It can be frustrating to feel stuck and stagnant in your life, relationship, business etc. Society tells us to go harder and keep digging and trying but sometimes it's not that we need to work harder at the task but rather seek God so that he changes our hearts and even the way think about the thing we are trying to accomplish. In this episode, Krystal and Christina share their experiences with growth and mindset changes.
So, what is the difference between conviction and condemnation? Conviction is from God; condemnation is from Satan. Conviction leads you to repentance; condemnation drives you to despair. Conviction inspires you to keep striving; condemnation tells you to quit. This week Krystal & Christina share their experiences with conviction and condemnation as well as ways to strengthen your relationship with Christ.
Let’s face it, none of us love the idea of getting older. As we mature it is important to take care of our mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health. Sounds like a lot to juggle but it can be done with a few simple routines & some adjustments to unhealthy habits. This week Krystal & Christina share their experiences with aging and approaches to maintaining health.
The coronavirus impacted the entire world in a matter of days. We all went from running around with busy agendas to being forced into quarantine. This week we discuss the importance of using periods of isolation to relearn who you and to restore your relationship with Christ.
You decide to finally break it off with your boyfriend for the 5th time, you stop answering his calls and texts but you haven’t “blocked”him. After a few days you find yourself “checking” his social media pages to see if he misses you the way you miss him. Within two weeks you two have “worked things out” and are back at it. Sound familiar? If it’s not a relationship maybe it’s spending habits or a lack of discipline in health and fitness. This week Krystal & Christina share practical tips for going “cold turkey”, and having a plan to lessen the chances of you going back.
In this episode Krystal & Christina share some of the negative effects of fantasizing or daydreaming about situations and how they "should" or "we hope" they will play out. Life is unpredictable and to have unrealistic expectations about things can be dangerous to our self-esteem.
Silent triggers are those super-reactive places inside you that become activated by someone else's behaviors or comments. When triggered, you may either withdraw emotionally and simply feel hurt or angry or respond in an aggressive way that you will probably regret later. This week Krystal and Christina share some topics that trigger emotions in their personal lives. Once you identify what is triggering your reactions in the moment, you give yourself the chance to feel differently if you want to.
Everyone endures hardships whether it be in relationships, finances, health, or other major life transitions. In those times, not only is your character being tested but so is the character of those you are connected to. Pay attention to friends and family who support you and those who walk away. When you come back up (because you will) remember those who remembered you.
It is far too easy to experience feelings of being overwhelmed, stressed, anxious, and even frustrated with all of the role and responsibilities we take on in our culture. Many people have experienced feelings of "burn out" whether it be from work, school, or home life. This week Krystal and Christina share some of their experiences with stress and different ways they cope with it.
Long distance relationships can be tough to manage; the pressures and temptations that come along can be a hinderance to maintaining a healthy connection. Add inexperience and immaturity for those who are still in college/ early 20's and you have a recipe for disaster (in most cases). This episode Krystal and Christina share some of their early long distance dating woes.
There are periods of time where God doesn't say much to you, nothing monumental is happening in your life... things are "okay" but you still haven't reached your ultimate goal. This week Krystal and Christina discuss what waiting looks/feels like, and ways to combat falling into unhealthy habits.
People can be judgmental and critical of others life choices without taking the time to fully understand the “why”. Many of us are walking around hurting, but have learned to wear a mask to hide what we are dealing with internally because of negative experiences. This week special guest Andre sheds light on the homosexual lifestyle and some of the battles that come along with walking the path of Christianity.
You’ve met a great guy. He’s charming, confident, and seems absolutely smitten by you; if you’re being honest, you’re smitten by him too! There’s just one problem, he is fresh out of a long-term relationship. If you’re dating a man (or woman) who is new on the market, you are in a high-risk position for heartbreak. This week Krystal and Christina share some signs to look for when determining if you are in fact, the “rebound”.
Statistics show that as generations continue to grow older people are waiting until they are much older to get married if they get married at all. Many adults opt to cohabitate for the "benefits" i.e convenient sex and splitting the cost of expenses. This seems beneficial and easy enough since it appears to meet the needs of those involved, but at what cost? This week Krystal and Christina dive into the topic of marriage and what it means for this generation.
There are unspoken rules that apply to dating and meeting new people; first impressions set the tone for the interaction. In this episode, Krystal and Christina share tips on different ways to cultivate healthy dates that could ultimately develop into solid relationships.
It can be safe to say that many people enjoy validation and feeling wanted, but at what cost? Often lust is misinterpreted as love and creates a debilitating cycle of sex seeking. This week Krystal and Christina dive into the complexities of promiscuity.
When people hit "rock bottom" it is often assumed that they did something wrong, and as a result they are suffering because of a bad decision they made. This is sometimes the case but not always; life happens to some of the best people who deserve noting but the best. You know the saying "bad things to good people". This week Krystal and Christina provide a sneak peak into the darkest and lowest moments of their lives and how they were able to overcome them.
Sex sells! The sex industry makes around $150 billion dollars a year by doing everything from human trafficking, prostitution, to campaign ads in commercials we see on the day to day basis. People have been so exposed to sex that when offensive content is depicted without warning people typically go unoffended; they have become accustomed to the lifestyle. This week Krystal and Christina dive into the harsh realities surrounding the present state of sex and how its represented in our culture.
Being a black person in America is real!! The current political climate on top of a foundation that was built on african american inequities only makes surviving (not even talking about thriving) as a person of color that much harder. This week Krystal and Christina dive into the topic of being "woke" and what it really means to put effort into closing the gaps in our society.
Sex has been so desensitized in our culture that it is no longer seen as valuable or sacred. Many of us have fallen victim to being in a relationship that is going no where because we let the sexual aspects of it fog our judgement. This week Krystal and Christina share the importance of waiting for sex and how it changes the dynamic of relationships and dating.
If you fail to set a boundary people can and will take advantage of the freedom that you give them in your life. In this episode Krystal and Christina share the importance of setting boundaries and tips on how to implement them.
Meeting people of substance to date in 2018 is rare! Everyone is out looking for a late night hype, someone to go half on bills because they are struggling, or someone to boost their ego. This week Krystal and Christina dive into the complexities of dating.
Everyone wants to depict a lifestyle of success and wealth, but how many people are actually living it? This week we will talk about the importance of being yourself; and surrounding yourself with people who accept you as you are.
Fitting in with society can create a space where we as black women feel like we must "do it all" in order to be relevant or to even be noticed. It's easy to pick up and juggle multiple characters or personalities to accommodate the racial/social group around as to not offend or make anyone uncomfortable. This week Krystal & Christina share a few of their experiences living as a black women in America.
It's sad to say but one of the biggest ways to kill a dream is to make premature announcements. Not everyone that is around you truly supports you or wants to see you succeed. Our motto is to make big moves in silence and let the final outcome make a statement for itself. God will be your announcer.
Navigating friendships and acquaintances can be tricky on this Christian walk; just because a person is around doesn't mean that they support you or the vision God has given you. This week Krystal & Christina discuss the importance of genuine relationships.
Ever wonder why you or someone you know experienced "hell on earth" even though they didn't deserve it? Children born with cancer, mothers who have miscarriages, innocent people who get raped... these are all situations that are unfair and can cause extreme pain mentally, physically, and emotionally. Sometimes God does not give us an answer as to why we endured a painful situation but through his power we typically come out stronger in the end. Check out some of the "unfair" and painful situations Krystal and Christina have endured and how God brought them out.
What's seems "common" is not always common to people we know. It's amazing how people get lessons from God everyday and fail to soak in what he has been trying to teach them. Take a few seconds to look back over your life and reflect on how many times God placed you in the same type of situation for you to learn something... did you chuckle? Check out this week's episode as we dig into some of the lessons we have had to repeat and the common knowledge we learned.
Every new year people come up with these resolutions that are supposed to be "life changing" and over night they become a new person. Reality is most people bring new ideas into the new year but fail to address the "bad habits" that kept them from achieving their goals the previous year. We will use this analogy, you can't come home from work and put on perfume and a fresh set a clothes without showering and cleaning up the dirt you picked up. The smell will eventually seep past the "mask" you used to cover the uncleanliness. Check out this week to get a better understanding of making a heart and mind changes versus temporary resolutions.
Christmas is around the corner, as we prepare to spend time with our friends and family during this joyous yet cliche time we wanted to help prepare our listeners to deal with "brokenness" that surfaces when r friends and family gather all in one place. Almost every family, social circle, clique, etc. has one person who is constantly battling rejection, low-self esteem, jealousy, bitterness, hopelessness, etc. Check out this week to get the real scoop on preparing for the holidays and family gatherings.
Infidelity is at an all time high; the thought of cheating and having multiple partners is highly praised and glorified in our culture. Platforms that were meant to empower and inform the masses have been turned into stages that promote drug use, violence, and hyper-sexual activity. This week Krystal and Christina discuss how music and entertainment are encouraging women to be the "other woman" & the adverse affects it is having on our society.
After a much needed break Krystal and Christina are back to close out 2017 strong! This week they share some of the circumstances they faced while spending time with friends and family as well as different lessons they have learned as they fine tune their walk with Christ.
This week Krystal & Christina get down and dirty and share some experiences/choices that led them to engage in some sinful acts. Although the sins were forgiven (Christ died so that we could be forgiven) they still had to deal with the consequences of their actions. These are some sensitive topics that they have not shared with many people but it was time to break the ice and share their testimony.
