Today I am joined by the most delightful Susie Emilie: sound healer, inner voice facilitator, digital nomad, spiritual seeker, cat lover and so much more!

Susie and I first connected through inner voice facilitator training and I really enjoyed hearing more of her story during this interview. Hailing from Munich, Germany, Susie has been a traveler most of her life and after a couple rounds of corporate burnout she took the leap to become a full time digital nomad back in 2017, spending part of her time abroad and part of the time in a camper van.

Earlier this year, she traveled from Germany to Mexico and onwards to the US so you’ll want to tune in for her tips on international travel today!

We also cover:
- The first step to turn your nomadic dreams into reality
- The unspoken truth of long term travelers
- Susie’s spiritual quest and how it led her around the world and then straight back home
- The stranger she met in Mexico that led to a huge realization
- Her winning strategy for sailing through immigration and customs
- The reality of travel fatigue and overcoming post-covid travel fears

You’re in for a treat today! Tune in for a delightful conversation with my friend and kindred spirit, Mairéad Kennedy. Originally from the US, Mairéad is a lifelong traveler who has spent the last three years living throughout the British Isles and beyond as a digital nomad and house sitter! Mairéad and I are both nomadic souls who make most decisions - travel and otherwise - using our inner voices.

What’s an inner voice? Maybe you’ve called it intuition, heart, higher self — it’s that peaceful voice inside that reminds us who we are, why we’re here and what is best for us in any given moment. It’s so much deeper and truer than the nonstop worries that distract our mind. Mairead and I are both trained inner voice facilitators, helping you go deep to access the well of peace, love and wisdom within you.

The inner voice is so beautifully connected to travel, especially solo travel. They both build upon the other — the more you listen inward, the easier it is to travel - and the more you travel, the stronger your connection to your inner voice. So press play to hear all about how Mairéad and I turn inward in order to create our outer realities, bringing more joy, fulfillment, adventure and surprise than our minds could have imagined.

Meet Sheila Sousa, a telecommunications engineer, free spirit, international volunteer, salsa dancer and a true citizen of the world! Born in Mozambique, Sheila was raised in Portugal and is now based in London.

When the 2008 recession made finding a job after university nearly impossible, Sheila opted to travel solo to Thailand where she worked with hill tribes on the border of Myanmar. Since then, she has prioritized seeing as much of the world as she can. We discuss how she prepared for her first solo trip and how it changed her outlook, how she meets people while traveling as an introvert, and the ways in which she overcomes stereotypes as a black woman. Sheila has so much insight and wisdom to share (and an infectious laugh to boot) so if you’re thinking about a gap year or just a short solo trip, be sure to tune in!
