Feathers and Foes, brought to you by the Wright On Network, is back to talk about two Birds of Prey issues, placing our favorite characters in compromising situations. The gang, Ashford, Mark, and Laurel, struggled with the subject matter, but with the moderating craft of Laurel, Feathers and Foes pulled through in the end. Write to us at wrightonnetwork@gmail.com
Zinda Blake is on a mission to bring some sort of final justice to Killer Shark, who is carrying out the legacy his grandfather started, which is quite horrific. Also, Black Alice is in town. Is it room for both she and Misfit? Yes. A whole-hearted yes.

In the books of the New Gods, Death of the New Gods, Big Barda dies, which is where this comic, issue 112 of Birds of Prey, opens up. If things were heavy enough for Dinah, Oliver Queen pops the question to her. Moreover, the league of Assassins are after Sin to lead their charge. Tune in as we discuss issues 1-4 of this mini-series.

In Tony Bedard's second issue, we get a Huntress Showcase, which makes Ashford rather happy. Mark and Laurel weigh in on the conversation as well. So misguided youth are will to hurt the lives of others to break out their incarcerated idol, The Atomic Skull. Oracle has gone through her list of operatives she's used in the past, but all are not available, which leaves Barbara Gordon with The Huntress. And boy does the Huntress truly deliver.

A conclusion to Blood and Circuits story is provided, but the rise of Spy Master is only beginning. Has the Oracle lost it all? Will we every see Dinah again in a Birds of Prey book? The Black Canary and Lady Shiva are still doing the Freaky Friday/Hero Swap as Dinah is across the world, walking in the steps that was once Shiva's. And in Gotham, Shiva and the gang are trying to track down the medical doctor who has the health records of many super criminals. Oh, forgot to mentioned this shady doctor has been kidnapped by Prometheus. The Prometheus who took down the Justice League in Grant Morrison's JLA. Plot thickens.
The crew, Laurel, Ashford, and Mark, discuss the fast romp/Black Canary ascension of the 2nd installment of Progeny by Gail Simone. H.I.V.E. is after the Birds of Prey and over on the other side of the world, Black Canary is living in Lady Shiva's shoes, and they hurt like hell. One Year Later, but the threat is right now!

365 days later, the Birds of Prey returns, well...sort of. Yes, the Oracle, Zinda, and the Huntress are busy in Gotham, but Black Canary is across the globe. Now don't worry, the Jade Canary is filling in for her. Now, I should mention the Jade Canary is Lady Shiva. Yep, she's substituting for Dinah while she is being...initiated???
Harley Quinn lost her woman, her family, and perhaps, her mind? Returning to Gotham to confront those who destroyed her home/business and family. But as you might imagine, things don't go as plan.
The gang at Feathers and Foes discussed this one shot issue by guest writer Jim Alexander as well Jimmy Palmiotti on inks and Bradley Walker on pencils. Huntress is trying to be the best Bird she can be, yet Oracle is not straight up with her concerning this mission. Twists and Turns are throughout this issue. Write to us at feathersandfoes@gmail.com
This Birds of Prey special is so...special, 32 pages just wasn't enough. Heck, 80 pages wasn't enough, so DC decided to go with a smooth 100. A good mix of stories, featuring Black Canary, Huntress, Barbara Gordon, and Harley Freakin' Quinn. For 4.99 one can't go wrong. Go pick this up and read every story. So worth it. Write to us at feathersandfoes@gmail.com
Mark and Ashford discuss part two of the story arc, Perfect Pitch by Gail Simone. Black Canary is reconciling any prior bad blood, Barbara Gordon is anticipating a new lease on life, and Helena Bertinelli is seeking her birthright, reaching Capo status.

Oh boy. The Game is On, indeed. The Calculator can not rest till he discovers who this Oracle character is...and when he does rest, he dreams of capturing the Oracle.
Helena Bertinelli is going deep undercover, setting up best laid plans by making herself a Capo, which can have her take down organized crime from the inside.
And Black Canary is working on herself, being in the moment with her team, while looking forward, apprehensively, to resolve some loose ends with a prior relationship.
Give us a listen. Write to us at feathersandfoes@gmail.com or on Twitter @feathersandfoes
Gail Simone pieces together what seems like 3 vignettes, but the separate narratives are actually part of the same story, following our favorite heroes in comics, Oracle, Black Canary, The Huntress, and Zinda, Lady Black Hawk. Moving to a new city, settling scores, and introducing themselves are much harder than what any of them imagine. To new Beginnings! Cheers!
The long story arc of Barbara Gordon being infected by the Braniac "virus" has come to its conclusion, thankfully. And a showdown in Gotham. Yep, Black Canary has called in Wild Cat, Savant, Creote, Connor Hawke, Richard Dragon, and...The HUNTRESS! Will they be able to defeat the famed martial arts Bros. and stop a drug shipment into Gotham? Tune in as Ashford, Mark, and Laurel discuss issue 85, volume 1.
Helena has left the Birds of Prey to be her own point person, only to discover that the Oracle had been working the angle the whole time. And Barbara Gordon is also trying to make things right by smoothing things out with Helena before dealing with a major life choice regarding her health. Oh, Dinah has to recruit a small army to take on "The Brothers". Please e-mail us feathersandfoes@gmail.com
Oracle is going haywire, Black Canary and Ted are on the run, and the Huntress's plot is like a Martin Scorcese movie...what's not to like about this OMAC tie-in?
Black Canary and Wildcat are across the sea, proving their worth, while still poised with style and grace at every turn. And Helena resurfaces to claim her birthright at the table within the crime family community. Over in the Clock Tower, Zinda is witness the boss fall ill to a mystery unknown. Listen to us talk about issue 82: The Long Count. Write to us at feathersandfoes@gmail.com
The Cat and the Canary, together again in issue 81, where The Birds of Prey go international! And where is Helena Bertinelli you might ask? Claiming her birthright...in the Mafia!
We are at the end of the Birds hunting down those vigilantes whom may have crossed the line are getting darn near close. Also, revelations are made that may tear the Birds apart. Gail Simone brings a shocking conclusion to this five part story arc. Who will be left on the other side of this?
Write to us a feathersandfoes@gmail.com
Before the action begins, Black Canary meets with the Batman, imploring him to drop the jerk routine and make things right with Oracle, and to lay off of Huntress, who is in a good place right now and does not need his manipulation routines.
Oh, and Rose/Thorn is running a muck in Metropolis, which the birds would like to put an end to immediately. Will the Birds of Prey return to Metropolis? Will Huntress continue to attend church services? And will the Oracle tell anyone about her Matrix visits?
Gail Simone has our heroes in the Mid West, facing a threat that is actually doing some good, which really places the Birds in a situation where they have to reevaluate their moral code.
Mark, Laurel, and Ashford discuss the second saga with the Birds traveling to the mid west to put a stop to those vigilantes that are crossing the line. In this issue, Dinah, Helena, and Zinda try to play townies in a place that refuses to answer questions. Oh, and the Braniac issue with Barbara is still lingering.
The Birds are out of Gotham and into a new adventure in the Mid West. Lori, AKA, Black Alice, is filled with unchecked angst and a huge range of power, which will create quite the challenge for our Birds of Prey.
Ashford, Mark, and Laurel discuss issue 75, where the Birds are flying wounded, but free out of the hellfire of the huge crossover event, War Games. The Clock Tower has been destroyed, leaving our heroes homeless, but not hopeless. Join us as we discuss this new direction in the Birds of Prey. feathersandfoes@gmail.com
Ashford and Laurel are excited to be apart of this #JLMay Blackest Night line up, contributing a supplemental issue featuring the Justice Society of America.
Laurel, Mark, and Ashford discuss Canary flaring up, Huntress cementing herself as a member of the group, and Oracle measuring the weight of her judgment. Contact us at feathersandfoes@gmail.com or on Twitter @feathersandfoes
Huntress and Vixen are back to back, trying to fight their way out of Cult. Meanwhile, Black Canary is back home, trying to reason with a mind controlled Barbara Gordon, who is in the ones and zeroes fighting Braniac!
The penultimate issue of Between Dark and Dawn really leaves us with more questions than answers. The highlights are the moments with Huntress and Vixen. Will Barbara be able to ward off this pseudo Braniac? Will Black Canary be able to save a teen from committing an act of no return? Tune in.
Ashford and Mark discuss Birds of Prey 71 with an assist from Laurel to give a lovely summary of Insanity Defense by Gail Simone. Did we mention we have two Justice League guests? And great art of Huntress to boot!
Huntress goes deep undercover into a cult organization, where not only is her faith and physical prowess being tested, but her chance at life or death or placed to the limit as well. Can the Birds of Prey saved their new member from not being terminated in issue 70 of Birds of Prey?
Ashford, Mark, and Laurel discuss issue 69, where Dinah consoles a grieving parent, Helena is sent to infiltrate a cult, and The Oracle is the point guard, directing traffic on this DC Comics court. Give a listen to episode 103 of the Birds of Prey Podcast.
Cool art, a Trinity guest appearance, and a well-written script almost didn't save this book's ratings, for the gross cover and subject matter within the book really ruffled the feathers of Ashford, Mark, and Laurel. Were we too hard on this book? Take a listen and you decide.
You gotta catch episode 101, where we discuss the epic finale of Student and Sensei. The Girls are back in town...and they are taking names!
Feathers and Foes: The Birds of Prey Podcast is celebrating the 100th episode by doing an audio commentary to the Justice League Unlimited episode Death Match, featuring the Black Canary and the Huntress. Also, we revisit an interview with writer Gail Simone and thoughts about Birds of Prey and where it is going.
Thank all of you who came on the show are listened to us.
Mark, Laurel, and Ashford discuss issue 66, where we flashback to Black Canary's family heritage. That's right! The original Black Canary is the feature in this book. We go back to the early days of modern Gotham, where we see Larry Lance, the original Dinah, a young James Gordon...and the Origins of the Laurel in Dinah Laurel Lance.
Episode 98 brings issue #65, where Black Canary is in dangerous company, Oracle is held captive, and Gail Simone has solidified the Huntress's detective game beyond belief. The Birds are stronger together, but not yet. Listen to Laurel, Mark and Ashford discuss Power and Permanence on the Wright On Network.
Ashford, Mark, and our wonderful moderator Laurel discuss issue 64 of Birds of Prey, where the Black Canary has to team up with Lady Shiva and Cheshire. I know, right? Gail Simone writes a great script where the Canary has to combat on one front, and then we have Barbara Gordon being detained by some men who claim to be officers of the law, accusing her of committing treason. Wow!
Ashford and Mark discuss Birds of Prey number 63 with Laurel giving an excellent synopsis as usual. This is an interesting one where we see the team up between Black Canary and Lady Shiva and discovering that Oracle has a secret group of cyber Chat Room friends. Is this more than the Birds can handle? And where is The Huntress? E-mail us at FeathersandFoes@gmail.com
Black Canary flies over to Hong Kong to visit her dying Sensei, and lo and behold, Lady Shiva, student of the same Sensei, is in this adventure of Birds of Prey. And back home at the Clock Tower, The Oracle is having problems with her network, sending Batman and JSA members to the wrong locales, feeding them bad intel and the like. Contact us with your thoughts at feathersandfoes@gmail.com
Ashford, Mark, and Laurel discuss the kind of sort of conclusion to Of Like Minds, which features Savant breaking out of prison, Barbara and Dinah forging a stronger bond, an appearance from Batgirl (Cass) and perhaps Huntress becoming a Member? Tell us what you think of Tough Choices. Contact us at feathersandfoes@gmail.com
Laurel, Mark, and Ashford discuss the story after of Like Minds, The Hunt for Canary. Remember Black Canary got a little banged up in the previous story arc? Well, the scars remain, for she is out of commission, field agent wise. Dinah is doing a stellar job behind the desk as the Huntress fills in for her.
The finale of the fan favorite four part story Of Like Minds is the topic for episode 92 of Feathers and Foes. Will Huntress and Black Canary make it out alive? Will Oracle be able to keep her secrets intact? If so, will Black Canary and Oracle be able to trust each other going forward through this run of Birds of Prey? Listen to Laurel, Mark, and Ashford as they discuss the conclusion of writer Gail Simone's first story arc!
The Oracle is not at her wits end, but she is arriving at the threshold. Savant, a failed vigilante and mentally imbalance dude, still has the Black Canary hostage. Making a hail Mary play, Barbara calls in the HUNTRESS to help the Black Canary out of her predicament.
Could this be this be the formation of a new team? Write to us at feathersandfoes@gmail.com
Here. We. Go. Birds of Prey #57 is finally here. Yes, the first issue with the Huntress in Birds of Prey proper. Sure, Huntress appeared in the Man Hunt four part story before Volume 1 of Birds of Prey, but this is the real entry!
Black Canary is in serious trouble, beaten and tied up by the brilliant, but sadistic Savant. Oracle has a cast of characters she can choose from to save Dinah, but who is the right hero to save Black Canary?
And we know the situation must be terrible if Black Canary needs saving.
Gail Simone is finally here with Of Like Minds, the first story arc of her run. Ashford, Mark, and Laurel discuss issue 56. With the Birds of Prey movie being a reality, this is a good time to start listening to the podcast. Write to us at feathersandfoes@gmail.com. What do you rate issue 56?
Ashford, Mark, and Laural discuss the final issue of the Gilbert Hernandez and Casey Jones run. Danko Twag has really lost it in so many ways but one. Can Black Canary and the Oracle take on a misguided magician and an annoying nice guy? Tune in.
Black Canary and the Oracle are still tangled up with this Danko Twag and Beta-Male Dan business. Back story about Danko is provided, but still not forgiven by Mark and Ashford. What are your thoughts about issue 54? Contact us at feathersandfoes@gmail.com
Mark and Ashford of Feathers and Foes really had a hard time wrapping their head around Birds of Prey 53 by writer Gilbert Hernandez and artist Casey Jones. The Birds, Dinah and Barbara, go on Holiday, escaping their problems and enjoying some WELL DESERVED rest and relaxation. This gives Hernandez a chance to stretch his muscle by writing a down to earth story where we, the readers, get a chance to see Dinah and Barbara interact face to face.
We also see how men are attracted to these two crime fighters, which at times becomes tired rather quickly. Dinah is trying to understand her feelings with her Green Arrow situation and Barbara Gordon is trying to figure out things with Nightwing. While all of this is happening, hash tag nice guy Tom comes into the picture. Cue the emo music, Ladies and Gentlemen.
The Wright On Network went to Comicpalooza X back in May to talk shop about comics, movies, fandoms, and Comicpalooza in general. Check out our interview with artist Ben Templesmith. Write to us at feathersandfoes@gmail.com or Twitter @feathersandfoes

Ashford, Mark, and Laurel discuss issue 52 of Birds of Prey. Black Canary is trying to assist Java in saving Sapphire and son, while the Oracle is battling a front at home, and it is uncomfortable as all get out. The Birds of Prey have faced stronger threats, but with Black Canary having to be kind of on the side in her story, and Babes seemingly not being in control, this issue lends itself to being quite interesting.
Writer Gilbert Hernandez and Artist Casey Jones are back for their second story, Let's Get Elemental. The mystery is still unraveling in Black Canary's plot line. For Oracle, things are getting quite harry as this guy who claims to be the Killer Moth has broken into the Clock Tower and has manage to tie Barbara up.
Listen to Laura, Mark, and Ashford discuss this issue.
feathersandfoes@gmail.com
#HuntressisComing
Sarah and Ashford discuss and Fan Out about the news of a Birds of Prey movie? Who will be cast as our favorite characters? Will we get Batgirl or Oracle? Will Helena Wayne be in the movie? Will Warner Bros get the heck out of their own way so a great movie can be made? What do you think? Write to us at feathersandfoes@gmail.com
Gilbert Hernandez and Casey Jones take control of the Birds of Prey franchise. According to Ashford, he feels like this issue was proper Birds of Prey. Great issue with Black Canary/Oracle banter. We get Black Canary on the motorcycle and doing martial arts. We get some great action scenes and great character moments.
Let us know what you think at feathersandfoes@gmail.com
The finale, Batgirl and the Birds of Prey 22, hit the shelves on May 11, 2018. Based on the moves at DC comics, Feathers and Foes weren't surprised about this movie at all. Sad to hear that the Benson's run is done, but we are excited about following them to Green Arrow. Will Helena Bertinelli ever find a home?
The finale to the 3 story arc Chaotic Code has come to a close. Will Barbara Gordon and the Black Canary be able to stop Dr. Blackaver from using his meta-human daughter as a means to create and mass produce weapons of mass destruction? Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti along with Hi-Fi on the colors really brought their A-Game to issue 49. Share your thoughts with us at feathersandfoes@gmail.com
Terry Moore and Amanda Conner are back with their second story in the Chaotic Code story arc. Barbara is enjoying her new ability to not only walk, but kick butt as well with the help of the meta human power of Madison, a mystery teenager who is manipulated in helping a mad scientist. And on the other side of the plot mountain is Black Canary, who has been thrown in an unmarked van with men with guns and knives.
Issue 47 has the same heroes penned and drawn by a different art team. Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti, known for their work with Power Girl and Harley Quinn, and Terry Moore who many know from Strangers in Paradise.
Barbara Gordon uses her Oracle skills to get into an elite seminar where a genetic scientist feels as if he has unlocked the mystery of creation and entropy itself. And Black Canary is back in the fishnets, kicking butt without taking names, but you better believe she is keeping score.
Feathers and Foes is back, discussing Batgirl and the Birds of Prey #21 by Julie Benson and Shawna Benson. Guest Stars like Green Arrow and some other heavy hitters that will be discussed in the show. Go read the book and listen to Mark and Ashford as they discuss the penultimate issue of this epic book!
Writer Chuck Dixon visited the Wright On Network to discuss his run on Birds of Prey. After covering over 50 issues of his stories, Ashford and Mark of Feathers and Foes were able to catch up with the writer and pick his brain about stories from 1998 to 2002. Join us as we really go into the mind of a writer who brought us closer to these iconic characters.
e-mail us at feathersandfoes@gmail.com
Chuck Dixon's final story has explosions, guns, double-double crosses, which sometimes negates the original double cross. Only a panel or two with Oracle, and Black Canary only playing a supporting character, for the action, plot, and other characters over shadow our main protagonist, yet despite it all, this really serves as a great good bye for Chuck Dixon.
Yes, Marvel Studios released Black Panther, and it was glorious. Here at the Wright On Network, we have been working on giving you a response to the film, but we didn't want to rush anything out. We wanted to compile some conversations from people with different vantage points, which we believe is important, for we all have our different schema, philosophies, and experiences.
Ryan Daly of the Power of Fishnets podcast over at the www.fireandwaterpodcast.com, Mark of the Feathers and Foes podcast, Delvin, Dr. Shelby-King, and Jada all joined Ashford in a discussion about this unique triumph, Black Panther.
Ashford and Mark discuss Batgirl and the Birds of Prey #20 by Shawna and Julie Benson with pencils by Roge Antonio. Parting of the ways after the death of Gus and the secrets of Barbara Gordon. Can the Birds ever trust each other again? Will they ever reunite?
After hearing the news that the book is discontinuing, newer info has now hit the web, such as, the Benson sisters are writing for Green Arrow! What???? Make sure you congratulate them on Social Media.
As Birds of Prey lovers, we truly hope that the team are not fully neglected. And for Ashford, he hopes that Huntress will be used somewhere in the DC Universe.
What are your opinions on the matter? e-mail us at feathersandfoes@gmail.com or on Twitter @feathersandfoes
Episode 75 of Feathers and Foes is Chuck Dixon's penultimate issue called The Killing Ground. Black Canary is still stuck on Dinosaur Island, a peculiar place that is stuck in time with some colorful characters to say the least. Ashford and Mark discuss this G.I. Joe like structured plot. Join the conversation via feathersandfoes@gmail.com or on Twitter @feathersandfoes
Time Travel in a Birds of Prey book again? Oh yes. Black Canary and Death Stroke have to join forces if they want to survive an island with real living Dinosaurs. How? Tachyon Particles!
And War World 2 soldiers from both sides. If the story wasn't weird enough, right?
Batgirl and the Birds of Prey, written by Julie Benson and Shawna Benson, are embarking on perhaps the last story arc by these two writers. Mark, Sarah, and Ashford discuss this intense story arc opener.
Batgirl has hacked into the Calculator's computer system, extracting his database to prevent crimes before they happen. Although Barbara is trying to do the greater good, perhaps she is placing her loved ones in harms way.
The final contribution to the Bruce Wayne Murder crossover by the Birds of Prey...well, for Feathers and Foes: A Birds of Prey podcast. Oracle is so close to proving that Bruce is innocent, and Black Canary may have to get her Marty McFly on with Doctor Orenstein. Yes, he is back. Tachyon Particles! In addition, Death Stroke has returned, so it definitely isn't safe any more. Protect Your Neck!!!!

Finally, we have reached the issue where we get to discuss the backstory of why Power Girl has had beef with The Oracle. Yep, we are interrupting the Bruce Wayne Fugitive saga with this back story between the early days of Barbara Gordon and Power Girl. Yes, before there was Oracle and Black Canary, this could have been the team; however, with plans sinking like a ship, these two have never been the same.
Yes, the Birds are in Paris, but this is not a love story. Well, actually...this is a love story between the reader and creators. This is a rocking story, Batgirl and the Birds of Prey 18 is. We have Spyral, Paris, future tech, a connection with other books in the DCU, and the Birds of Prey!
When Huntress is propositioned a case in Paris from Tiger, a player in the Spyral organization, which Huntress used to be apart of before joining the BOP, she recruits the Birds of Prey to come along. As it happens, Barbara Gordon was in route to the City of Lights for a Tech Talk, and we all know Black Canary is down for whatever, so how can we not love this bottle issue? HAP-E, we are!

The Saga Continues with this whole Bruce Wayne being accused of murder, and now he is on the run. Displaying loyalty, and ensuring that justice is done, Barbara Gordon is still on the case. She commissions Black Canary to rob a bank in broad daylight, which Black Canary obliges, for she is also displaying loyalty to The Oracle.
Julie and Shawna Benson are back with the finale of this 3-Part Story Arc with Roge Antonio on pencils. The Daughters of Gotham are not playing around with the males in Batgirl's city. As convincing as the D.O.G. are with their sales pitch, Batgirl and the Extended Birds of Prey are not buying.
What do you think about the finale and the story arc as a whole? This is the last story of the year. Did it end the year with a bang? Ashford believes that this is one of the most interesting villains in Gotham that needed some more story. For all intense and purposes, the Daughters of Gotham achieved their goal. Too bad the best heroes in Gotham happen to be featured in this title. Bam!!
Birds of Prey 40 is a second tie-end with the Bruce Wayne Murderer saga. Babs, Dinah, and Stephanie Brown are trying to solve this murky case while helping Stephanie with her personal problems at home. Even though saving Batman from the legal system and himself is a first priority, the Birds are still about helping the unforgotten, the luck ran out, the left for dead.
And in the B-Plot Story line, Ted Kord is suffering from a weak heart, and not just from losing out on a chance to date Babs, but literally having cardiovascular issues.
What's a Bird to do...
Bruce Wayne: Murderer! Yep, Bruce Wayne is wanted for murder, and the Birds are on the job. We are covering issue 39, and Laurel, also known as MtnFlwr1 on Twitter is helping us out with the summary of not only Issue 39, but the events leading to the issue.

Thank you for listening.
Issue 38 of Birds of Prey is half one shot/half origin story, but one thing is for certain, it is back to basics. Yes, Oracle in the chair, and Black Canary in the field. Together again...well together via comm links.
New Future Tech is going down at a company that may cause terrorist like espionage, and Black Canary is there to make sure that doesn't happen. Listen to Mark and Ashford thoughts about the issue that is the dawn before the Batman Murderer crossover, which we are really excited about to tell you the truth. Sorry, I didn't want to end the sentence with about. Like I did right there. You know, ending sentences with prepositions and the like. I'm rambling.

The Benson sisters have something to say with the Manslaughter story arc. Ripped right out of today's headlines, the themes and issues covered in this book are relevant to all the scandals going on in the media. As much as we want to be entertained by our entertainment, there are times where entertainment has a responsibility to comment on the social issues of today, yesterday, and tomorrow.
The Daughters of Gotham, a terrorist organization, primed and ready to rid Gotham of the adult male population are ready to do whatever it takes by any means necessary to accomplish their goals. Can the Birds and Company stop this organization in time?

"Never met a wise man/if so it's a woman" Kurt Kobain shouted that lyric on the song Territorial Pissing. The wise women of Gotham and beyond must find a cure fast in order to save the men of Gotham.
The Benson sisters, Shawna and Julie, craft an excellent beginning opener, sprinkled with guest stars, suspense, and mystery. Roge Antonio created some great scenes of horror, and the reveal at the end, which is spoiled by the cover, but is still bad "behind", is worth the price of admission.

Blue Beetle and Robin join the Birds of Prey this issue to assist with capturing the remaining criminals who not only escaped from prison, but was also Jokerized. Yep, this is kind of the aftermath of the crossover event, Joker's Last Laugh.
And the other side of town, Oracle is trying to coach Dick Greyson, who is still ashamed of himself and brooding because he attempted to murder the Joker.
Mark and Ashford really enjoyed this one. Guys, the Condiment King is in this one...and he is not playing around with the Birds and Gotham.

Helena, Black Canary, and a group of high school kids are on a bus. Destination: Out of City Limits. Yep, this sponsored school trip is taking this motley crew to a site where the students can learn more about their hometown's history. Hopefully, nothing in the woods will make these present day school children history.
Meanwhile we have Barbara Gordon playing dual roles as Oracle and Batgirl. Special guests are invited in this issue as well. So get your ingredients for smores, weenies, and sleeping bags, for ghost stories around the campfire are what's up for Batgirl and the Birds of Prey 14.

Ride the Snake! This is the best part of the trip. This is the trip, the best part. Sorry, Jim Morrison said that...I couldn't help myself. Black Canary is on the run in the slab! Yep, a penitentiary that is holding the crazy of the crazies, and I am not using the term lightly.
Some of this comes off as a dream sequence. Black Canary is able to display her cunning, athletic prowess, martial arts, and leading lady ability all in this one book.
Join us as we discuss Chuck Dixon's Caged Canary.

Black Canary, Batgirl, Poison Ivy, Catwoman, and The Huntress are all in this action packed story by Julie and Shawna Benson. There is a lot of buzz going around about corporate greed, and Poison Ivy is seeing green with anger. Can the Birds talk her out of making an irreversible decision? Will Gus be able to break free from Calculator's blackmail?
Finally, the conclusion of The Big Romance between Black Canary and Ra's Al Ghul. You heard right. Chuck Dixon chose to have Black Canary leave one wonky romance with a pre-Columbian explorer to getting back to the present and falling for the Demon. Only Dinah, right? This issue has a "No Take Back" that you are not going to forget.

Black Canary and Ra's Al Ghul's relationship is coming to an end, which is a good thing. Unfortunately, this may be curtains for our hero, The Black Canary, unless Oracle and crew can come to the rescue. Batgirl and the Birds of Prey 12, moves the story right along with guest appearance from Selina Kyle...Catwoman. Calculator has gotten himself in too deep, and now his family are being held hostage at Terracare, a company claiming to be eco-friendly. Although they are not keen on helping out former foe the Calculator, the Birds agree that with a mother and children involved, they must lend their service to saving innocents.
Catwoman stole something from the vaults of Terracare that has lead to the kidnapping. The Birds are a little hesitant about contacting Catwoman. They don't know how she might react with them telling her that she is going to have to return the jewels back to Terracare. Batgirl was right. As you can see above, Catwoman for one, didn't appreciate the ruse that Batgirl played on her, which involves the Batman, and Batgirl placing her nose in Catwoman's business. I'm totally surprised that Bruce played that game. He will answer to Selina later, I'm sure.

Chuck Dixon ramps the drama up in this intense, romantic story involving Black Canary and Ra's Al Ghul. And yes, Talia is not happy about the proposition her father offers to Dinah Lance.
Beautiful art by Butch Guice and Gloria Vasquez, who really capture the romance and horror of this book. Mark and I are still puzzled by the characterization of Dinah, but there are so many talking points in this book that we really enjoyed discussing this story.
The emotional beats displayed in the writing and art are quite masterful.

Feathers and Foes are back with another Pre New 52 adventure of Birds of Prey. This one is called the Stray. Mike McDonnell brings some interesting art to this one. Chuck Dixon kind of has me confused with the characterization of Dinah, but I'm just going to ride with it. Kind of like what Jason Bard is doing, while trying to remain alive. Ra's Al Ghul and Talia are all in this one action packed book. And I do mean action.

Issue 31 of Birds of Prey is one of those stories where the main characters (Oracle and Black Canary) are peripheral, and the guest, Jason Bard, is our protagonist. You know Jason Bard, he was featured in issues 1-3 of Birds of Prey. We covered those issues about a year ago exactly. Jason was Bab's fiance. This is a cool issue. We have a dated gumshoe, France, and Barbara Gordon doing her thing where she is "mad" manipulating everyone. And a special surprise ending that will make you want to read issue 32 immediately.
www.wrightonnetwork.com has more of our programming.
Go there for a review of the Wonder Woman movie. Sarah of the burtinelli.tumblr.com and Ashford are going to analyze the movie.
Time and Time and Time Again is just that. A topsy turvey, timey wimey, story. Will Black Canary be able to return to the right time? Join us as we talk about the conclusion of this 3 part story. Penned by Chuck Dixon and penciled by Butch Guice, we are taking on a journey that is dealing with murderers, love, and time travel. Birds of Prey 30 in full-effect.
Celebrate with us, for the 50th episode of Feathers and Foes are upon us. The Benson sisters have reached the conclusion of the 3 part saga of Black Bird, the villain who can steal powers from other metahumans. Will she take Black Canary's powers? The Sonic Cry! You don't want to miss this one.

Chuck Dixon has displaced the Black Canary in Minnesota pre Columbian era. She's not alone, of course. Stuck in time with the Ravens: Chesire, Vicious, and Pistolero. In the present day, Barbara Gordon is doing whatever it takes to get her friend Back to the Future...or present.
Canary is knee deep in deep cover in issue 9 of Batgirl and the Birds of Prey by Julie and Shawna Benson. Roge Antonio and Allen Passalaqua really join forces on this one with the pencils and colors. Underground Fight Clubs, new villains, lost souls...all of that is here in one issue. Will Huntress and Batgirl be able to save their friend, who happens to be a meta-human?

Black Bird is action packed, and I'm not just using the phrase lightly. Nightwing is featured heavily. We are introduce to a new villain, who has infinite potential. And the Birds are as cool as ever.
Feathers and Foes are back with Butch Guice and Chuck Dixon, the creative team behind this beautiful display of a comic. Black Canary and Dinah meet for the first time, but before they can bust out into the Kid n Play, a blast from the past is going to for the two birds to part again. The Ravens. 'Nuff Said!
Welcome to another episode of Feathers and Foes. This episode is dedicated to Batgirl and the Birds of Prey #7: Soldiers of Fortune, written by Julie and Shawna Benson. Art by Claire Roe, yea! Black Canary is Gorilla City with Lady Vic, who tried to kill her recently, Death Stroke, who is MIA at the moment, and Grimm, a gorilla who is fond of human behavior. These band of misfits are going down the yellow brick road to find a heart for Block Buster. This is a story with Grodd, and he is not amused.
Chuck Dixon scripts a wonderful story, and the artwork by Butch Guice is simply fab.
Tensions between Batgirl and Huntress start to flare as the heat is turning up plot wise. Also, a couple of interesting flashbacks concerning the Black Canary.
Editor of the Birds of Prey, Joseph Illidge, joins Feathers and Foes to discuss all things Birds of Prey.
The Deep is the Hunt for Oracle, the last installment of the four part Nightwing/Birds of Prey crossover. The End is near. Oracle is on the run while Black Canary is trying to save her from the hands of Block Buster.
The Birds are hot on this new Oracle's trail. Unfortunately, so is Santo's henchmen. Batgirl and Black Canary are also trying to get used to The Huntress.
Blockbuster is on Oracle's trail, which is quite understandable, she has been draining money out of his accounts for years, and now he is going to make her pay up. Black Canary is in the Jungle, trying to duck and dodge Blockbuster's hired guns. This is a story that is part of a 4 issues crossover between the Birds of Prey book and Nightwing, both written by Chuck Dixon. Join us!!!
Dick Greyson, Tim Drake, and Ted Kord are all in this issue. A fun romp right before we get into the Hunt for Oracle. There is even an appearance from Jason Bard, Barbara Gordon's ex-fiance.
Hateful is written by Chuck Dixon. Art Team = Pencils -Dick Giordano; Inker -Jackson Guice and Gloria Vasquez as the colorist.
This is a civil war story. Although this was written in the year 2000, the themes are timeless, of course. While Black Canary is trying to survive the violence that is happening in Transbelvia, Oracle is trying to balance her work life, helping Dinah, and her social life, which happens to be Jason Bard, her ex-fiance.
Feathers and Foes are also covering the animated Killing Joke movie. This episode is action packed for your listening pleasure.
This was a fun episode with some intense content. Nuclear Roulette stars the usual line up with an assist from Power Girl! Ashford, Mark, and Laura also did the retrospective about the Birds of Prey television show. Feathers and Foes have covered the television show since March of this year. What will we do without it? I will miss it, indeed.
The Joker's Tale is the second saga for this new direction of the Birds. You will not want to miss what is cooking in this book. Guys, we have a Joker story with OUTSTANDING art. If you don't have this book, get it now.
Feathers and Foes are also covering the last episode of the television series, Feathers and Foes.

Face Time is like a new season for the Birds of Prey. Oracle is away from her workstation, meeting up with Bumblebeeb, and Black Canary is getting settled in her new apartment in Gotham. For an opening story to bring in the new millennium, this story ranges from internet dating, to domestic abuse, to terrorism.
Feathers and Foes are also talking about the penultimate episode of the WB original series, Birds of Prey. You don't want to miss the action that will lead to the ultimate finale.

Mark, Ligia, Jordan, and Ashford did a panel about the Birds of Prey: Women and Diversity in comics. We had a great turn out with an excellent moderator, Laura. The discussion ranged from diverse representation in comics to gate keeping in fandom.
We understand that the topic is not only important, but sensitive, and by no means do we feel as if we are giving definitive authority on any of these topics. Really, the whole point of this panel was to get the conversation going.
Unfortunately, we were pressed for time. Some of the Q&A made it to the podcast, but the dialogue continued after the panel as well.
@feathersandfoes
This is the final installment of this Fourth World adventure, featuring the Birds with assists from Catwoman and Power Girl. Will the Black Canary, Catwoman, and the U.S. Marshals be able to get back to Earth? Who will win the battle between the fury of Lashina and her ribbons vs. Catwoman and the whip?
In addition to all of this, Mark, Ashford, and Laura are discussing the episode Reunion of the Birds of Prey television series. Remember, you can stream the episodes on CWSeed.
This is also the last issue of the 20th Century. And if the tears haven't fallen yet, the art team is changing as well. It was such a good run, but the new art team looks promising, and Chuck Dixon is handling the script, so we can trust that the Birds are in good hands.

Feathers and Foes are back with another episode. Issue 9 volume one features The Black Canary and Oracle, of course. Black Canary is sent on a covert mission to Koroscova to release a prisoner. This issue is action packed with explosions, guns, and running. Will Dinah make it out alive?

A new Story Arc where the Black Canary just wants to get away for some R&R, but of course, those plans will be interrupted by the Cobras, a covert operation that have contracted the Ravens, Chesire, Pistolera, and Vicious to go to the same location where Black Canary is relaxing, not intended, to retrieve something of mystery...for now.

Welcome to the 10th episode of Feathers and Foes. Can you believe it! 10 episodes. And this episode is a doozy. Perhaps it is not a doozy. To be honest, I don't even know what would constitute a doozy.
In this episode, we are covering issue 1 proper of Birds of Prey. The story is called Long Time Gone written by Chuck Dixon and illustrated by Greg Land, and inked by Drew Geraci. Black Canary and Oracle are in top form.
Please don't forget to listen to our segment about the Birds of Prey television show from the WB television series back in 2002.
Ligia and Ashford are back to discuss the Birds of Prey Issue: Batgirl, a story of Batgirl and Black Canary. What? You must see how writer Chuck Dixon brings all of this together. And the rogue's gallery is really in this one, ranging from the Mad Hatter to the Joker. Released in 1998, the Birds are swinging towards 1999 with a bang!
In addition to this issue Ashford and new Co-Host Mark discuss the pilot episode of the WB Network's show, Birds of Prey from 2002. Ashford and Mark will discuss this show each issue until the end of its series. In this episode we get an appearance from Aaron Paul. No, there is no meth involved, but with some of the meta human abilities of Huntress, perhaps you might feel like you're on that Chrystal.
Ashford and Ligia are back to discuss Wolves, written by Chuck Dixon. Compared to the previous stories, this is more of a character piece; we learn about Black Canary's ex-husband, Craig, and we finally get to see Oracle out and about, away from her workstation.
Hopefully, the Birds can get it together as they are faced with one of their greatest foes in this story, The Simple Life.
