Yes, I've been forced to undergo a career change that called for four intensive weeks of training and field work, which took up much of my time. But I'm back in the center chair, delivering this program which was recorded nearly a month ago and it is one of our best! We're visited by special guests Dan Deevey of GaaaysInSpaaace and Ben Ragunton of Two Gay Geeks, along with Red Shirts alum Davette See to discuss The Outcast, another TNG episode that doesn't really go all the way (see our review of The Host)! In this episode review, I go on a half-hour rant because this is the episode that just broke the camel's back for me. Everything that's wrong with Star Trek Discovery, at least this season, is on display in this episode: plotholes, bad characterization (spoiler: this ain't your grandfather's Spock, hell, it ain't MY Spock), tragedies that don't resonate at all...but I won't say anymore. This broadcast is doing double duty as both a new Red Shirts episode and a weekly review of the latest episode of Star Trek Discovery! Why? Cuz our mild-mannered Craig J., who is usually very diplomatic about Discovery, went straight gangsta over this episode! He wasn't too happy, so despite the fact that I typically review these episodes solo and on camera (we didn't have time to set up a video podcast), we had to convene a special session of the Federation council and hash it all out! We also express a bit of fear about the upcoming Picard series. For better or worse, here's our review!

Actually, I dropped those two off at an uncharted planet, but made it back to the Alpha quadrant SOLO with the help of the AFRONERD RADIO SHOW on Blogtalk Radio with DBurt the Afronerd, Captain (Jay) Kirk, aka Cap, and the uncanny Daryll B. who has appeared on our show! Back in 2001, I sat down to watch Enterprise and after maybe three episodes, I decided it was just a big turkey, so it seemed appropriate to release our Red Shirts review of this series on Thanksgiving! Now, I don't want any Enterprise fans to beat the stuffing out of me, but that was my honest opinion back then! But I, your Red Shirts captain, decided to give it another try, sat down and watched every episode from "Broken Bow" to "These Are The Voyages" on Netflix. What motivated me to give this series a second chance? I discuss this with my fellow Red Shirts as well as give our review of an episode that marked a turning point for me: Fallen Hero. What can I say? Our navigator took a wrong turn into the Badlands, we got flung into the Gamma quadrant, took us a month to get back (Janeway says "Hi"). But we're back...and in that time, we've all had a chance to watch and re-watch this premiere season of DSC as well as the finale. Now it's time to discuss! This episode, we beam aboard Stephen Bates, host of the Just The Two Of Us Podcast; he brings some incisive insight to the proceedings! We review the season overall, the finale, things we liked, things we disliked (Ceti Alpha V eels?), what we want to see next season and a lot more. Yes, the Red Shirts' latest mission was delayed due to an encounter with the I.S.S. Internet, I almost had to stab Mirror Craig J. in the damn turbolift and Mirror Big Sexy is trapped in an agonizer right about now. But your captain is present and accounted for! On deck today: we discuss the return of Discovery! But even before we get into that, we touch on the #MeToo movement and its connection to Star Trek, I present a wacky theory about the connection of DSC Klingons to TOS Klingons, then we get into Black Mirror: CALLISTER! And somehow, we wind up talking about HBO's Westworld?? Last, but not least, we discuss if CBS All Access is worth paying for, once DSC wraps up its first season. We're behind a couple episodes, but we're still right on time!

I was going to release the latest podcast, a review of Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, but consider this a preemption.
