy club and breaks, right through to wobbly 100 bpm experimental sort of stuff.

What are you up to next?

I have a new release coming on Cross Country. It’s the largest single body of work I’ve ever released and is going to be a prelude to my debut album that I’m writing at the moment. It’s a mixtape called ‘You Are Everywhere’ and it’s the first time I’m releasing music with vocalists and poets and honestly I’m really proud of it.
Gig wise I’m headed to Austria to play Snowbombing festival, which was a highlight of the year for me last year so cannot wait for that! Also a bunch of club shows to announce alongside the new music so keep an eye out for those.

This week we have the London born and bred Jeigo on the FMB Mixtape. Since releasing his debut album “Cerulean” in 2019, Jeigo has cemented his eclectic tastes throughout his production and DJ sets. You know what’s next, we’ve asked him more about the mix and what’s he’s been up to recently…

2023 has just kicked off, so I have been busy figuring out plans (music and non- music) for the year and taking a less self-pressured but productive approach to January. Lots of exercise, mix-downs and 16 bar loops, as well as turning my new place, which I just moved into, a home (shoutout to Kempton antiques fair). Also coming down a little from the album release back in September, so enjoying the downtime, whilst also working full-time at Juno Records.

The mix was recorded in my home bedroom studio in Haggerston, drafted on my technics 1210’s and CDJ’s and then put together in Traktor and Logic Pro for a few tweaks. I have some effects chains I use in Logic for my productions which I love and wanted to utilise in the mix to give an essence of my production throughout, including Vahalia (the best!) plugins and Phat FX filters.

The aim for the mix was compacting a full night set within an hour and a bit slot, so beginning with some warm-up tunes, into peak time tracks and end-of-the-night selections, as well as those moments for trips home from the club when the melancholy kicks in. As always it features self-productions, friends tracks and new discoveries.

Up next?

I got a busy 2023 planned for music releases, with a big collaboration coming out with someone I really idolise, then a release on my childhood best friend’s label Tread Records (one of the tracks features in the mix) and then potentially a self-release EP or even album number 2, but I am not ready to make any decisive decisions for the later quite yet. Hopefully 2023 will bring some more gigs as well to give all the music I am making a spin on a proper system!!!

Happy new year everyone, 2023 is off to a great start and have the feeling this year is going to be a crazy one :) I am so happy that my first mix of the year is with you guys, honestly, a dream come true! I am really honoured!

I have been working on new music for 2023 and have some exciting releases coming up… I recently played an after-party during Milan fashion week for the brand DSQUARED2, it was a nice way to connect with a different crowd and the show was amazing

My mix was recorded at home in Florence, all vinyl recording on Technic 1200 turntables and an Allen & Heath Xone 92 mixer.

I dug through my collection for this one, re-discovering some of my sexy and groovy tracks. Adding some of my first vinyl purchases like Kamasutra – Running Away from 1993.. a really special track that holds loads of special memories for me. My idea for the mix was to bring people into another dimension. I imagined the reasons and what makes us dance, the primitive act of movement, deep sounds and the beauty of harmony we find in music. A spiritual moment for all of you, are you ready?

I have been rehearsing every day for a tour or USA and Canada that we are embarking on in a few days. It has been a lot of fun playing old and new Junior Boys stuff and getting the set together

I just recorded it in my studio with some DJ software nothing fancy.

It’s just a mix of some new techno stuff with some classic old Detroit stuff. kind of my bread and butter of dance music. I always gravitate to funkier minimal techno. I tend to like the stuff that has a relentless groove and not a ton of reverb and stuff like that. I love guys like Rob Hood, Claude Young, Dan Bell etc that my wheel house. so anything new that takes me to that place I usually gravitate towards.

My wife and I are currently travelling for 6 months and we’re in Bali at the moment after spending 6 weeks in Australia. I’ve managed to pick up a few gigs which has been decent. I played with Hysteric at his Mothball Records night and also at Revolver in Melbourne then played an all night set at Club 77 in Sydney which was very good fun. I also warmed up for Ivan Smagghe and Manfredas at Potato Head in Bali on New Years Day which was pretty cool.

The guys at Potato Head were kind enough to let me use their beautiful Headstream studio to record the mix since I didn’t get a chance to record it before we left London.

The mix I had originally planned is very different from then one I ended up recording. There’s been a massive shift in the scene over the last few years and almost everyone, including myself, is now playing much harder and faster than say 5 years ago. My initial plan was to sort of take a step back from that and I’d had a dig through my record collection and picked out a few seminal 90s House tunes from the likes of Boo Williams, Scott Grooves, Pal Joey, DJ Duke & Roy Davis Jr but unfortunately I didn’t get time to record that mix due to having to pack our flat up to come travelling. Instead I’ve put together a mix of some tunes I’ve been playing out a lot recently, very high energy stuff with lots of breaks, piano breakdowns and a particularly silly Speed Garage Remix of One More Time.

Heading off to Thailand next week then over the next few months travelling through Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Japan. Hoping to pick up a few more gigs while travelling too.

My new album “See You In Paradise” came out end of October on Permanent Vacation. So, I am touring a lot at the moment, celebrating my new baby with dear friends, worldwide. I have also been taking care of my label, Funnuvojere records. The last release just came out, a new EP by one of New York’s finest DJs/ producers, Eamon Harkin. In between all of this, I have been trying to work in the studio on some new tracks.

The mix was recorded at my place . With 2 CDJs and a Taula 4 Mixer.

I started this mix several times. Tried different directions. Normally, when I am asked to record a mix, which is mostly for home listening, I tend to prefer a non – clubby direction. People can hear me as a DJ all the time, right? But then in the end I thought, it’s the end of another special year so I will try and put together some of my favorite club hits from 2022. Which again, wasn’t an easy thing to do with the mix being around an hour long. It was of course impossible to include all of them! But I hope you can get the picture :)

For this week’s episode of our mixtape series, we’re happy to have the Australian DJ and producer Willem at the dials. As usual, we asked a bit about his selection & what’s he’s been up to lately…

With lockdown still in full swing and no club nights or festivals currently allowed in Melbourne, recently I’ve been focusing most of my energy into studio time and working on as much new music as I can, in preparation for what will hopefully be a full summer of parties. It’d be great to have a nice little catalogue of tracks for dance floor testing and hopefully can lead to some releases in the new year.

This mix was cooked up in the lab at my house via Ableton. Both CDJs and Ableton has their place in my heart, but I do love using a DAW for mixes and having the flexibility of layering multiple tracks down, enhancing different layers and creating different vibes in the process.

The idea of the mix was to create an engaging journey for the listener with energetic breaks, euphoric trance sounds and plenty of dance floor heat. I love putting together a selection of music that builds, ebbs and flows, and tells a bit of a story… and alwaaaays finishes strong. Most of the selections are by artists that heavily influence my sound, including Oz artists like Escape Artist and Roza Terenzi. You’ll also hear my love for classic trance sounds, with homage paid to scene icons like Paragliders, Spicelab and Binary Finary.

Alongside studio time, I’ve got a bunch of upcoming gigs that I’m super keen for and can hopefully go ahead. Smalltown Street Rave in December with the Novel crew and Let them Eat Cake NYD will be highlights. I’m also working on a bunch of shows with my event imprint Gold Haus which I run with my dear friend Austin. We’ve got a cool warehouse party and some club nights lined up as well as some sick public spaces we’ve been investigating for a summer rave series. There’s light at the end of the tunnel!

Next up on the FMB Mixtape series is a mix from 9th House, a new project by Firas Waez (AKA Waze), apparently born after many nights in Berlin playing at Panorama Bar & inspired by the zodiac. As usual, we fired some questions over to find out a bit about the mix & what he’s been up to recently…

I’ve been busy in the studio and still getting to travel a little bit. Most recently went to Cappadocia to do the balloons with some friends – it was amazing and definitely up there as one of the best things I’ve ever experienced. It’s hard to put it all into words but you turn up in the pitch black to a large dusty field to the sight and sound of hot air balloons coming to life – as the day breaks you head up into the sky. The views are surreal, and an amazing mood takes hold of you. Would highly recommend.

I’ve been in Ibiza working from here for the week so I’ve been collecting ideas, records and thoughts over the last week. It’s a happy place for me here, I worked a season here in 2003 and I’ve never looked back. It’s got a certain reputation but that’s definitely shifting and people are seeing the fabric of the island, particularly the North – there’s definitely a feeling to Ibiza.

I mix live in the club but on this occasion, I’ve been working off Ableton to put the mix together – some people say it has a certain sound which is a bit of a misstatement. It’s literally an 8 track that you can record on and in the same vein as writing music, you can have some fun with mixes on there and re-create a different vibe. It’s a different mix, much like CDJs are different to Vinyl. I don’t get overly twisted on the ins and outs. I started on decks back in 2003, I did that! I still love mixing records but also love the capabilities of CDJ’s – you have to move with the times sometimes and each to their own.

I wanted to get the mix right and showcase a few influences and sounds – there are some exclusive 9th House numbers in there that I’ve been testing out and are coming out soon. There’s a few classics thrown in there too but lots of producers I’m loving right now. I played recently at Wilderness, and then more recently with Gerd Jansen in Montenegro – so I’ve been getting back out there again and road testing some energies and moods. This mix is very much the last month or so, in one piece.

Flying home back to the UK; I’ve got a release coming up on Running Back, something on DJ Haus’ Hot Haus label and I’m back in the studio soon to work on some new materials. 9th House started a bit more EMO but since we’ve been coming out of the abyss of lockdown etc, the music’s definitely just outright happy vibes at the minute.

Recently Melbourne has been in some pretty heavy lockdowns, so I’ve been spending them completing my first EP, starting another, plus a few singles. It’s a bummer not having gigs but I’m feeling positive about the upcoming summer.

The mix was recorded in the comfort of my home, via my good pal Ableton.

The idea behind the mix was to blend an hour of high-energy, rolling indie dance and electronica. A lot of the artists on the tracklist are incredible talents, in what is still a somewhat niche genre. I resonated with this style after the first sniff I got of it, and it’s been a wonderful relationship ever since.

For this week’s episode of the FMB mixtape series, we’re happy to have to invited Hodge to take the reigns! As usual we fired some questions over to him:

I’ve just released a track on then new livity sound comp “ Molten Mirrors “ and other than that ive been focused on getting into the headspace of Djing again. I had a really productive time in the studio just before clubs opened up and now loving the chance to test those tracks on a system before releasing them.

Recorded it at home in my loft with CDJs and then fixed a couple of dodgy mixes after with Ableton.

It’s kinda where my heads at from the last few shows I’ve played, everything feels really great atm, crowds really up for it and everyone really moving. I’m just having loads of fun with it, especially after so long off and this mix is just a reflection of that.

Playing love saves the day this weekend, and then a triple day next weekend with the 10th at livity sound in Bristol, 11th at Corsica studios with Laurel halo and then my first trip back to Berlin on the for mother’s finest at Renate on the Sunday with a stacked line up. Can’t wait.

This week on the FMB Mixtape Series, we welcome the Glasgow-based DJ & producer, Nightwave. As always, we first caught up with her to find out a bit about the mix & what she’s been up to lately…

The clubs officially reopened in Scotland a week ago after nearly 18 months so I was absolutely ecstatic to be back behind the decks at La Cheetah Club in Glasgow where I’ve had a residency for the last 8 years. I’ve also been recording a lot of mixes, a bunch of remixes and trying to finish up my next couple releases in my spare time. I opened a holistic therapy studio during lockdown so I’m pretty busy with the new business and music industry restarting.

Classic CDJ2000 and Pioneer mixed setup in my house but I sent it over from the hills of Slovenia as I managed to finally fly home last minute after more than a year.

This mix contains a lot of Chicago energy and quite a few Paul Johnson tracks – like everyone in our community I’m heartbroken that he’s gone and wanted to show some gratitude for all the incredible music he left us with. I’ve also included some other Chicago classics, some ravey banger and a VIP mix of mine and DJ Deeon’s tune ‘Hit It’. It’s raw and pumpkin and sometimes that’s all you need!

Got a bunch of gigs lined up that I’m soooo excited to play – including Riverside, Lindisfarne and Playground festival and the reboot of Nightrave on the 21st of August. I’ll need to finish that record soon as well now I can finally play it out!! :)
