This is one of my favorite circles. I've adapted it so that Dads aren't left out. I will demonstrate during the Zoom call, send out words and instructions, and make a video so you can see the motions. This is a new circle for the children.
This story, by Suzanne Down, would usually be told with puppets. Perhaps you and your little one could do a puppet play of your own!
I can continue to add to this one as well. I'm starting out with the ones most familiar to the children. They can probably do most of the gestures, but I'll also do a parent demonstration video soon.
I recently began sharing multicultural picture books with the children before nap time. I'll try to add one per week here.
We've been doing this circle for a couple of weeks already, so the children might remember the movements and gestures. We usually end with a brief rest time, lying down.
We say/sing nursery rhymes with simple bean bag games. Almost all of these will be familiar to the children, and I'd bet, in some form, familiar to grown ups as well!
