We are breaking up into three distinct sermon series, each addressing different things. The three series will be Radical Relationships (Matt 5), Radical Religion (Matt 6), and Radical Results (Matt 7).
April 17, 2019- Midweek Worship Service Pastor Isaac Worley
If we are not careful, we can celebrate Good Friday and Easter and not dwell on what it is that we are actually celebrating. Even more, if we drift into thinking that, through His death and resurrection, He promises something that He never actually promised, we will become discouraged and discouraged. In this sermon, as Pastor Isaac looks at Luke 24:13-31, we see 1 misunderstanding that lead to 2 discouraged men, and then 3 new actions they made when they realized their misunderstanding.

In this week’s sermon, Pastor Isaac continues on the topic of pain and suffering as we go through John chapter 11. Focusing on John 11:7-16, Pastor Isaac addresses the hard truth that our pain can be a blessing as it points us to our need for a Savior. Even with the deepest of pains and darkest of times, though we may not understand how God could use it for our good, God is using these times to draw us closer to Himself.

This week Pastor Isaac continues our series on the topic of critiquing others in their sin. In the first week, we found that all critique must be done from a humble heart and not out of prideful condescension. In week two, we saw that, when talking with a non-Christian, it is better to point to Christ than to their specific sins. Now this week, Pastor Isaac argues, from Scripture, that once they have turned to Christ, it is our obligation to persist for each-other’s holiness out of a love for one another.

This week Pastor Isaac starts a new sermon series on the topic of critiquing others in their sin. With this comes many questions. Is it our right to call others out in the way they are living? If so, what is the most appropriate way to do it? Should we only call out Christians and not say anything to non-believers? These will all be addressed in this series through the consideration of what Scripture says on the topic. In this first week, Pastor Isaac lays a foundation by asserting that, in any critique we may have of others, we should always do it out of humility knowing that we, in ourselves, are no better.

Specifically at the books last few verses, we see that God is faithful to care for the broken and, often times, He does this through unqualified people.

Though this book doesn't make any mention of God's actions, we find that every chapter is filled with signs of Him faithfully working in the background. Specifically looking at chapter 3, through the example of Ruth, we see the temptation we can all have in finding our ultimate satisfaction in things other than God.

This week Pastor Isaac continues our six week series through the book of Ruth. Though this book doesn't make any mention of God's actions, we find that every chapter is filled with signs of Him faithfully working in the background. Specifically looking at chapter 2 this week, through the way Boaz cares for Ruth, we are able to see how a small glimpse into how God cares for us. Just as Boaz protects and provides for Ruth, so God also protects and provides for His people.

This week Pastor Isaac continues our six week series through the book of Ruth. Though this book doesn't make any mention of God's actions, we find that every chapter is filled with signs of Him faithfully working in the background. Specifically looking at 1:8-22, Pastor Isaac addresses the call we have, as Christians, to remain faithful to God over all other things. For, even if He is the only good thing in our lives, it is far better than we could ever fathom and much more than we could ever deserve.

Specifically looking at 1:1-7, Pastor Isaac addresses the reality of pain and despair in life but the call we have, as Christians, to remain faithful to God though we don't understand His plan, and to trust in His provisions. As we say "good bye" to the seniors and we welcome the 6th graders, Pastor Isaac addresses the topic of being the together. From Jesus' prayer in John 17:21-23, we see that believers today are called to be united for the sake of our witness to the lost world around us. Though we do not all worship in the same place or worship in the same way, we should be able to embrace one another as a fellow brother or sister in Christ.
July 25, 2018- Midweek Worship Service Pastor Isaac Worley
This week Pastor Isaac finishes our series on work. The hope that Pastor Isaac and the ETYM team has for this series is that students will see what it means to work hard in all that one does as a Christian. For this first sermon, Pastor Isaac looked Exodus 31:12-15 and talks about how to work as a Christian at what we do, we must find find our strength in Him rather than ourselves. This is done through the Sabbath. With this perspective, we can't afford not to take a Sabbath.

For this first week, Pastor Isaac looks at 2 Thessalonians 3:6-9, and talks about how the effort that we put into our work is an example to everyone in how we serve God in our daily lives.

The hope that Pastor Isaac and the ETYM team has for this series is that students will see what it means to work hard in all that one does as a Christian. For this first week, Pastor Isaac looks at Ephesians 6:5-8, and talks about how a Christian's primary motive for working hard should always be to worship God though it.

Samuel Gingerich continues the series over the book of 2 John titled "Nominal Christianity," as he speaks of the love of God that transforms lives. Our hope for this series is that every verse of 2 John will speak into how we are to live with Christ at the center of everything we do. We are called to not just be Christians by name, but by practice, as well. This week Samuel looks at verses 5 and 6 and how it speaks towards experiencing God's love both internally as well as externally.

Based upon the first two sermon's leading up to this point, Pastor Isaac now addresses what our part is for planning for the future and following God's direction. Now that we have talked about how God acts for the future and knows everything about it, we are able to rest knowing that He is God. Still, we have a part to play. Ultimately, we should seek His direction with personal biases aside and then to confidently do something.

From Matthew 6:31-33, Pastor Isaiah continues on the series on God's will by affirming that God is the God of our future. Similar to last week's message that taught that our futures are in God's hands, this week's sermon expounds on the amazing truth that God knows everything about the future. These realities about God have laid the foundation for the next two weeks as we will now transition into seeing how we are to do our part in preparing for the future God has for us.

From Matthew 6:25-30, Pastor Isaac begins our series on God's will by laying the foundation that it is all in God's hands. Before discussing how to make wise decisions and discerning the future, Christian should find initial comfort that God is ultimately in charge and is reliable. Not only is He reliable, but there is no decision that we could make that would limit God from still using us to progress His plan for our lives. In this sermon, we profess that we don't follow a small God who can't be trusted in, but One who knows all and is working in all for our good.

The example found in Mary's reaction to both Christ's death and resurrection in this Passage shows the modern Christian that there is both sadness and celebration in the work of Christ. While it should bring us great reverence that Christ died on that cross because of us, it should in the same breath give us great joy that this is what He did. For in the cross and the resurrection, He extends to us the same new life with Him.
From Matthew 22:36, Sam talks about the second greatest commandment- to love others. Addressing the question that has been asked for many years, that is why did Jesus give two instead of one, Sam shows that the two are bound and can not be separated. Truly loving God leads to and is manifest loving others. Likewise, if one were to only love others, what reason would he was first loving God?
