Aedín Hassett a history enthusiast, hosts this weekly podcast exploring various themes in Ireland’s centuries long struggle to free itself from imperialist rule. Aedín is a graduate in history and sociology from UCC. She was steeped in the history of her own county Tipperary, the rebel county of Cork and indeed her country from an early age. Her late father John J Hassett was a renowned Local Historian who dedicated much of his life to ensuring the heroes of our past did not get forgotten particularly the heroes of the War of Independence. When Aedín’s father died last year she was more committed than ever to continue with his work to ‘remember’; this podcast was born from this commitment.
